Golden Palms Guest House & Cafe

We took a room at The Golden Palms Famagusta for a night to explore the wonderful walled city and sample the great restaurants and local shops and bars. We chose the Golden Palms on a recommendation and it couldn’t have been better. The rooms are so spacious beautifully equipped and tastefully decorated. The host and staff were excellent welcoming and had big happy genuine smiles on their faces all the time we were there. Nice powerful shower, complimentary toiletries, crisp sheets and plenty of towels and good easy to use air con. We had a great meal in the town a few very naughty cocktails and all walking within distance. Breakfast was a sumptuous feast of “Turkish Delights” home made cakes Jams, pastries, olives, breads, spreads, salad, and a great choice of eggs! Again served with ease and a winning smile. Check out was simple and casual, no faff. This was all for £75.00 for a room and included the wonderful breakfast. We then explored the town did a bit of shopping and had an ice cream before heading home. There’s a large free car park opposite the hotel. Stunning value for money. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Located in the heart of the old fortified city of Famagusta, it is a delightful corner of relaxation. The rooms are clean and elegant. Located 200 meters from the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and very close to all other monuments. With a short walk you reach the abandoned neighborhood of Varosha which recalls the cruelties of the 1975 invasion. The owners are very kind and there is a large car park in front of the entrance to the resort

Golden Palms is the only place we stay when we visit Famagusta. We almost always stay in the same room and are greeted warmly by the owner and he staff. Special mention must go to Favour who is a student but works partime at the hotel. He makes our breakfast which includes the freshest eggs straight from the chicken pen. The hotel is located in the centre of the old walled city. The rooms are meticulously clean and spacious and slippers are provided. It's just a home away from home.

My girlfriend and I went to North Cyprus to see our family and we stayed in Golden Palms for 7 nights. We had such a fantastic time here. The host, the family and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are very spacious with decent air conditioners, comfortable beds and have a homely feel. The included continental breakfast was delicious and the view when sitting outside was amazing - the place was surrounded by beautiful plants, trees and with a great view of Lala Mustafa Pasha mosque. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place to stay in Famagusta. Perfect location right next to St. Nicholas Church/Lala Mustafa Mosque. Breakfast in the courtyard was a treat...be sure to ask for the Turkish eggs....which probably come from the chickens right there. The crowing rooster was a special touch! Our host Ertunc and our caretaker/waiter (so sorry we have lost this wonderful young man's name) couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. In short, the perfect place to stay in Famagusta!!!

This little tranquil place in the middle of the old towm famagusta is heavenly,everything is perfect and the breakfast is divine.our lovely waiter favour makes the best scrambled eggs and even goes to the chicken coup to collect them.amazing fresh eggs.i can honestly say its the best place in that town

Lovely place, the location is perfect (really next to the main sights). The room was clean and had everything you need. I think the standard rooms have 2 beds but as we were 4 (2 adults + 2 teenagers) they added two extra beds. It was tight but ok for a couple of nights. Breakfast was very good and the personnel very friendly and helpful. If you are by car you can park it right in front of the guesthouse, you can visit everything by foot. Famagusta itself is very beautiful, one of the nicest places I've been to. Don't miss the chance to visit the Ghost Town (Varosia), including the beach. I really recommend this guesthouse!

The perfect place. We went there for the first time a year ago and absolutely loved it. Since then we have been back on almost monthly visits. We have taken friends from the uk and friends who live in Cyprus and to a person everyone has loved it. Large modern rooms with great showers, a lovely garden and a breakfast to die for. Situated ideally in the old town within easy reach of restaurants and many attractions and yet it feels so peaceful and secluded. All of this is topped off by the lovely family who own and run it. It really is a place not to be missed
