Burnside B&B

We traveled almost a week before our stay at Burnside and it felt like we were stopping in to stay with family! Our room was immaculate and very welcoming, spacious and with every attention to detail. My husband and I traveled with our 13-year old son, who slept on the pull-out bed, and he said it was the most comfortable sleep of our trip. The breakfast was excellent and Sharon was the perfect hostess. We throughly enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back again!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Burnside B&B. You step in to Sharon and Pete's, lovingly restored, and beautifully decorated home, and are made to feel truly welcomed. We stayed in room 4 on the 2nd floor, which was a great size, with the handy addition of a couch at the end of the bed. There's everything you need for your stay, the whole house was spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. Then, to top it all off, there's a fabulous selection on offer for breakfast, something for everyone. I had the cooked breakfast which Sharon cooked beautifully, catering to my dislike of a few items, and my partner had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast which he told me was "REALLY good, just how he likes it". All of this was accompanied by toast and her delicious homemade jam or marmalade, a real treat! Burnside is in a lovely location on the edge of town, with just a 10 minute walk, along the old railway line track, back into the centre. Parking is easy, we had no trouble finding a space in the road opposite. I would definitely recommend staying at Burnside to anyone, and look forward to returning, hopefully later this year.

It was our second trip to Keswick but first time staying at Burnside B & B. We were warmly welcomed in and enjoyed our stay in the cosy double. It had everything we needed for our weekend and the breakfast was a highlight. We particularly enjoyed the pancakes and waffles with homemade toffee sauce. We would love to come back and stay again!

Our second stay at Burnside and sure we will be back again. Location is great just a 15 minute walk into the centre of Keswick along the lovely cycle path. The breakfasts are fabulous- my favourite is the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Accommodation is immaculate and beds really comfortable. Easy to park just opposite. Great experience.

Lovely stay at the Burnside with friends. The host Sharon is really lovely & so welcoming & full of helpful advice re the area & places to eat. The Burnside is just out of town but a reasonable 15 minute walk into town along the pedestrianised railway track which is nice & flat. Rooms are comfortable & spotlessly clean and the breakfast’s are tremendous. Will definitely book again

You really do get the personal touch at Burnside B&B, with a warm welcome from Sharon who has a fantastic knowledge of the town and things to do around the area. What a lovely place on the outskirts of Keswick, with a lovely 15 minute walk via a tree lined cycle path into the bustling town centre. The B&B is tastefully decorated and totally in keeping with the age of the property, which you can tell has been lovingly restored by the owners. The room was very restful, clean, spacious and the double bed incredibly comfy. We were in Room 2 which is at the front on the first floor with two windows - one a big bay. This en-suite room is very spacious with a sofa (which is a also a sofabed), lovely William Morris wallpaper and original cast iron fireplace. Street parking is available just over the road. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order with lots of choice. We had most things during our two night stay, including the usual full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or fresh and fluffy pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Tea, coffee and toast with Sharon’s home-made jam and marmalade were plentiful and tasty. Very comfortable and relaxing stay.

BURNSIDE is an AMAZING Bed & Breakfast. Sharon is the perfect hostess, who goes above and beyond. The B & B is immaculately clean, lovely bedding, towels and comfy beds and pillows. The Full English breakfast sets you up for the day, but there are lots of other choices, such as fruit, cereals, porridge etc. Sharon makes her own preserves, the marmalade is delicious. Have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Burnside. It is a short walk into the centre of Keswick which takes approximately 15 minutes maximum down a paved disused railway track, remember to take a torch if coming back after dark as it isn't lit. This lovely B&B is welcoming, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is good - a 15 min walk into Keswick and there are plenty of great walks from your doorstep. The breakfast is excellent - freshly cooked with lots of choice. We stayed 3 nights so I was able to try 3 different breakfasts - all very tasty! Parking is easy - you can park for free for as long as you like on the road opposite the B&B.
