Wonderful castle hotel in Umbria. Beautiful room, facilities, staff were amazing. Such a peaceful, idyllic location for easy day trips to surrounding sites. Really good restaurant.

We stayed for one night at this beautiful location. We also made a reservation for the restaurant that evening. We called one day beforehand to confirm our reservation. Upon arrival the reception didn't know about this, so we asked again. When entering the restaurant, they also didn't know about it. This already were signs that the organisation isn't structured and communication between depar**ents is poor. The food was disappointing. The tagiatelli with ragu tasted like it was made a few days ago and heated up again; a shame for an Italian restaurant if you ask me. After the horrible Primi, we decided not to take a Secundi or dessert. Other guests also did not seem too happy about their food. However, it wasn't that expensive, so expectations can't be that high. The staff from the spa and welness arrived at 6:30AM. I can tell because they were loudly chatting in the courtyard of the castle. The cleaning ladies decided to make sure everyone was waken up by talking in the corridors at 8AM. To wrap it up: beautiful location, horrible service and disappointing food. Looking at previous comments, on which we decided to book this hotel, my guess is that it has been taken over or that the place lost its glory.

Fantstic place. Really serviceminded staff. At first we got a bit old-smelly room. They were so sorry and immediately we good a new very nice room. Nice pool-area, very good restaurant, very nice livingroom with a bar to sit in after dinner. Stunning view. Close to Gubbio, a must-go.

Nonostante si è arrivati in serata causa lavoro, e con anche brutto tempo, accoglienza ottima, camere bellissime e fortunatamente la mattina dopo la ottima colazione con prodotti locali e dolci fatti in casa siamo riusciti a fare una passeggiata panoramica del posto ma ci torneremo a breve per assaporare meglio il paesaggio, la location e la cucina. Ho soggiornato presso il Castello di Baccaresca in occasione del weekend lungo di Pasqua che l’agenzia di viaggi di cui mi servo abitualmente organizza ogni anno. L’albergo si trova in una posizione tranquilla nei pressi di Branca, frazione di Gubbio. La struttura, che è immersa nel verde di uno splendido parco in cui c’è anche un laghetto, è un vero e proprio castello, i cui interni sono curati in ogni dettaglio. La stanza assegnatami (una doppia uso singola) era accogliente, arredata con cura e molto spaziosa. Bagno ampio, pulito e funzionale, con un’ottima linea cortesia. Collegamento wi-fi buono. La mattina era un piacere svegliarsi, aprire le finestre e godere subito dello splendido panorama della campagna umbra. Bellissima la sala da pranzo ricavata nelle cantine del castello, così come la sala per la colazione con i suoi affreschi. La prima colazione era a buffet, con una vasta gamma di prelibatezze dolci e salate. Pranzo e cena con un’ottima scelta di pietanze locali, preparate veramente con grande cura. Eccezionali il ‘Tartuovo’ e la torta al ribes e melograno. Il pranzo di Pasqua è stato veramente gustoso, soprattutto l’antipasto misto di prodotti locali e la coratella con i carciofi. Il personale è di una gentilezza squisita, mi è sembrato veramente di stare in famiglia. In definitiva, ho trascorso davvero una bella e riposante vacanza.
