This is more of a lodge than a hotel with multiple connected wings. I chose it because it's after memorial day and I wanted a pool, given I was arriving early from the east coast. I get to the hotel and the pool is closed. At a holiday inn. After memorial day. No notice. Not an email explaining it or on their website. I even called the hotel to change my reservation and no mention of it. The rooms are large enough - too large for the amount of furniture in them - but the pool was closed. It appears they set it up for tomorrow but I'm leaving for work at 7 am. Even if I had called they have a 24 hour no cancel policy so i would have been charged for the room no matter what. So, the hotel itself is rambling and there's a sister property that's a Ramada across some odd vast desolate field. They look exactly the alike. Same architect, same design. But separate hotels. The hotel decor is questionable. There are expanses of halls that scream for work - and someone with a design esthetic to fix them. There's just not enough furniture anywhere and what they do have is pushed up against the walls in every room hallway, lobby etc. This area is in a no mans land island with very few amenities and shuttered stores. No small little town center but a grouping of suburban buildings with a best buy, target, staples, tj maxx, etc that have empty shelves and no customers. Most close at 6 pm. Dump this place and stay in town. It's depressing. And the pool was closed. Ugh.

Du wirst bereit für den Tag mit ”Make Your Own Pancakes, ” westliche Omeletten, Kuchen und Grau oder andere heiße Gegenstände, die kalten Favoriten und tapfer 100% Arabica-Bohnenkaffee.” Aber als wir ankamen, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass sie keine Frühstücksangebote angeboten haben, außer dem angrenzenden Hotelrestaurant, bei dem man Mahlzeiten kaufen konnte. Wir brachten nicht Frühstücksfrüchte, weil wir dieses kostenlose Frühstück auf der offiziellen Webseite angekündigt wurden *Wir fühlen uns gelogen und betrogen, Als ob wir für einen Dienst nur für die Suche nach dem Dienst bezahlt hatten, fehlte ein Schlüsselkomponente.

Wir haben hier zweimal geblieben. Beide Male waren die Zimmer sauber und grundlegendVielleicht sogar ein wenig modern. Das würden Sie nicht wirklich von dieser Hotelkette erwarten, ehrlich. Aber nach dem Aufenthalt realisierte ich, dass ich wahrscheinlich meine Handys verließ ($200.00-ish Sony Ohrringe), so habe ich gefragt. Die Frau auf dem Frontdesk, die das Telefon antwortete, war extrem hart. Sie bot nicht einmal an, die verlorenen zu prüfen und fand und sagte mir, sie hätten sie wahrscheinlich bereits geschenkt, offensichtlich besorgt, den Anruf zu beenden. Als ich mit ihrem Manager zu sprechen fragte, sagte sie, sie sei ein Manager. Dann fragte ich ihren Namen. An diesem Punkt lachte sie buchstäblich und hang auf mich. Ich rief an diesem Punkt an, neben mir, vor allem angesichts der Tatsache, dass sie nicht einmal die verlorene Check und gefunden. Nach diesem Anruf rief mich ein Manager (eigener Manager) zurück. Sie sagte mir, sie hatte gerade eine Nachricht von der Firma erhalten und war sofort da, überprüfte, wo sie möglicherweise sein könnten. Nachdem sie mich an diesem Tag schnell zurückrufen, um mir zu sagen, dass sie sie nicht finden konnte. Der große Bummer, aber sie entschuldigte sich, war wirklich entschuldigt und erhielt meinen Aufenthalt vollständig zurück. Lange Geschichte kurz, dieser Ort hat sich selbst belohnt. Wir werden hier noch einmal bleiben, vor allem für Flugreisen, aber hoffentlich wurde die Frau am Frontbüro diszipliniert und wird uns keine weiteren Fragen geben.

This was our first time in Portland and we had no real idea what expect of the city and surrounding area. If you do any reading, your head can spin. Only you can decide what you can tolerate. We were there for a wedding with a big, multi-generational group and this hotel was perfect for our purposes. As suites, the rooms had more-than-typical-hotel-room space. We used the kitchen area for leftovers and snacks. The extra sink was handy. The lighting was decent, the USB ports and number of outlets were good. Everyone had some room to spread out. The beds were what I expect from Marriott - super comfortable and we all slept well. Our room faced the interior courtyard and none of us had problems with noise. The hallways were noisy with kids running, but that's everywhere now. There were two things about the room that stood out and made the made it hard to maneuver for us, and that was the lack of drawer storage and that the only clothing storage was the hallway between the bedroom and bathroom. With four of us in the room and only TWO drawers, where are we all supposed to put almost a weeks worth of clothing? Yes, they are big drawers, but not nearly big enough. The closet, as usual, has a minimal number of hangers. We pack as lightly as possible but we were there for a special event and had some extra clothing. To add insult to injury, the bathroom door swings into the space where the two drawers open and the closet doors open. If a person tries to come out of the bathroom when another person is either in the closet or has a drawer open, there will be a collision (or the person in the bathroom is stuck inside). It's a huge cluster. Who thought that was a good idea? Maybe other rooms aren't designed like this. The common areas of the hotel were clean and well kept. The room card was needed to access the elevator and public restrooms. The breakfast in the morning was great. Lilia, one of the women who worked in the breakfast area, was so kind to our family, especially my mother-in-law. The workers, and she in particular, provided exceptional service every morning. Usually I'm not impressed with hotel breakfasts but I thought this one did it quite well. In the evenings, we almost always gathered at happy hour. With folks in our group of different ages from different parts of the country, being able to hang out together and relax in such a nice environment was what we needed. David and Ted were attentive and charming. They kept the drinks and appetizers flowing. For this, again, the hotel was perfect for us and the service was top notch. Transportation is easy at this location. Union Station is so close. The streetcar is not far. It's never difficult to get an Uber. There are also many restaurants and stores to explore just in the nearby neighborhood. We had a rental car delivered for three days of our time in Portland, to be able to explore beyond the city. It was very easy, and cheap, to park the car in the nearby parking garage. We worried

Beim check-in wurde mir gefragt, wie oft ich das Zimmer gereinigt wollte! Es wurde mir jeden anderen Tag vorgeschlagen, als ich „so lange“ (nachten 5) blieb, aber zu meiner Überraschung wurde das Zimmer erst nach der ersten Nacht gereinigt... Die Umgebung ist auch nicht sehr angenehm mit vielen Hobos in Türen schlafen und umgeben von Kleidern. Auf der positiven Seite war das WLAN sehr gut und das Frühstücks- und Essensangebot waren noch besser. Zusammenfassend, kein Ort, um zu empfehlen oder zu überprüfen.

This hotel is very convenient to the Expo Center. It’s clean, the staff is very warm and friendly. My room was ready upon check in. Breakfast was adequate. It’s free, so not complaining. Also had free coffee in the lobby. I was here on business so didn’t have time to check out the pool or fitness room. Ample parking, but be aware that they now charge of $10 for parking (staff failed to mention this when asked if I had a vehicle. Just gave me the pass to put in my car. I didn’t realize there was a charge until I checked my bill. ) Rooms were quiet and clean. And I felt safe walking in late at night.
