Nice hotel in a quiet location. Check in was simple enough but we did feel pressured to pre-book times for breakfast and facilities on the spot. I understand in the really busy periods, booking is probably a good idea but there was us and maybe 2 other cars in the car park. The place was dead but we still had to book a breakfast slot. Room was clean and had a nice view, the complimentary chocolates and Port left in the room was a nice touch! Wasn't much in the surrounding area but we wanted a quiet couple of nights and we definitely got that.

Wir haben unsere Zeit in diesem Hotel genossen, aber empfehlen, dass es am besten geeignet für Reisende, die ein Auto haben. Es ist nicht sehr nahe zu irgendetwas anderes so erfordert einen Spaziergang oder Fahrt in die nächste Stadt von Rega, auf der anderen Flussbank und über eine Brücke. Wenn Sie das Frühstück oder Abendessen im Hotel haben, ist es weniger ein Problem. Zimmer haben gute Aussichten auf den Fluss, Rega und Weinberge. Sie sind nicht erstaunlich, oder groß, aber sind modern, sauber und haben die Einrichtungen, die die meisten Reisenden brauchen. Das Hotel verfügt über eine entspannte Vibe und das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt eine Terrasse mit Lounges auf der Ebene, wo sich der Außenspa, der Innenpool und die Sauna befinden. (Schwimmkappen für den Pool sind obligatorisch und können kaufbar) , was alles für einen angenehmen Nachmittag entspannt nach dem Geschmack des Weins oder nach dem Kreuzen des Douro-Flusses. Personal mit Freude an den Spa und Terrasse. Wir essen einmal im Restaurant und genossen es sehr. Am zweiten Abend kamen wir sogar wieder zur Schokoladewüste! Das Frühstück war auch gut. Das Restaurant verfügt über eine geräumige Terrasse mit River-Aussichten, die es für eine Freude, dort draußen zu sitzen. Die Parkgarage ist jedoch eine Herausforderung, und die meisten Gäste parken auf der Straße. Insgesamt hatten wir hier eine tolle Zeit.

In Mitten der schönen Weinregion befindet sich das Douro Palace. Bereits die Anfahrt von Porto zum Hotel durch die schöne Landschaft rechtfertigt einen Abstecher in diese Region. Im Hotel angekommen wurden wir freundlich begrüsst und bekamen die Zimmerschlüssel. Die Aussicht aus den Zimmer wirkt beruhigend und naturnah. Die Zimmer sind modern und sauber. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. 
Besonders gefallen hat uns der Pool mit Blick auf den Fluss und die Weinfelder. Das Abendessen wie auch das Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant war sehr lecker. Wir können einen Aufenthalt im Douro Palace jedem Weinliebhaber allen Naturverbundenen empfehlen.

Schöne Aussichten außer, dass mein Zimmer direkt vom Aufzug entfernt war, hatte einen Blick auf einen riesigen Stromturm direkt außerhalb des Fensters, hatte ein laut beeping nicht funktionieren Telefon und Rezeption Mitarbeiter, die nicht kümmerten und hatte Null Interesse an der Befestigung oder Ersetzung. Dann wurde ein Paar mit einem Baby und laut machenden Hund neben meinem Zimmer gestellt. Der Hund begann um 6:40 Uhr zu machen, das Paar scheinbar weiter schlafen, und ich musste mein Zimmer verlassen und einen ruhigen Platz in einem sehr kleinen Raum finden. würde nicht hier wieder reservieren. Die gute Sache ist der kleine Pool, der sauber gehalten wird, die Aussichten so lange, wie Sie nicht in Zimmer 9 oder 10 sind, und das Restaurant, das geeignet ist, wenn begrenzte Mahlzeiten serviert. Daniella ist ein wunderbares Personal und verdient es, Teil eines professionelleren und hilfreicheren Teams zu sein.

Das Hotel ist in mehreren Gebäuden recht weit verstreut in einem Weinberg gelegen. Alles sieht recht hochwertig aus. Der Empfang war etwas kühl, da ich in T-Shirt und kurzer Hose angereist war (wir kamen aus den Bergen). Das Hotel wird von reichen Portugiesen besucht, die sich generell für etwas „Besseres“ halten und sich entsprechend verhalten. Die Bitte um Einhaltung der Nachtruhe wird von einer 25-jährigen reichen Portugiesin etwa mit „F* yourself“ quittiert. Dem angeblich hohen Anspruch des Herrn am Empfang wird das Publikum in der besseren Kleidung also wohl gerecht. Auch entstand der Eindruck, man könne an der Rezeption nicht glauben, dass ich mir ein Essen im Restaurant des Hotels leisten könne. Alles in allem eher nicht empfehlenswert. Zudem liegt das Hotel wirklich am Ende der Welt. Der Ort Amarante ist auch eher ein Dorf. Das Publikum ist eine Kategorie für sich.

Just a one night stay with my family. The river rooms are very nice and confortable, very clean, great view, good airconditioning and silent. We had buffet dinner, the food was very good. Not a huge buffet but the quality was good and the service also. The view form the Restaurant at sun set was great. Breakfast was also buffet, simple but good, the athmosphere was good, just relaxing viewing Douro.

A nice welcoming reception. All the staff appeared to speak english which is very welcome and always makes me realise how lacking the Brits are at languages. We had a deluxe room which had a spectacular view of the river. It also had a small balcony but no seats so seemed a bit pointless. The heat hit us as soon as we opened the door so we tried to lower the air con to 16 degrees but it remained stifling hot. In the end we had to sleep with the balcony door open otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to sleep in the heat (this was March!) The room was really clean with a fridge and complementary bottled water. They had also provided two miniatures of port, custard tarts and biscuits which were very nice and appreciated. However, there is no coffee making facilities in the room. There were nice toiletries but bolted to the walls as is the trend in eco friendly hotels. The pillows were lovely and soft and the towels nice and big. We had a drink in the bar at lunch time and they serve small dishes & tapas. We had a selection of meat, cheeses & breads which was plenty big enough for two for 15 euro. We had half board so had dinner which was lovely. Well presented dishes which were tasty. Mains were around 25 euro if you didn’t have half or full board. Wine 7 euro for a small glass which seemed a bit steep. No table water offered just bottled water to buy. Breakfast provided a good selection of the usual cold meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal & fruit. There was also a small hot food selection. A carafe of your preferred juice was provided. However, the hot drinks were from one machine which meant there was frequently a queue and they weren’t very hot. Not much to ask for fresh tea and coffee at breakfast. The service in the hotel was very friendly throughout which was appreciated.

El hotel es excelente, muy nuevo. Al llegar en la habitación había un plato con fruta fresca, es genial poder contar con opciones saludables, en lugar de los típicos bombones. Las camas súper cómodas, y disponen de carta de almohadas. Todo está cuidado hasta el más mínimo detalle, el buffet del desayuno totalmente recomendable. La ubicación no puede ser más céntrica, todo el personal fue muy amable, y al irnos nos obsequiaron con una botella de la bodega del dueño del establecimiento. Repetiremos seguro ☺️
