The Lido Marini beach is a long tongue of fine golden sand with shallow waters. Precisely for this reason, Lido marini is also known for the "secche di Ugento", i.e. a large submarine plateau, which extends up to 3-4 km from the coast and can reach a depth of 5-6 meters. In addition to the beauty of the landscape, these places guarantee total relaxation, considered the more peaceful and tranquil vocation of Lido Marini compared to the more fashionable Santa Maria di Leuca or Torre San Giovanni. Furthermore, given the shallow waters, snorkellers will be thrilled by admiring the enchanting seabed rich in flora and fauna, especially at dawn and dusk. The most striking attraction is certainly that of the so-called "Secche D'ugento". These shallows, which in the past centuries were the cause of numerous shipwrecks, are a real place of worship for scuba diving. In fact, in this area, in addition to the wreck of the Mercantile Liesen, stranded among the rocks, divers can admire a unique spectacle, made up of submerged and outcropping rocks that hide dense marine vegetation and a rich fauna that is hard to forget.
