HInconsistent experience: Great veteran staff, but rooms and service vary.
I have been a loyal guest at this hotel for years, but my recent stay was a bit of a mixed bag. During this trip, I experienced two different room types. The renovated room was decent, but the older room felt significantly dated. A major downside for me was the bedding; the pillows are very soft, and while an extra one is provided in the wardrobe, it was uncovered and quite dusty.
The service remains largely excellent thanks to the senior staff who uphold the high standards of ********* hospitality. However, one younger female staff member (wearing glasses) was a notable exception. When I asked to use the lobby restroom after the breakfast section had closed, she coldly told me to go to my room. Thankfully, her colleague immediately stepped in and invited us to use the facilities. Later, when I asked her to help dispose of an empty hotel water bottle (as there are no bins in the lobby), she refused and simply pointed us toward the luggage staff.
It’s a shame to see such a lack of hospitality from one individual when the rest of the team is so helpful.
