Great hotel, they upgraded us to a bigger room and accommodated our needs very well. The location is amazing, close to all the attractions but not too busy with traffic getting a Didi. The staff were super friendly and helpful with any questions and extended our checkout to 2pm. Highly recommended and would stay here again when we are back!

This hotel really redefines what high quality service at luxury hotels should be - personable, friendly, attentive, and professional. The staff are eager to be helpful, are extremely communicative and responsive via WeChat, and cater to your every needs. My impression before I arrived was already a positive one because they helped me arrange two packages to be sent in advance to the hotel. They even let me use their contact details as the contact number to make the order as I did not have a local phone number. Upon arrival, the packages were waiting for us and housekeeping took away the leftover packaging. They also offer a free laundry service and I cannot emphasise how soft and nice smelling our clothes were when we received our freshly laundered clothes. The bathroom amenities are the luxury brand Le Labo and the water provided is the mineral water brand Evian. Of course they also have Dyson hair dryers. The daily breakfasts are truly decadent with abalone on our first morning and Angus sirloin on our second morning. We can order seconds of any of the dishes we liked. Fruit juices are freshly made. The barista even made takeaway drinks for us to enjoy on our outings. Afternoon tea and evening soups are also provided and guests can choose what time they would like it to be served and where (for example, hotel room or hotel lounge). They even prepared cold milk for us to soothe us after we returned from dinner eating some local spicy Changsha chicken. Truly outstanding service! One of the things that sets this hotel apart from any other we have stayed at are the afternoon activities they offer to their guests. On our second day we enjoyed a Cloisonné enamel class in the hotel and we will certainly be displaying the fruits of our hard work in our home when we return home. All the materials were provided to us and one of the lovely staff provided instructions and was extremely patient with us despite the language barrier. Such unique experiences on offer each day really make the stay so enjoyable for guests. I can understand why this hotel was won so many accolades. The staff really have earnt this award. It is thanks to their dedication that this hotel has earnt such a prestigious reputation. It is genuinely worth every penny! I am not sure when we will return to Changsha but it is exciting to know that the hotel does have another branch in Chengdu which we will be keen to visit, perhaps next year. All I can say is that I will always have fond memories of this hotel and particularly its staff and this hotel has certainly set the bar high for outstanding service.

Da ich von außerhalb nach Changsha kam, durchforstete ich alle Hotels auf Ctrip und Qunar in der Preisklasse unter 1000 Yuan, fand aber kein einziges, das mich zufriedenstellte. Fast in jeder Bewertung wurden verschiedene Probleme im Hotelmanagement aufgedeckt. Glücklicherweise stieß ich auf das Xiangjiang Hotel 1968, das als einziges keine einzige schlechte Bewertung hatte. Nachdem ich es mir vor Ort angesehen und gebucht hatte, muss ich sagen, dass es mich wirklich nicht enttäuscht hat. Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe des Wuyi-Platzes, nur einen Katzensprung vom IFS International Finance Square und der Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street entfernt, was es super bequem zum Einkaufen, Essen und Sightseeing macht. Das Wichtigste ist, dass es sich in einer ruhigen Gasse versteckt, wodurch es wirklich das Motto „Ausgang zur Pracht, Eingang zur Ruhe“ verkörpert. Nachts schläft man hier besonders gut. Dieses Hotel war ursprünglich ein Gebäude aus den 1930er Jahren und ist das erste erfolgreich versetzte Kulturgut in der Provinz Hunan. Es bewahrt den klassischen Stil der chinesisch-sowjetischen Kombination mit roten Backsteinen und glasierten Ziegeln. Beim Betreten der Lobby fühlt man sich in jene geschichtsträchtige Zeit zurückversetzt. Die alten Fotos in den Korridoren dokumentieren die Veränderungen von Changsha, und die Details zeugen von Stil. Dies ist nicht nur ein Hotel, sondern eher ein bewohnbares Museum. Die Zimmerausstattung ist top, Design und Annehmlichkeiten sind sehr geschmackvoll. Ein Dyson-Haartrockner, flauschige Bademäntel, und sogar Badesets, Einweg-Gesichtstücher und Badesalz werden bereitgestellt. Der Toilettensitz ist beheizt – die Details sind wirklich perfekt. Die Bettwäsche besteht aus Memory-Schaum-Kissen, auf denen man sehr gut schläft. Der Service hier ist wirklich „herzlich“! Vom Begrüßungstee beim Check-in bis zum 24-Stunden-Schnellservice über WeChat, man erinnert sich an unseren Nachnamen und unsere Vorlieben und hat uns sogar authentische Restaurants in der Umgebung empfohlen. Beim Abschied gab es noch ein Abschiedsgeschenk. Dieses Gefühl, so aufmerksam behandelt zu werden, ist viel wärmer als der kalte KI-Service! Die Bibliothek im zweiten Stock ist sehr stilvoll, mit einem Plattenspieler, der rauschende alte Lieder spielt. Man kann es sich auf dem Sofa mit einem Buch und Kaffee gemütlich machen und die freie Zeit genießen. Im dritten Stock gibt es ein Fitnessstudio, und auf dem Dach befindet sich ein Terrassenrestaurant, dessen Frühstück besonders lecker ist. Das gesamte Hotel ist im Retro-Stil gehalten, und jede Aufnahme ist ein Hingucker. Kurz gesagt, wenn Sie in Changsha ein Hotel suchen, das sowohl historische Tiefe als auch modernen Komfort und exzellenten Service bietet, werden Sie mit dem Xiangjiang Hotel 1968 definitiv nicht enttäuscht sein! If you’re looking for an English review, here it is! Location: We stayed for 6 nights in the Jade Room, and the location couldn’t be better. The hotel is only a short 3-minute walk from Huangxing Pedestrian Street, tucked inside a small alley off the main road. While taxis can’t drop you right at the entrance, the walk is easy and luggage-friendly. The surroundings are quiet at night but still feel very safe. There’s also a nearby corner shop that holds Taobao parcels, which is super convenient, and the reception staff will guide you if needed. Service: The service was genuinely outstanding and truly made the stay feel like a home away from home. Communication was clear, warm, and responsive from the beginning. We confirmed our booking via WeChat and received prompt replies along with helpful directions and a clear map. We arrived past midnight, but the staff kept in touch and reassured us that someone would meet us on arrival. A friendly young gentleman greeted us with a big smile, brought us to our room, and followed up with the passcodes for Wi-Fi and door access (the lobby area locks after 10pm). Most evenings, they sent a message about homemade desserts available on a first-come-first-serve basis—such a thoughtful touch. They were also extremely helpful when I needed to order food through *******, letting me use the front desk number since I didn’t have a local phone. I was also able to receive Taobao parcels at the hotel, and the staff neatly gathered them for easy pick-up. Truly attentive and heartfelt service throughout. Cleanliness & Room: The room had basic amenities and toiletries, which were sufficient for a comfortable stay. However, we couldn’t find a safe or mini fridge— not a deal breaker, but something to note if you’re expecting those features. The cleaning team was polite and checked in daily to see if we needed housekeeping. Fresh towels and bottled water were consistently provided, which we appreciated. Still, the overall cleaning could have been more thorough. We noticed crumbs and hair on the floor, suggesting that sweeping or vacuuming wasn’t done completely, and there were some shoe marks left in the bathroom. Not major issues, but worth mentioning. Die Unterkunft im Hotel ist sehr angenehm. Die Zimmer sind sauber und sauber, die Einrichtungen sind komplett und der Servicepersonal ist enthusiastisch. Das Hotel ist sehr nahe der U-Bahn und bequem zu gehen (Changsha-Auto ist über dem, was ich erwartet habe, also hat es fast alle U-Bahnen hinter sich gewählt). Obwohl es ein Schleifhaus außerhalb des Fensters ist (erwähnt wird, dass es ein Projekt eines Immobilien ist), ist es gerade weil es heute Abend sehr ruhig ist. Es ist völlig anders als am Fünf-Platz. Das Geschäftshotel ist nicht ein Urlaubshotel, also ist es nicht wichtig für das Fenster. Es ist sehr nahe von der Tür von Zhu Shandong, empfehlen Sie die Möglichkeit, die Tür in die Umwelt zu gehen. Im Hotel liegen zwei kleine Supermärkte, die Zusätze von Nahrungsmitteln sind immer noch sehr bequem. Frühstück ist sehr gut, Rindfleischpulver ist besonders lecker, nicht für den Außenpulverladen verloren 👍🏼 Insgesamt ist alles sehr zufrieden mit allen Bequemlichkeiten ～

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room is clean. Very near to mrt station directly go down from lift though we prefer getting around with Didi, pretty short distance too to streets. Snacks and amenities is provided. Just one thing to be improve, get a new hook for people to hang our clothes after shower. The initial one was too close and inside shower, not convenient. Other than that is a good place to stay at a reasonable price.

Location is good..u can either walk 10mins or take metro(only 1 atop away) from wuyi sq..cleaniness is also good..the hotel is quite new but other than that is below average..service at front desk needs more improvement..the youngster working there dun really care about service at all..they also have free laundry service but my clothes came back stained instead of being clean..

Eines der komfortablen, wenn nicht das komfortableste Bett, das ich jemals geschlafen habe. Große Einrichtungen mit einer Minibar, die mit jeder Reinigung und einem guten Haartrockner (was so wichtig ist) ausgefüllt wurde. Gutwert! Die einzigen wirklichen Fragen, die ich erwähnen konnte, waren die Toiletten (Schampoon, Duschegel und Klimaanlage) wurden in Chinesisch namens und hatten zufällige, nicht-indikative englische Namen, so musste ich übersetzen, um tatsächlich das richtige Objekt zu wählen. Ich verstehe vollkommen, warum das so ist, aber vielleicht ist es wert, das Hotel zu erwähnen. Der Minikühlschrank kühlte nichts, und war mehr nur ein Tafel. Und nur ein Toilettenroll wurde zu einer Zeit gegeben, was nicht ideal war, da ich während meines Aufenthalts krank war. Das sind alle kleine Fragen und sicher nicht von meinem Aufenthalt abziehen.

The majority of Changsha's attractions are located near Wuyi Square. It is prudent to book a hotel near this focus area. I booked this motel as it is a reputable hotel chain. It is located right beside Taiping Street, an old shopping alley since ancient times. The chain motel is now named Magnolio Hotel (Wuyi Square Branch). Changsha was my last destination of my 10-day Hunan trip. I did not follow any travel agency and explore based on my research. When we arrived at Changsha from Fenghuang Ancient Town, I was shocked by the hot weather of 38 degrees. We were drenched with sweat and felt much better when in the cold air-conditioned lobby of the hotel. The fusion tea drinks at the lobby quenched much of our thirst. The location of this hotel is superb. It is only 150 m from Exit 1 of Wuyi Square metro station. Seniors above 65 years old, including foreigners, enjoy free metro travel in Changsha. We just showed our passports and there is no second question asked, and the staff will open the gate for you to access the station. Thus, travelling to the airport via metro is also free. Wuyi Square is Line 2 station. From Wuyi Square, you can change to Line 6 at Yinbing Station and take the Line 6 train directly to Terminal 1 & 2 of Huanghua International Airport and free. The metro station also provided shelter from the heat, and I explored Huangxin Pedestrian Street and IFC mall via the metro exits. The hotel receptionist informed me that they had upgraded my room to a bigger one for free. The toilet facilities and room are well renovated and clean though the room is still quite small. I stayed for 2 nights over here, and both me and my wife had wonderful sleep. There were also plenty of eateries and restaurants at the vicinity. Walmart is just 400 m away. For travel to attractions, Orange Island is only just two stations away at 橘子洲 station along Line 2, and for Mount Yuelu, it is only one station away at 溁 湾 镇 站 from 橘子洲 station For location, cleanliness, and staff responsiveness, I will give this hotel 10 points upon 10.
