Pros Great location for exploring Themal and provided you are not too high up, you shouldn't hear any road noise as it's set back. I was on the 4th floor and could hear the incessant beeping motorbikes but had moved from the first floor where i heard none (but was directly above the kitchen so could hear banging and chairs scraping from around 6am). 2nd floor is probably a good choice Staff were all excellent Room cleaned daily with 2 large bottles of water provided each day Breakfast was ok - decent variety of fruit, local and western with custom eggs. Coffee was instant though. Get your currency before you arrive or take enough to convert there, the atm machines are expensive Taxi from airport to Themal should be around 350 rupees working on 50 rupees per km plys 30 rupees start charge. You will be hounded relentlessly by people from the second you leave the plane for tour services etc. It may seem impolite but dont make eye contact, say no thank you and keep walking, otherwise you will spend your entire trip speaking to them. Right now its cold at night, pack accordingly. Be prepared to pay for everything, every temple, every place of historical interest - foreigners are charged around 1000-2000 rupees each time. E.g. all the Durbar squares, main stupas and temples. Don't assume that because Nepal is a developing country it is cheap. It isn't. In fact i found it comparable to some developed countries and not cheaper than say Thailand. A meal would cost me around 1000 rupees. In a smaller more local place you may pay 500. Don't take your new trainers, it's a very dirty, dusty city but exactly what you would expect if you've ever seen it on TV - it's all part of the experience. For exploring all of the main parts of Kathmandu, id say 5 days is a good amount of time. I recommend the everest helicopter tour but on that note i will say that tours are very expensive here, more expensive than even Hong Kong, Thailand, etc!! I ended up walking to the main temples, Chandragiri, Bakhtapur for the more local experience.

My husband and I are Titanium Marriott Members and have stayed at many of the company's properties. Kathmandu Marriott is one of our all-time favorites. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The food is amazing. But what makes this hotel so special are the people who work there. They are so kind , helpful, and friendly. We stayed here when arriving from the US and then before departing back home 5 weeks later. We felt so welcomed each time. I recommend this property without reservation. This is the BEST place to stay when visiting Kathmandu.

Our group stayed at the Oasis Hotel before and after our trek to Everest Base Camp. The rooms and the service we fantastic. We stored our bags at the hotel when we went on the EBC trek. Because of weather and the Dashain Festival, we rescheduled our trek to go day later than originally planned. A member of our group came down with Dengue fever on the trek, so we had to return to Kathmandu two days early. Tulsi, the hotel manager, was incredibly helpful and was able to find us rooms to accommodate the changes. Tulsi and the staff at the hotel were very engaging, looked for ways to be of service, and always greeted us warmly. The hotel’s location is within easy walking distance to the shops in Thamel, in addition to having a lot good restaurants and cultural sites nearby. Our group was consistently impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the free breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff. With the changes we had to our trek schedule, we really appreciated Tulsi and his staff taking care of us. We will definitely stay here when make the return trip to tackle the Everest Base Camp trek again.

Es gibt viele andere Massage wie Schwedisch, tiefes Gewebe usw. Freundliches Personalservice, Flughafen-Pick-up zu einem Gebühr von NPR1300 oder usd12. Nur unten ist das Zimmer dunkel und die Dusche und Shampoo ist einfach Seife so erwarten Sie nicht Spa-Luft-Typen haha. 10min zu Fuß zum Thamel Zentrum mit einem Junction, die schwer zu überqueren, so folgen Sie den Orten zu überqueren wird die sicherste sein.

Vor und nach unserer Trekkingtour verbrachten wir jeweils einige Zeit im Arushi Boutique Hotel; bedingt durch die Covid-Maßnahmen am Anfang etwas länger als normalerweise vorgesehen. Das Hotel liegt mitten in Thamel, allerdings in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, so dass vom Trubel Thamels nichts zu hören ist. Das Hotel selbst und die Zimmer sind modern und sauber ausgestaltet. Es gibt drei verschiedene Kategorien, wobei die kleinste und billigste wohl für die allermeisten Reisenden ausreichen wird. Ein kleiner Fitnessraum, ein Minipool, Sauna und Dampfbad runden das Angebot ab, wobei wir dies alles nicht in Anspruch genommen haben. Das Wasser im Pool ist zeitweise etwas fragwürdig. Das Personal sowohl an der Rezeption als auch im Frühstücksraum und der Bar bzw. dem Restaurant auf der Dachterasse ist ausgesprochen freundlich und nett. Eigentlich gibt es nur Positives über das kleine Hotel zu melden mit einer Ausnahme: Die Schallisolierung ist praktisch nicht vorhanden, wobei sich das hauptsächlich beim nächtlichen Bellkonzert der diversen Straßenhunde unangenehm bemerkbar macht. Die Zimmer in den oberen Stockwerken sind hier zu bevorzugen.

Ich war hier 2 mal und dieses Gebäude wird immer meine erste Option sein, wenn es um Hotels in Thamel geht. Ich habe die schlimmste Erfahrung mit anderen Hotels, aber nicht Norbulinka. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Frühstück ist lecker und für meinen zweiten Besuch wollte ich ein Zimmerdekoration und Norbulinka hat mir die beste Zimmerdekoration, die ich je gesehen habe. Es war wirklich schön. Alles ist gut, einschließlich der Lage, komfortable Zimmer, gemütliche Betten und leckere Mahlzeiten. Es ist sehr ruhig und ruhig in der Nacht, wirklich wie die Lage.

Hier ist mein Rückkehr zu diesem Hotel aus guten Gründen, die schwer in Thamel zu finden ist. Die Lage ist die beste und am nächsten zu allem in einer ruhigen Straße. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber mit hilfsbereitem freundlichem Personal. Hauspflege ist hervorragend. Perfekte Terrasse, um sich im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Hotels zu entspannen. Warm heiße Rezeption mit erstklassigen Einrichtungen. Bitte kontaktieren Sie Bishnu und er sieht wie sein Name, Lord Vishnu, er löst alle Ihre Probleme. Ein freundlichster Hotel-Kundenvertreter, den ich je in Nepal getroffen habe. Er war so offen mit Preisgestaltung und hielt seine Worte ohne Strings beigefügt usw. z.B. Steuern .Er kaufte sogar eine digitale Skala, um meine Gepäckgewichte. Die Anlage hat keinen Aufzugsservice, aber das Personal kümmert sich um das Gepäck. Ich empfehle Ihnen, Ihre Zeit nicht zu verschwenden, nur das Buch Osho zu suchen und versuchen Sie mir zu glauben, Sie werden nicht bedauern. Sicherlich werde ich wieder zurückkehren, wie es mein zweites Haus ist, wenn ich in Kathmandu bin, denn dieser 5-wöchige Aufenthalt fühlt sich noch kurz.

Sehr schönes Hotel im klassischen Baustil. Das Personal war außerordentlich freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war ruhig und sauber. Besonders die Wärmflaschen zur Nacht haben uns gefallen. Werde bei meinem nächsten Besuch in Nepal auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten.

Es gibt typische Nepal-Stilhotels, aber die Wasserqualität ist etwas gelb, andere können.

Many thanks to Mr. Dipu and Mr. Pun for their amazing hospitality and great customer service. I was very pleased with my stay here at Hotel Shankar, but Ms. Mamta Shrestha was a bit inconsiderate towards her clients. I asked for a specific medication but she refused to provide it and directed me to the front desk. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. If anyone needs to deal with the staff, I recommend Mr. Dipu and Mr. Pun. They are the individuals who never let you down when it comes to customer service. I will be back again. Lastly, the breakfast and food were excellent.
