Monte da Fonte Santa de Sao Luis

Stayed here for two nights which was rather very disappointing ! When we arrived at the property (check-in is supposed to be between certain hours) not a soul was found, owner eventually arrived after we called. The rooms are very very dated. The photos which you see on their website are not anything resembling the reality. A smile would be appreciative but for the owner it seems difficult. Will DEFINATELY not recommend.

Monte da Fonte Santa de São Luís is the perfect place to stay if you want a break from the crowds. For peace, solitude and a real escape from the pressures of life this is the place to come. The surrounding landscape is incredible. All what you can hear is birds singing. Anabela and Luis are a wonderful hosts who really go above and beyond for their guests. They’ve created a magical place. Their lovely hotel is in the middle of magnificent countryside and only 15 min drive from Castelo Branco. There are no urban lights there, so one can admire the night sky at its full glory. The whole place is very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing with the table full of fresh organic farm produce. We had the privilege of also having supper there. Apart form a lovely starter and desert, we were served the traditional Portuguese dish of bacalhau (cod) à brás made especially for us, and were offered to sample a selection of tasty liqueurs made on the farm. We left the hotel with honey, olive oil and a bottle of one of their liqueurs. We will certainly get more the next time we stay there. We really did fall in love with the friendly service and traditional foods, The owners, Anabela and Luis clearly love their place, and the moment you arrive there you feel the warm a**osphere and the good energies.
