Greyhound Hotel

Such a shame for a nice pub. This was the second time I stayed at the Greyhound. On entering the bathroom of room 101, the toilet seat hinge was clearly broken and had been previously superglued back together. I reported this immediately and when I returned it was supposedly fixed but broke again as soon as the seat was lifted. Solution -New loo seat!

Wonderful hotel, all the staff were so friendly and the food to die for. Bed was very comfortable and shower was good although the tray did flood and leaked over the top a bit. Nice fluffy towels and a basket of snacks that you could buy and eat. Could gave done with a brighter bulb in the room but that was the only downside. I would definitely recommend The Greyhound as a place to stay, you won’t be disappointed!

My daughter was getting married close by and we decided to take a few of the rooms at the Greyhound. We were a large group and had a lovely meal the evening before and then a delicious breakfast the morning after. The team were friendly and professional and helped us all sit together in the comfortable spaces and nooks of the dining area and bar. They went out of their way to make my daughter and her new husband feel happy. The rooms were clean and cosy with great showers and lovely big beds and we had a fab morning in one of the large rooms all getting makeup and hair done. Thanks so much for your attention, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a family get together in a lovely and relaxed setting.

Great hotel and rooms. Good food and GF options. Good service from Gemma on reception (I changed booking and then back again!), and from manager (I queried the bill and then realised I was wrong!). I was part of a wedding party and we were able to bring a car close to the reception door to load up, and were helped with carrying items to the car. When I checked in super late after the event there was no problem getting room access. They helped the wedding days (the wedding was held elsewhere) go smoothly. Highly recommended.

Pretty location near the ponds. Reasonably spacious room with modern bathroom which was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Nice cooked breakfast and we asked for gluten free bread which arrived promptly. Will definitely return to the hotel. We stayed midweek and there was no noise at all from the bars/restaurant.

We found the hotel and pub very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and comfortable with everything you would need. Although the pub is situated on the main road the rooms are in a separate building to the back so there is no noise from the road. A very relaxing and welcoming stay.

When visiting family back home, we always stay at The Greyhound, Carshalton. A very comfortable and friendly place to stay, home from home. All the Staff, no matter what rank or what job they have are very helpful and friendly. When away from home on business or pleasure , it makes sense to stay where all your needs are catered for!

Room 105, large twin (can be a double). TV and its controls needed adjusting by expert but all is in hand to be sorted. Excellent shower with brilliant water pressure. Beds comfortable, (but found the quilts have a life of their own). Has two `lounge` chairs plus desk and chair. A very good range of cofee, tea, milk is in the room, plus an extensive range of snacks, crisps, nuts etc (to purchase). Unfortunately the room has a `frosted` window (for privacy) due to it facing the rear of the building. You can open the window, not like some hotels. Security seemed good. Wife had lovely b'fast she said. Very large car park and outdoor seating area. Packed with all ages enjoying themselves, wonderful to see. There are umbrellas and small cabins. I loved it. In the late 70's the Greyhound was a watering hole of mine, I'm pleased to say if I lived local I'd be a regular. Bar and eating areas are beautiful. We found both meals and drinks especially to be expensive, but that has to be balanced by the times we live in, inflation, and the fact that the hotel is in a beautiful, historic and popular location. Overall a stunning building well managed by Collum, his wife and a whole host of staff. For visitors who have never stayed/parked at the hotel before, a) they have an IN & and an OUT system, be very careful using either. b) Road leading to hotel twists and turns and has numerous double decker buses, lorries and general traffic crawling by. Once in though, enjoy, it really is worth the effort. By the way, bus services are amazingly regular, consider not using your car whilst visiting. Lastly - if you like a traditional local community pub you must try The Hope in West Street, about 6-7mins walk away. CAMRA Pub of the Year on a few occasions.
