If you are going to Mayo Clinic, there is no better place to stay then Kahler Grand! It is connected to the clinic by the subway or a simple walk across the street. The rooms are clean, updated & very comfortable. Parking is also convenient & connected to the hotel. Restaurants are within the hotel, subway system or a short walk. Staff are always friendly, helpful & kind! Mayo wheelchairs are available for use ( to & from the clinic & in the hotel) if needed. There is a swimming pool & workout area also.

Fire alarm woke us up
Had to go to front desk to get access to pool for handicap access
Then our food was missing and housekeeping cleaned our room while we were at our dr apt (we did NOT check out)

The hotel itself is beautiful with helpful front desk personnel. Walking across the street to the Mayo Clinic is a HUGE advantage. The parking garage is handy, but beware. The hotel has two towers; one for their high-end suites and the other for the "regular" rooms. When exiting the parking garage (and taking the elevator to the 10th floor), you are in the high-end district and must return to the main floor and use different elevators to access the correct tower.
I received 2 keys; only one worked. It is tricky to get to the pool, but once there it is a GREAT space with beautiful views! The pool temp is much more like a hottub, so i didn't even attempt that area.
The Martini's bar is no longer there, nor another casual dining area that is still advertised. The only dining room had a limited menu but my sandwich was tasty. I worry about the addition of RuthChrisSteakHouse being way too expensive for the common folk.
Would I stay here again? ABSOLUTELY!

The staff upon check in seemed very disinterested. Room was a mess. Weird stains and carpet needed a cleaning.

A grand hotel with old glory. Bit worn out and clunky. Long corridors and multiple elevators and easy to get lost. Restaurant was closed. That said, room was comfortable, clean, and bathroom is large. Was not able to control heater so fan was running all night. Good value for what I paid, overall. .

Nice, quiet area that is within walking distance to many restaurants and coffee shops. Right across from the Mayo/Gonda building. Walking distance to Dan Abram Healthy Living Center.

It was a very nice place to stay.The access to the Mayo Clinic Buildings was so easy. It is an old hotel so some rooms are a little dated in the bathroom areas, but very clean.

This is a wonderful location to stay if it is your first visit to the Mayo Clinic. It is across the street from the Gonda Building and connected via the subway walkways that also connect to the Mayo Building and many nice boutiques and restaurants. It is a nice home base between tests and procedures. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
