The stunning picture of the Boutique resort online doesn't come close to how spectacular the resort and the surrounding area is; in reality. My family stayed their for 4 nights (with a 9 year old child) and we absolutely loved it! About the property: The boutique resort is very impressive, the wooden interiors are splendid, the spacious beds are super comfortable, the bathroom is a wonderful surprise. Location: Their beautiful beach has breathtaking sunset view, the resort is serene and quite; just a few minutes walk/cycling distant away from some fun cafes, restaurants & bars. It's a few hundred meters away from the turtle point beach where you can swim with turtles in the shallow end. Food and services: Amazing selection of scrumptious food, served by super friendly staff who go the extra mile to help the guests. A very special and heart felt thanks to the management of the resort, we got stuck in an unfortunately personal situation (won't divulge into detail) but Mike and Tina both went out of your their way to help us, a very big hug-filled thanks to them!

We stayed Jan29–Feb2 2024 and had the most wonderful time. The lodge is everything all the good reviews say but we were still surprised by the quality of the lovely grounds, beautiful room, meticulous attention given to every detail by the warm and extremely attentive manager and staff, and the added extras that are just included (because most places would nickel and dime for a lot of what LL just throws in to make you feel welcome and comfortable). The most obvious example is the food. A gorgeous breakfast and dinner is included in the nightly rate. The owners Bill and Anya (restaurant owners from Belgium, go figure), and Chef Jiwa and his team have created breakfast and dinner experiences that truly became the sun around which each of our vacation days orbited - that sounds hyperbolic, but it’s actually completely true in our case! We also had an unforgettable and delicious sate lunch during our beach day at Gili Meno, and along with the chef had a team of really fun staff there with us to fulfill our every wish and need :) We went for a hike one morning with a great hiking guide (taking us up a ridge with spectacular views - one we could not have explored on our own - and through a Buddhist village, and more - thank you Edy!) and I had an absolutely glorious massage the last afternoon. If we’d stayed one more day I would have asked for another. The weather was perfect - like most tropical forecasts, what looked sort of rainy initially turned into sun and scattered clouds :) In our short time there we were utterly spoiled in the best way, received a generosity of experiences far above and beyond our expectations, and have nothing but good things to say about the oasis that is Lombok Lodge. Go! You will not be disappointed!! (And definitely do the LL shuttle from the airport - get into that Lombok Lodge happy bubble the moment you step on island!)

Neues Hotel, spektakuläre große Villen mit unglaublicher Aussicht und privaten Pools. Matratze, Sofa und sehr bequeme Amacas. Schlaf. Exzellenter Service und leckeres Essen, die Gegend ist sehr ruhig, aber unten gibt es einen Taxistand und in 5 Minuten sind Sie im Zentrum von Sengigi. Die Massage im Spa war ausgezeichnet. Das Unangenehmste hat nichts mit dem Hotel zu tun, aber auf dem gleichen Hügel gibt es eine sehr aktive Moschee mit Lautsprechern, in der nicht nur die Musik zur Gebetszeit ab 4 Uhr morgens zu hören ist (was bezaubernd ist), sondern auch die Gebete werden gehört und gesungen für Stunden und Stunden. Es ist schwer, sich so auszuruhen und zu entspannen.

I very much warn AGAINST booking at this hotel and want to share my experience with Selong Selo on here to spare others the nightmare we experienced: This hotel essentially took our money and made it impossible to get a refund or rebooking. We had booked a stay at Selong Selo for 2020 - unfortunately Indonesia stopped tourism entries due to Covid and we were stuck discussing back and forth with the hotel, about what to do with our reservation. The first thing we realized was that communication with this hotel is extremely slow and difficult, since very single time someone new responded in what I would deem pretty bad English. Since 2020 we have sent countless emails (many left unanswered) and two years later are yet to get a refund or rebooking for our prepaid reservation of 1.500€. In this time Selong Selo staff has given us the hardest time I have ever experienced with any hotel during Covid: They set absurd deadlines for rebookings (essentially asking us to travel when there were no flights to Indonesia), downgraded the villa category we booked and then took days off our booking in case we rebooked. To be honest we don’t really see how we will get our money back and all this feels like a scam through and through. My verdict is this: Should something go wrong, you are stuck with this hotel and will lose your money. There are plenty of professional hotels in Lombok, so steer clear of Selong Selo!

Das The Kayana Beach ist ein wunderschönes Hotel am Strand von Lombok mit einzelnen Villen. Jede Villa hat einen eigenen Außenbereich mit Pool. Die Villen in vorderster Reihe (Beach Front Villa) haben Meerblick und direkten Zugang zum Meer. Wenn man im eigenen Garten liegt, hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf die zahlreichen Palmen am Strand. Als wir dort waren (Mai 2023) waren nur wenige Gäste im Hotel. Dadurch war es in der ganzen Anlage und am Strand sehr ruhig, was für uns perfekt zum Entspannen war. Man kann im Hotel Schnorchel-Equipment und Kanus kostenfrei ausleihen, was wir toll fanden. Die Gili Inseln sind lediglich eine Bootsfahrt von 10 Minuten entfernt, sodass ein Ausflug dorthin leicht möglich ist. Wir haben in einer Beach Front Villa übernachtet, die sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und sehr geräumig ist. Das Doppelbett ist riesengroß (2,20 m breit) und sehr gemütlich. Die Minibar ist bei Anreise mit kostenlosem Wasser und kostenlosen Softdrinks gefüllt. Wasser wird jeden Tag kostenlos aufgefüllt. Das Badezimmer ist ein wahrer Traum. Es gibt eine freistehende Badewanne, eine große Außendusche, ein WC in einem separatem Raum sowie einen abgegrenzten Schminktisch. Vom Badezimmer aus gibt es einen direkten Zugang zum Pool, was total cool ist. So kann man morgens direkt aus dem Bett in den Pool gehen. Auch der Außenbereich ist wunderschön und toll gepflegt. Überall stehen Büsche mit gelben Blüten (leider kenne ich den Namen nicht). Vor dem Pool hat man eine kleine Terrasse mit Sonnenliegen, einem Tisch und Stühlen. Uns hat besonders gut gefallen, dass man jederzeit Getränke und Essen in seine Villa bestellen konnte. Wir haben den Service mehrfach genutzt. Unsere Bestellung wurde jedes Mal innerhalb von kürzester Zeit geliefert. Sogar das Frühstück kann man ohne Aufpreis im Zimmer genießen. Am Anreisetag wurde uns kostenfrei eine „Tea Time“ mit Tee, Kaffee und leckerem Kuchen serviert. Das Hotel verfügt über das Restaurant „The Blues“, das etwas höher gelegen ist. Dadurch hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Bucht und das Meer. Durch die Hügellage sind natürlich einige Stufen zu überwinden. Wer nicht gut zu Fuß ist (oder keine Lust auf die Stufen hat :-), kann jederzeit bei den Mitarbeitern Bescheid geben. Sie holen einen dann mit dem Buggy ab. Wir haben im Restaurant jeden Tag Frühstück gegessen, was wirklich sensationell war. Das Frühstück ist, wie in Indonesien üblich, A La Carte. Die Auswahl und Qualität war außergewöhnlich gut. Zu jedem Frühstück bekommt ihr frische Früchte und Croissants/Gebäck mit Marmelade gereicht - behaltet das bei eurer Bestellung im Hinterkopf, damit ihr nicht zu viel bestellt, was ihr am Ende nicht aufessen könnt :-) Im The Kayana Beach waren wirklich ausnahmslos ALLE Mitarbeiter außergewöhnlich freundlich und hilfsbereit.
