Hotel Ulisse

Wir buchten ein Apartment in Pozzuli für 12 Tage, da mein Sohn einen Tauchkurs belegt hatte. Leider wurde er nach nur 2 Tagen mit einer schlimmen Ohrenentzündung ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert und man sagte ihm, er könne in diesem Urlaub nicht mehr tauchen und eine Woche lang nicht fliegen. Das ließ uns ratlos zurück, denn Pozzuoli ist zwar schön, aber es gibt dort nicht viel zu tun für einen Teenager. Wir beschlossen daher, uns etwas zu gönnen und ein paar Nächte in diesem Hotel in Ischia zu buchen, um die Langeweile zu vertreiben. Erstens grenzen die Bilder auf der Website an Betrug. Die Terrasse lässt einen glauben, es handele sich um einen schönen Sitz-/Essbereich mit atemberaubender Aussicht auf den Hafen (siehe Bild 1). Das nächste Problem waren die Zimmer. Unten in einem Verlies mit einer 1,80 Meter hohen Mauer zum Anblick! (Siehe Bild 2). Außerdem laut und stinkig. Dann bestand das „große Doppelbett“ aus zwei zusammengeschobenen Einzelbetten. Ich habe aufgehört zu zählen, wie oft ich nachts durch den Spalt gerutscht bin!! Frühstück: kalte Rühreier und unfrisches Brot. Der Kaffee war Mist und der „Saft“ war verwässert, ähm, Bongo-Zeug, das war schrecklich. Wir hatten ursprünglich 2 Zimmer für 2 Nächte gebucht, für (ja, warten Sie ab) 950 Euro!!! Und wenn man sich ansieht, wie sie ihr Image aufgebaut haben, könnte man das einfach geschluckt haben (schließlich ist Hochsaison und so). Also beschlossen wir nach einer Nacht, abzuhauen und nach Pozzuoli zurückzukehren. Der Hotelrezeptionist muss fairerweise zugeben, dass er keinen unserer Kommentare verteidigen konnte und uns einfach (425 Euro) für die eine Nacht berechnete, und wir waren wie der Blitz weg!

The hotel is in the perfect location, close to the ferry port, bars and restaurants. The view from the room was spectacular. The staff were all friendly and very welcoming. The pool was a great place to relax in the afternoon for a quiet drink.

Group of women travelled here in May. Hotel is very well located in ischia port .. half way between the port and the castle literally in the middle. Great family run hotel . Staff were wonderful particularly the reception staff. Everyone that works at this hotel makes you feel welcome and greets you with a smile. The whole hotel is spotless and nothing is too much trouble. Looking forward to visiting again.

What do we look for in hotel accommodations? Cleanliness, safety, staff, comfort, location, food, and amenities. Hotel Ulisse (HU) is a family owned/runned business which we stumbled upon close to 20 years ago. A trip to visit our family in Naples wouldn’t be complete without visiting our “HU family” in Ischia! Our comments and ratings are based on it being a 3-star hotel. Cleanliness: For being one of the older buildings in the area, the complex is kept impeccably clean. The cleaning/maintence staff have consistently done an outstanding job and continue to do so. (A+) Safety: The areas, Ischia Pointe and Ischia Porto are very safe. The hotel has staff on duty 24/7 and the entrances are automatically locked at night. For those staying in the pool area cottages, you need to enter through the main entrance (as opposed to from the street) at night to gain entrance to this secured area. There are cameras as well. We feel very safe. (A+) Staff: What can we say? The staff is amazing and most if not all have been there for years. HU has very high standards and the very professional and highly focused staff always aims to please. We personally understand the difficulties that can occur within a family runned business and are grateful to every one who works hard to make our vacation so enjoyable. In order not to inadvertently forget someone, we acknowledge ALL staff with whom we had daily contact (you know who you are). Thank you!! (A+) Comfort: As mentioned above, HU is one of the older buildings so areas may seem small to some. Remember, if you’re priorities are lush and luxurious perhaps this isn’t for you. However, if the items on your checklist are more in line with ours, make your reservation now! Amenities: Flat screen tv, mini fridge, and safe in room, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi throughout, lobby bar, poolside dining area and snack bar, delicious food, two pools: one with hot water and the larger with cold water, roof top deck with incredible views! (A) Location: Right in the middle of two major districts. It’s doesn’t get better than that! To the left is Ischia Pointe where you can walk to the restaurants, shops, and of course the famous Castello. To the right is a little further walk (but not much) to the boutiques, shops, and restaurants. The road eventually winds around and you find yourself at the Porto where there are many outdoor restaurants with views of the marinas and super yachts. If you’re Catholic, there is a little church steps away from the hotel and another a few more steps away on the other direction. Depending on the route you take, the beach is a 5 minute walk. We like meandering our way through the alley in between the hotel building proper and the pool area. (A+) Food: As mentioned, there are many restaurants in Ischia but after a while the selections seem repetitive. May we suggest lunch or dinner at HU? The main courses offer an authentic taste of Ischia that you don’t always see on the menu elsewhere. Th

A beautiful hotel, very helpfull and friendly staff between Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. We were here for the second time and love both swimming pools and the very well prepared lunches near the pool. Helpfull with ordening a rental car and paying attention to our request by having a room on ground floor. Will come back a third time definitely. Grazie Mile!

Beautiful place quite close to the centre of the island. Very nice staff and comfortable rooms, we got there by walk it took 20min for the port but the google map location is for their pool. All and all we had a really good experience there

Wonderful place to stay in Ischia port. Very close to shopping and dining options. Nice rooms and a good breakfast. The pool area is nice and the snack bar at the pool very reasonably priced. We were also very impressed with the service and friendliness we received upon check-in.

Very nice hotel at a good area, close to the beach and the castle… beautiful rooftop patio with view of the ocean and castle and a nice swimming pool behind the hotel…. Nice breakfast and kind staff ….
