Travelodge Carlisle Todhills

We were returning home to Wales from running the Edinburgh half marathon and needed a stop over for the night. The Travelodge Todhills I would definitely recommend as it was clean tidy and very quiet. The young man at the front desk(I did not get his name) was very helpful guiding us to get some cheaper fuel and the bay place to eat. He is a credit to your company.

We stay here as a mid way point travelling on our holiday - the hotel on every occasion we have stayed we have received a warm welcome despite arriving late at night, rooms are always clean with plenty of towels, pillows and tea coffee etc - I had to ring prior to arrival this year with a room request and it was sorted no problem - will be staying here next year too, but would highly recommend to anybody.

Although on the M6 really no noise in the room, all the staff were lovely. I called the site with a query and was really kindly spoken to, my issue discussed and sorted out.

It's a rather dingy hotel. Our one night stay (thank goodness) was on the Southbound side. It's looking very tired and needs updating.

We just needed a cheap stopover on our drive to Scotland and the location was good, being just off the M6 and fairly close to Carlisle. The exterior was very shabby, a car park with potholes and generally looked quite dodgy and unkempt. The reception area was tired but clean. Check in was quick. Our room was clean and tidy, basic and no frills, but totally adequate for our needs. It's located right near a busy motorway so there is some traffic noise but nothing too obtrusive. I had phoned in advance because I needed a ground floor room and the member of staff I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. The staff on reception when we checked in and checked out were polite but seemed bored and fed up. I can't imagine it being the most exciting job or the most exciting place to work so I don't blame them. We had no issues with the service or the room, and you get what you pay for, just cheap and basic, nothing in particular to recommend it other than that.

Dismal place, only booked it because we couldn't get anywhere else. Staff were friendly & room was clean. Worst sleep ever!! The room above must've had every floorboard loose, 45 minutes of it i went & complained but was told there was nothing they could do. Avoid this place!!!

No issue with the stay at the property. Outside approach road had potholes that had to be navigated around.

Stayed at this hotel for one night, never again. Had two rooms both of which were not very clean. Dust everywhere, marks all over one of the bathrooms & marks on the furniture. The chairs in both rooms were full of crumbs clearly not been cleaned for some time. The floors of the rooms were incredibly noisy when you walked on them & there were doors banging throughout the night. We arrived at around 10pm there were no outside lights at all, the car park was in complete darkness.

The receptionist here on our arrival was wonderful and very helpful Local Costa Coffee on the site staff were also wonderful! However Travel lodge itself was tired and had a strange “ chemical” smell which although faint was off putting If you are exhausted it is perfect stop being right on the M6 southbound but of course that means its very noisy- that was MY booking fault! Sorry wont stay again BUT your staff are WONDERFUL!!!!
