YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

GGastnutzerDas Zimmer war sehr sauber, und das Personal war absolut unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und willkommen in unserem Aufenthalt.
Die Parkplatzsituation war jedoch ein Albtraum. Die einzige Option war die Parkplätze, die nicht im Voraus klar gemacht wurden. Die Einfahrt war verwirrend, und wenn wir endlich die Einfahrt fanden, lernten wir, dass die Valet am Tag bei $63 obligatorisch war. Die Mitarbeiter des Väters waren sehr freundlich, aber ich bevorzuge die Flexibilität, um zu parken und zuzugreifen mein Auto auf meinem eigenen Zeitplan. Es gab ein nahe gelegenes Hotel, das Parkplatz für $40/day bietet, aber die Back-and-Out-Logistik machte diese Option unpraktisch.
Das Zimmer selbst war stilvoll und gut gepflegt, aber sehr klein mit minimaler Privatsphäre. Ich reiste mit Kindern für einen fröhlichen Wettbewerb, so hatten wir viel Geschirr, und es gab einfach nicht genug Platz. Das Zimmer hatte nur einen kleinen Tisch unter dem TV, ein paar Nachtstunden und einen Bänkno realen Raum für zusätzliche Gepäck oder um sich bequem zu bewegen. Das Layout war eng, vor allem zwischen dem Bett und Möbel.
Das Badezimmer war ein großer Nebenteil. Es gab keine separate Badezimmerfläche, sondern eine Dusche und Toilette ohne vollen Wand oder Tür für die Privatsphäre. Mit einer Gruppe junger Mädchen im Zimmer machte das Dinge wirklich schlimm, vor allem, wenn ich mich nicht gut fühlte und einen privaten Raum brauchte. Es gab keine Fan oder Tür, um das Badezimmer vollständig zu schließen, was ein großes Problem war.
Während das Zimmer insgesamt sauber war, bemerkte ich Staub in einigen Bereichen auf den oberen Hüllen, über dem Kühlschrank und auf dem Duschekopf. Ich mache immer eine Wäsche, wenn ich inchecke, und während die Boden und Oberflächen im Allgemeinen sauber waren, waren die schwereren zu erreichen Punkte verpasst. Es gab auch nicht genügend Hügel oder Platz, um Kleidung oder Ausrüstung zu hängen und zu organisieren.
Insgesamt waren die Sauberkeit und das Personal großartig, aber der Mangel an Raum, Privatsphäre und klaren Parkinformationen nahmen wirklich von der Erfahrung ab. Aufgrund des Zimmers allein würde ich dieses Hotel nicht wieder wählen, besonders wenn ich mit Kindern reise oder für ein Ereignis, wo der Raum ein Muss ist.

AAnonymer BenutzerFür den Preis ist das Ambiente wirklich fair. Allerdings fahren die Shuttlebusse vom Flughafen viel zu selten. Es heißt, sie fahren alle 30 Minuten, aber man muss anrufen, damit sie kommen, und dann muss man ständig Ausschau halten und winken, wenn sie da sind. Die Busse zum Flughafen sind pünktlich. Obwohl der Check-in für 16 Uhr angegeben ist, geht es tatsächlich schon um 14 Uhr. Man muss aber mit einer Warteschlange rechnen, wenn man um 14 Uhr kommt.

GGastnutzerMy wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised.
Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience.
Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration.
Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website.
Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price.
The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet.
Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

NNeel KapadiaUnser Aufenthalt in diesem kürzlich renovierten Hotel war durchweg positiv. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön modernisiert und wirken mit ihren komfortablen neuen Möbeln frisch und zeitgemäß. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist die äußerst günstige Lage mit guter Anbindung an die Innenstadt und die Autobahnen. Allerdings hat ein Flughafenhotel auch einen entscheidenden Nachteil: den Lärm. Der ständige Fluglärm ist deutlich wahrnehmbar, besonders nachts. Lärmempfindliche Gäste sollten unbedingt Ohrstöpsel mitbringen. Davon abgesehen war alles hervorragend – freundliches Personal, saubere Einrichtungen und tolle Annehmlichkeiten. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten, der Lärm sollte jedoch unbedingt berücksichtigt werden.

KKiranjithDer Aufenthalt war wirklich schön und angenehm. Ich würde definitiv empfehlen, hierher zu kommen. Gutes kostenloses Frühstück und die Zimmer waren sauber und komfortabel. Die Rezeptionistin war sehr freundlich und sie haben uns sogar ein Upgrade für unser Zimmer gegeben. Einziger Nachteil ist, dass das Hotel 30 Minuten von LA und 50 Minuten von den Universal Studios entfernt ist, wenn viel Verkehr ist.

DDDDBXXDieses Hollywood Motel 6 in Los Angeles genießt eine ideale Lage, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hollywood Walk of Fame entfernt. Außerdem gibt es in der Nähe viele Restaurants und Lebensmittelgeschäfte, was das Reisen sehr bequem macht. Das Zimmer ist sauber und komfortabel, die Klimaanlage und das Warmwasser sind sehr leistungsstark und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hoch. Der Service an der Rezeption war herzlich und freundlich und das Einchecken verlief schnell und effizient, sodass sich die Leute wie zu Hause fühlten. Es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze und ist daher auch für Touristen mit dem eigenen Auto gut geeignet. Das Gesamterlebnis ist sehr zufriedenstellend und es ist eine gute Wahl für eine Reise nach Los Angeles.
