This was our third visit here and so far the best (although each visit has been excellent) We were allocated a lovely room with a great view. Clean and comfortable bedroom. Plenty of toiletry provisions and towels. Good choices for the included buffet breakfast. We chose the snapper for dinner followed by the cheesecake for dessert. Both were delicious. All the staff, without exception, continue to be so friendly and helpful. Particular thanks to Russell (maintenance) for his help on arrival and to Sarah in the restaurant. Also the lovely lady who serviced our room. A big thank you to each and every one of the staff. Unfortunately on our last night the whole area experienced a power outage around dinner time but the staff were amazing and did everything they could to ensure the dining room functioned as normal as possible under the circumstances. We can’t wait for our next visit, which hopefully will be soon. Thoroughly recommend this place for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Really enjoyed a few lunches at the hotel lately. We have a member of our family though who is Vegan and strictly dairy-free. It would be wonderful if the pub could consider some more Vegan-Friendly options on the menu as it would certainly provide us with a reason to return more often. In this day and age not everyone can eat meat or dairy. The Buddha Bowl is something healthier they offer and it was fresh and tasty. Unfortunately we ordered the Margherita Pizza on the Order At Table on mobile functionality it stated this Pizza came with Vegan cheese. We thought that was great. Of course the pizza came with regular cheese and I had to check with the staff who apologised and said that no, there was no vegan cheese on premises. They were very polite but it was disappointing that both the online menu was wrong, and that this fairly simple alternative wasn't on offer. Hopefully we see some more plant-based options on the menu in the future! The kids meals are great value.

I had a perfectly pleasant stay until thhe day before I checked out when someone from reception entered the room (while I was in there) under the impression that I was supposed to have checked out. It was probably a simple mistake, which while invasive is also understandable. No apology, but they are mostly meaningless anyway and it probably wasn't the fault of the person who entered the room. Hadbit ended there I wouldn't have mentioned it, but the same thing happened again when despite the 'do not disturb' sign on the door housekeeping also entered the room also under the mistaken impression that I had checked out. I called reception after the second incident and was put on hold for 18 minutes before they eventually tried to put the blame on housekeeping (and repeatedly got my name wrong, which I wouldn't have cared about if it weren't for the being on hold and the weasily attempt to put what was clearly a reception error on the housekeeping staff). The whole incident left a lingering bad impression, which is unfortunate after an otherwise very pleasant and uneventful stay.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My friend booked this accomodation for me and booked it through ***********; two months before our booking we extended two days so I could arrive to the trip earlier. (On *********** it says check in is from 2pm-12am) When I arrived at 9:30pm I was greeted by a giant door which was locked and it was POURING down with rain. I’ve was left in the rain for just over an hour trying to call the hotel as their intercom system has stopped working due to the rain. Once I finally got through they had lost my booking and took 2 hours to finally let me into a room after a constant back and forth with an incompetent after hours phone service assistant who kept putting me on hold (the manager spent 20 mins blaming me saying it was my fault they didn’t have my booking and that I should’ve called prior, never once in my life have I had to call a hotel prior to check in). The staff had absolutely no empathy for my health or safety being a young woman in a foreign city alone standing stranded in the rain. They stuffed me into whatever room they could for the night and told me they’d ‘sort it in the morning’. Next morning I was greeted by the manager (who had a bit of an attitude) telling me he just ‘missed the email’ about us extending our stay… Pretty useless excuse. Day 1 I was in a tiny closet sized room and the cleaning lady knocked on my door and asked if I needed cleaning to which I said no, she then came back 20 minutes later and barged into my room without even knocking!!! Talk about invasion of privacy!! The second room we were put in smelt like piss, was falling apart (the carpet was peeling off the floors) and was riddled with roaches and other bugs. Not to mention the powerpoint was faulty and I struggled to charge my phone… Then went to have a shower and had a door swung into my face by another cleaning lady who seemed to be mad that I needed to use the ammenities she had finished cleaning. I completely understand that a budget hotel means lesser quality but we booked this place purely for location as it was close to a concert that we were there for. There are places much much nicer in Brisbane/Fortitude Valley for the same price range, such as ‘BUNK Brisbane’ which is a lovely place btw. After this traumatic experience was hoping for my booking to be comped or discounted or even the slightest bit of sympathy from management but nope! Surprised after reading the other google reviews that this place hasn’t gone out of business or been shut down by the health department.

Staff were friendly; the room was nice. The swimming pool had quite a lot of leaves in it. The gym set up was a bit strange; there is a partner gym 3 minutes walk away which is really well kitted out. However the hotel ask you to pay the gym provider directly to go; then bring a receipt to reception with your bank details, and they will then ‘pass them to accounts’ for a refund. Seems like a ball ache - esp with a UK bank account. Breakfast was not great. Bananas were all past their best.
