The Crescent Hotel

We booked the hotel for just a one night stay whilst visiting the Open Air Theatre. The connections via event buses from the train station just behind the hotel are fabulous. This hotel will be at the top of my list for a get away in Scarborough when I need to be guaranteed of fabulous service, great food and comfort. The staff are just the best, genuine and they all seem happy to work there. Obviously very valued. We arrived and managed to park outside on the crescent, we popped inside and reception gave us a permit that is £6 per day (added to our bill) The crescent is a lovely haven away from the bustle of south beach. We had a very good Sunday lunch in the bar, again along with great service. The best was yet to come, our breakfast. I think I will be thinking about this traditional English breakfast for a while...delicious. Many Guests seem to be regulars and I can see why.

Hard to believe this is only a three * hotel. Attended a book signing session during the afternoon & booked to stay overnight. Rooms clean, tidy and… quiet. Food was good which made trying to find an evening meal unnecessary. All told, a very pleasant experience. Many thanks to ALL staff. 👍

What a gem of a hotel We stopped in this hotel in May ( 2024 ) for six nights and what a pleasant experience it was. Our first point of contact upon arrival was with Richard who immediately offered to get our luggage from the car! This is a privately owned hotel and the difference between this one and the large conglomerates is exceptional. There is a small but sufficient lift to most of the bedrooms Bedroom we stayed in room 14 this is a large room with a spacious bathroom with a shower over the bath. The room was very comfortable well appointed and decorated, the large bed was eminently comfortable. There is more than adequate drawer and wardrobe capacity for a couples clothing for a long stay.( which in these days of modern minimalist furniture in hotels is to me a great plus ) Breakfast A selection of freshly cut fruit, cereals and juices are available “buffet style” a wide selection of hot food is available and is prepared and cooked to your requirements the full Yorkshire breakfast will certainly keep you contented for most of the day. Dinner This is served in the Reflections Restaurant which is also opened to the public. The chef uses local produce, the menu is varied and satisfying. The portions are large and fulfilling. The food is cooked to an exceptional standard and is superbly presented. Bars The Brunswick Residents Bar This is an exceedingly comfortable and very well stocked bar. The Crescent Public Bar This is a bright, pleasant and relaxing bar, serving Tapas style food and sharing platters ( which is prepared and cooked in the same kitchen as the restaurant to the same high standard. ) While we were there live entertainment was provided on Thursday , Friday, Saturday and Sunday these nights were well patronised by a welcoming and friendly local audience and were most enjoyable. Overall view The Hotel was built in the nineteenth century and has been updated and maintained to a high standard. The cleanliness of the whole of the hotel, the bedroom, the restaurant, the bars indeed all of the areas that i could see are consistently noteworthy and the whole of the housekeeping and cleaning staff should be congratulated on such high standards. Staff Each and every member of staff are a credit to the hotel the service they provide is unquestionably customer focused, all through my stay i NEVER saw a member of staff with a mobile phone in their hand !!, nothing at all was too much trouble for them and indeed one morning when there was a rather awkward couple at breakfast the staff took it all in their stride and didn’t let it fade them. The owners of this establishment should be appreciative and honoured of them all. We have been to Scarborough many times over the last few years this was our first visit to The Crescent Hotel but we hope to return there very soon.

We visited the bar , stood there for 5-10mins until i was served ?? No staff on the bar at all ?? Lovely bar area .. well decorated and the live singer was superb ... Returned to the bar a bit later for a refill , barman had no idea i was standing waiting to be served ? Again another 5mins ??

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the superior room which was very spacious. The hotel and rooms are clean and the food is excellent. Breakfast was cooked on request so not only was it delicious it was fresh We enjoyed our stay that much that we have already booked a further holiday there

Another excellent stay at this family run hotel. We have stayed in other places in Scarborough but this is by far the best. Rooms are large and elegant and the food is excellent - you can have dinner in the restaurant or a meal in the bar. The location is great too, not far from the beach ( via Cliff lift if you need it) and close to the town centre.

Excellent three night stay in this lovely, very well managed and maintained hotel. Great executive room with a view and really comfortable seating area. Super comfortable king size bed , fabulous bathroom with claw foot bath and power shower. The included breakfast was delicious offering lots of choices and had gluten free options. Welcoming and friendly, professional staff will definitely visit again. Thank you !

A treat of a -pace, lovely rooms; clean and warm and tastefully decorated, friendly welcome: staff smiley and kind and food was just what we needed. Great location and perfect for a weekend away by the sea. Wouldn’t change anything and we will return for definite.

Wished we’d found this gem before, bang in the middle of Scarborough, parking no problem hotel offers permits over your stay for a small charge, very warm welcome from Richard who couldn’t do enough, good Sunday lunch in the bar, lovely spacious room and bathroom with bags of hot water for a bath. The bar in the evening had some great music on, didn’t get the singers name but believe he works in the hotel too, fab vocals!! Breakfast in the morning excellent, good choice, fresh and tasty, wish we’d found this hotel before best one we’ve stayed in on our many visits to this wonderful town, thankyou🙏
