Hotel Casa Conley Del Mar

Located less than 10 minutes from Puerto Viejo which ensures peace and rest but close enough to the action and the beach. Only the entrance to the hotel is an adventure, a road in excellent condition between the mountains that leads to the hotel. From our second floor room we could see the sea and enjoy the sounds of the mountain. The service is excellent and very personal. The rooms are spacious, clean and well ventilated. The indoor pool is an afternoon gathering place regardless of the weather. Ample and safe parking near the rooms. This hotel is a little gem tucked away in the jungle, but still close enough to the main road for easy access. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom and shower were very good. The pool was refreshing and well maintained. Scott, the owner, is very helpful and friendly. You should have a car to get up the hill to the hotel, but we didn't have one and we managed. Our taxi drove us up when we arrived with our luggage, and we managed to walk up at the end of a day of touring. It's a short bus ride to Peurto Viejo and Cahuita, or you can hitch a ride from a passing vehicle. The beauty of the place is its peacefulness, especially after spending a day in the tourist spots. You will hear plenty of monkeys, and may see the sloths that regularly hang around near the pool area. Some toucans also flew by. The Chocolate Trail Museum is right across the road, and well worth a visit. The hotel does not currently offer breakfast, and there are no kitchen facilities in the room, so you'll have to eat meals elsewhere, or bring in portable food items which don't need refrigeration, which we did. There are some menus posted in the office for nearby restaurants which deliver to the hotel, and we had a couple of good meals delivered during our week long stay. We would certainly stay here again, and are grateful for Scott's kind assistance.

Lovely owner. Great service. Very clean, and well kept rooms. Amazing view as you are a little higher up a hill(mountain) pool is well maintained. You can hear the monkeys nearby and we even saw a slith hanging out in a tree next to the pool! Great place to stay near Puerto viejo but without all the noise of the larger town!

Great place to relax and unwind. Beautiful place on the hillside overlooking area with a Oceanview. 10 minutes to beach and town Puerto Viejo. Waterfalls near by. Very clean rooms, great service and well maintained property. Saw iguanas, howler monkeys, sloth, toucans, butterflies, owls and all types of wildlife. Great pool to relax in. Mosquitoes were almost nonexistent. Gated as well. Owner is awesome and is on the property if needed.

Tucked back in the mountainside but still has a breathtaking view of the ocean. This 12 room hotel is the perfect place to relax, unwind and truly feel as though you are in the middle of the rain forest. Our host Scott was wonderful and took care of everything we needed. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the AC kept us cool on the warmer days and hanging out by and in the pool was one of our favorite things to do. We got to see a sloth in one of his trees, many many howler monkeys , toucans, hummingbirds, gorgeous butterflies and birds galore. Keep your camera ready at all times. He is conveniently located in between Cahuita and Puerto Viejo so heading to both places every day to shop, eat and drink a cerveza was very easy. We rented a car with Adobe in Puerto Viejo and it was a great experience, we highly recommend them if you need a rental car. You must also check out the waterfall in Bribri and Punta Uva beaches!. We’ll definitely be back!

Scott and the folks at Casa Conley are amazing! Comfortable, secure and out of the way,,,but if you have questions, Scott has answers!! Make sure you say hello to the owl who likes to hang by the pool at night ;-D

Some facilities and services are mentioned in the hotel description like safe and 24h reception do simply nor exist. Bathroom is very basic and rooms are basic too. No closet to hang clothes. No fridge and no safe. We arrived after a flat tire at 9 PM and nobody was there to greet us. The host was not answering to our what’s app messages so we called him. He was not very polite to be honest and we would not recommend the place. Price- value ratio does not fit.

Spent 3 days recently with my wife here. What a surprise. Clean, solid mattress and GREAT hot shower. Liked location. Same distance to Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. Scott, the owner, great host with lots of information.
