The property overlooks the little village and our room had water views as well. It is secluded and quiet and an easy stroll into the village- be prepared to walk off your dinner on return as it is uphill! The owners were welcoming and friendly offering recommendations as requested and local knowledge. The room was spacious and decorated and fitted to a very high standard The shower pressure was amazing and plenty of hot water. The bathroom had double basins and a bidet along with heated towel racks. There was a kitchenette that provided ample options for staying in and cooking along with a draw dishwasher. The Nespresso machine was appreciated. We loved the fact that there were comfortable lounge chairs as well as a veranda with table and chairs. The king size bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. A nice touch were the robes. There is a guest laundry available which we used and it was clean and everything provided for a nominal cost. DVDs were available there as were books for guests . We would love to stay longer next time as 2 nights was not enough. These are passionate hosts who know how to run an establishment. From our many trips to both Islands from across the ditch this establishment is up there with the best.

Heading back from the far, far North we decided to spend a few nights in Russell. We had planned to visit another area slightly further south but couldn’t book into the campsite so we called up Orongo Bay Holiday Park and got a welcome voice in the phone saying “just turn up, we’ve got plenty of space”. So I was a bit grumpy at not getting to the campsite that I wanted to but that soon changed. Friday night was pizza night (the oven had been fired up since about 2pm) and we were encouraged to join in, which the kids did, with great enthusiasm. Anyway, long story short, this is a neat campsite, the new owners are very welcoming and have great plans for the site. Plenty of space, a swimming pool, bbq, pizza oven. What more do you want?! Great place to base yourself to explore Russell and the surrounding area. Oh, did I mention the kiwi and the kiwi trail? No?? You’ll have to visit to find out more!!!

Alles war sehr sauber, was groß ist. Liebe Schneebleche. Kleine Verbesserungen jedoch könnten einen großen Unterschied machen. Warum würde jemand immer noch ein Pfeilpapier verwenden? Es bedeutet nur, dass jeder zweimal so viel verwendet, so dass keine Gesamteinsparungen. Kein Haartrockner oder Gewebe, die in diesen Tagen ziemlich Standard sind. 'Penny pinching!' Auch das Zimmer hatte einen schrecklichen Tisch zusammengestellt, Kommen Sie zum Sitz, kommen Sie zum Kühlschrank und Versorgungshalter. Es war ein Mist. Kein Raum für etwas und ein bisschen von einer Katastrophe DIY ich erwarten. Ein Stuhl wird an jedem gestellt, der glaubt, dass dies ein Tisch ist, aber keine Möglichkeit, eine Platte vor Ihnen passen kann. Sehr kaum genug Platz, um etwas zu dienen. Kein Tauchbereich, das meines Erachtens ein wichtiges Hygieneproblem ist, da es bedeutet, Tassen und Glas usw. im Bad Handbecken gewaschen werden. Kleine Verbesserungen könnten einen großen Unterschied machen. Für den Preis erwarten wir besser vor allem im Vergleich zu anderen Orten, wo wir verblieben.
