So impresses by this place. It was busy when we arrived but the staff were so accommodating. One of the party of 4 was vegan and one was GF and vegan. They catered for us all and the food and service was fabulous. It was such a nice experience and on that basis I cant wait to return and stay in the hotel. Thanks again to brilliant staff.

Really comfortable hotel with excellent restaurant and friendly staff to make you feel at home. When you leave the ferry slip time slips too. Nothing is rushed yet everything happens. The hotel itself is well maintained, our room was large and roomy with fabulous views over the sound. The bed huge and very comfortable. The bar was being refurbished when we visited but the large cafe/bistro area was great with fabulous food - thank you Adam, Devilla & Max - the fish dishes were being widely praised while we would return for the beef madras alone! Rosa at the bar was a fantastic host - and enthusiastic pourer! While friendly locals brought the place to life. Bike hire was great way to see the island - and they suggested we could leave the bikes at the hotel rather than rushing back.

Just popped into this establishment for a few drinks had one chap take my order who then left to serve another customer then l waited on the barmaid to serve another customer and then she also ignored me and proceeded to serve man behind me. With that lever of shoddy service l left the place and headed down to the much friendlier boathouse where the staff are cheery and helpful.

The Gigha Hotel is a great place to stay on the island. We found everyone very friendly and helpful, from the staff to the owners. The public areas are pleasant and modern. The Cara bar is a nice place to have a drink or eat. The Hebridean is a very nice room which probably lacks a bit of atmosphere but is possibly better when the hotel is busier. The bedroom was comforatable but could probably do with a bit of a makeover. The quality of the food was very good but the flavours were sometimes - to me - a bit discordant. The scallops in butterscotch sauce just didn't seem like a great combination. The Zarzuela was excellent, though. Breakfasts are very good and generous. All in all a really enjoyable stay and we would certainly visit again.

Do not visit this place. The fellow behind the desk, a very large, I'll mannered boor, whom I assume is the proprietor, accused us of arriving a day late for our 2-night stay. We showed him a printed copy of the email his hotel had sent us, confirming the correct booking details, and he became rude and abusive. We inspected the room on offer, and it had no windows, only a small skylight. We left immediately, with insults following us out. Until this chap goes out of business, which can't be far away, do not waste the cost of the ferry fare.

Although it seems you can get a “dog friendly room” in this hotel. Unfortunately you cannot take your dog in to the hotel for a drink. As it’s the only place on the island where you can get a drink we have spent 3 days on a lovely island but unable to go to a pub/bar/establishment for a drink as there is one place and they said no dogs. Not even outside in their beer garden apparently! I wish we’d just done a day trip, with all the money they’re spending on paths I don’t think that’s the long term intention so they might want the hotel to cater a bit more to the types of people getting on the boat to come over.

Came to Gigja for a day trip, looking forward to a drink in the bar and lunch as usual. Hotel is closed. Nothing obvious on their website or **********. Bit of a wasted trip. Could at least put a sign up or something. Maybe gone bust as looks like it’s been *****ped out inside, or having renovations.

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in early March 23. Clean and comfortable hotel, the food was fresh and generous, the supporting staff couldn't do enough. But the attitude of the manager was dissmisive, arrogant and condescending. Spoiling the whole experience. We will be back to this beautiful wee island... but not to the hotel, unless the management is changed.

I’ll mannered slovenly host behind reception treats his guest with contempt . Unfortunately this one dismal male character makes for an unpleasant experience and best avoided. Restaraunt staff are lovely cheery and efficient and the island setting fantastic.
