Logis l'Hermitage

The Hermitage was an excellent find. We were using it as a stop over traveling from the south of France to St Malo. We were delighted to find it has a superb restaurant and tranquil and lovely ground in which to walk around. We would definitely stop here again

Excellent stay with charming and attentive hosts. The hotel is a charming Maison de Maître with a lovely garden and outside seating area which looked great although it was a little chilly to use so early in the season. The hotel also has parking and garages to rent if you need extra security (which was not needed as the parking was just fine). We stayed in a modern bedroom in the main house which was well appointed with a great shower room that had everything we needed. It was tastefully decorated and more than comfortable for the night en route to the Charante. We were made to feel very welcome and an excellent meal accompanied by good wine which was very welcome. Really enjoyed our visit and will recommend - we’ll also be back for some more excellent food

The hotel is in a nice location not far from Chateauroux, being an old "maison de maître" and with nicely managed grounds and trees extending down to the River Indre. Our double bed was very comfortable but the main room was scarcely larger than those of many budget hotels. The bathroom was excellent and large with double basins and clean, even if the shower support was loose. Our major gripe was the awful toilet room, very small and for many people, impossible to close the door. Equally if the door was left open, the toilet and occupant are just a few centimetres/inches from the head of someone in bed. The restaurant was also a disappointment as there were just two set menus, at €33 and €45. We chose the €45 menu, which had no choices, only a set number of items. We both are used to good dining from time to time, and whilst the cook had a definite flair, the overall meal was heavy and we did not greatly enjoy it, much to our surprise. Also we have never been in a restaurant in France nor elsewhere where the serving of the next course was so fast, which is not something that aids a supposedly good meal. The two staff were very pleasant and sympathetic about the departure of the UK from the EU thanks to Brexit.

We arrived after a 10 hour drive from Cambridge, our welcome for all family members was warm, engaging and accommodating to all our needs. The sun shone whilst we enjoyed a cold beer in the beautiful gardens, our boys explored the large expanse of grass and trees. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable. The meal, menu and food was exceptional, varied, flavoured and presentation was beautiful with brilliant service, with set menu or ability to choose from a larger array of wonderful options. Breakfast consisted of French bread, croissants, Le Chocolate, yoghurts and fruit, great little hotel all round with the added host engaging my oldest and encouraging his French language skills

Un établissement confortable et une table d'excellence. Le dîner était d'une qualité exceptionnelle, de l'entrée au dessert en passant par le plat. En dessert un millefeuille revisité, aussi beau que bon. Un régal L'accueil et le service était très bon.

El hotel es una casona muy bonita con un jardín precioso. El trato del personal muy bueno. Lo que no estuvo tan bien es la habitación en una zona anexa de nueva construcción con sensación de “low-cost”, muy diferente a lo que se espera por las fotos de un hotel en una casona señorial. El desayuno mejorable.

Excellent repas de Noël. Originalité, délicatesse des saveurs sont les maîtres mots sans oublier le service. La classe ! Merci beaucoup pour ce joli moment. Nous avons été ravies de retrouver cet endroit. Nous reviendrons. Joyeuses fêtes de fin d’année.

Nous étions 3 dont 1 petite de 2 ans! Nous pouvons dire que nous avons ressenti la gentillesse dès notre réservation par téléphone. Très attentionnés avec nous comme avec notre petite fille! La chaise haute a permis à tous les 3 d apprécier le repas (adapté pour la petite, et tellement bon). Le cadre, le jardin, les lapins ont été une soupape avant de rentrer à la maison.

Chambre vieillote (joints carreaux sdb, moquette, déco et meubles). Restaurant cher pour ce qui est dans l'assiette. L'entrée était insipide et n'apportait rien. Le plat était bon mais cher pour un plat si simple à faire. Les plats sont au prix d'un étoilé, mais la cuisine est de brasserie. La réduction du jus était très bonne par contre.
