This is the second time I stayed at this motel and I really like it. My mom was with me this time and she was also charmed. The easy parking and beautiful ocean view are delightful. The beds are comfy, the staff is generous with fluffy, clean towels, and the extras like outdoor and indoor chairs - two patio chairs, two easy chairs, and two desk chairs are great. I think when the hotel replaces the door and the bathroom window, the noise from the train will be better. Also, we really needed a small shelf or table under the sink to put our toiletry bags.

This is a very small motel, so don’t expect anything more than this. Jennifer at the front desk is wonderful, very easy to work with, professional and helpful. The area is very nice , close to the beach and plenty of restaurants. The Ocean views from the balcony were amazing! They also provide you with beach chairs, umbrellas and boggle boards, but not beach towels, so bring your own. Also they have an assortment of free snacks and cookies, which come handy. Now to the not so nice stuff, the noice from the train is very loud and annoying. Water pressure was not great, but it was really hot, which was good. There is no lift , so it could be a challenge for elderly or guests with disabilities to get to the second floor. All in all, we really loved Encinitas and we will be back, we will just bring ear plugs!

Fantastic location 2 blocks from the beach. Free use of boogie boards and beach chairs. Very convenient and affordable. Facilities are what you might expect for the price. Basic but the location can’t be beat.

Moonlight Beach Motel is a few minutes from the beach, which was a delight. Clean bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Our upstairs balcony with an ocean view was a bonus! Coffee shop next door for breakfast.

Room was small property was run down and lacking for price we paid. No pool
or hot tub. Place was dirty maids unfriendly and not safe at night saw shady activity and sex workers staying here. Guys coming and going at all hours of thr night guy knocking on our door at 4am waking us up and demanding we let him in no one in office to call and number we had to manger no one answered. Wont be going back a red roof or motel sex for half the price woukd have been better.

Great location, older quaint motel, nicely maintained, clean and friendly. The view from our balcony was amazing especially at sunset. Would stay here again 👍

Jennifer was very nice when she checked us in. Gave us a lot of info for food and things to do. They have equipment for your use as well when visiting the beach. Of course you just have to bring back. I loved the location we plan to come back! Oh and the ladies that were up front were very nice as well when we checked out.

My wife and I are still in shock. We had someone banging on our door like the police and waking us up at 4 am. I couldn’t get a hold of anybody in the office to help call the police never heard from anybody in the office and in the morning when I spoke to the manager about it, she just giggled like sorry you lost your sleep. We will never stay at this crap hotel again.
