Hotel Palia la Roca

Stayed here for 4 nights. For a budget hotel we really couldn’t fault it. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, a little dated and could probably do with a refurbishment but really fine. The hotel pool and surrounding areas were clean and tidy. Reception stag friendly and helpful. The barmen and restaurant staff were all very lovely. The bar had a good quality of drinks for an all inclusive and the wine was very drinkable!! The food was good. Something for everyone at breakfast with fresh fried eggs, crepes & churros. The usual bacon, scrambled eggs beans mushrooms etc. fresh fruit and yoghurt. Lunch was lovely always a good choice of lovely fresh salads, fresh fish, paella, hot & cold meat and desserts. Dinner was much the same and you definitely would not go hungry Entertainment team were a good friendly bunch and there was always something to join in with if that’s your thing. There was a selection of evening entertainment Really well positioned hotel with a minutes walk to a lovely beach and a lovely 15 min walk along the promenade to the marina. Plenty of other bars, restaurants and shops in the area with the bus stop just outside the hotel on the main road. First time to Costa Del sol for us but would return and use this hotel again

On arrival, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel's public areas and rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food was very good, fresh with lots of variety. Drinks were very generously topped up when required. Incredible value for money and great for families. The entertainment staff were wonderful, energetic and fun. There was a great a**osphere in the place. Unfortunately, one disabled guest had to return home early, however, staff pulled out all the stops to make this an easy process. The hotel's owner even made a special effort to see the guest off and wish them a safe journey. As a well-seasoned world traveller, I found Hotel Palia La Roca and its staff to be truly exceptional. A 3* hotel with 5* service.

The Hotel itself is very clean and lovely to enter. Staff are great. Cleaners are great. But entertainment is very poor. The team try their best but obviously it's not outside entertainers that come in and the team can only do what they can. The food is ok, a few different dishes everyday. Quite a few options for breakfast lunch & dinner. If you have pasta you need to heat it yourself. Quite noisy as near a main road, and also thin walls. Hear toilets flush and cleaners moving beds. People coming in at night or early morning. Pool area is lovely and across the road from the beach. Very hilly so if your not fit to walk up hill don't choose this place to stay.

Staff friendly and welcoming. Room basic but clean and tidy. Spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Good location approx 20 minutes walk to marina along promenade. Handy for buses - don't forget to buy a local bus pass. Entertainment average and geared towards young children. The staff appeared to work extremely hard and were engaging without being pushy. Pool and surrounds nice and tidy although presume would be extremely busy high season. Hotel let down by food and quality of drinks. Food was rarely warm and at times looked uncooked. Food presentation was also poor. Over a week we did not have a toaster that worked. Toast rotated at least 7 times and still the bread was white! This is the first hotel I have been in that manged to burn boiled eggs! The food and drinks offered let this hotel down big time.

Hotel very clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. Room cleaned every day. Food, plenty of choice, not always hot enough but salads were lovely.

We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at Palia La Roca which is very good for a 3 star All Inclusive. It was buffet self service for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a wide selection available, plenty of fresh fruit, and good salad bar. There were drink dispensers in the restaurant for all drinks. The evening selection was not quite as extensive but still good. There was a good selection of drinks at the pool/Terrace bar. The hotel was very clean and rooms serviced well. The pool area was clean (Even in the pools were very cold) The staff were all excellent and special mention should be made of Victoria on reception and Matteus on the entertainment staff. There was a very good entertainment programme. I picked this hotel due to the price and reviews. I was not disappointed and would consider staying again.

This hotel is amazing. We arrived early (11am) and was given the key to our room even though check in is advertised as about 2pm. We was also given our all inclusive wrist band straight away. Staff amazing especially Laura who I tried speaking Spanish too and she never laughed too much 😂😂 San Miguel on all inclusive is nice. Coca-Cola and Fanta etc too not cheap crap some hotels do. We didn’t have kids with us but the entertainment team was really good and everyone seemed to be happy. It is on a hill but my mum who is disabled managed to walk down to the beach no problem. About 50 meters down from the hotel there is a subway that takes you straight to the beach, need to go down about 15 / 20 steps but there is a good rail to hold onto. If you struggle walking I would recommend a taxi back. From the marina to the hotel was £7. Taxi from airport to hotel £20. Only 1 plug socket in the room so bring a 4 way extension lead and 1 converter 😜 Bar over the road is great for sports etc too The owner Steve is from wales and doesn’t speak a word of Spanish so don’t worry about chatting to him. Will be back 100% Thank You guys

Me and 2 friends (girls holiday!) stayed here for 5 days at the end of June 2023, and I can say we had a wonderful short break! We stayed all-inclusive and had a room overlooking the pool with a sea view. I have only good things to say about the staff - all were happy and enthusiastic, very attentive and on-the-ball in all areas of hospitality and service. Our room was air-conditioned - which was a must as some days were 34 degrees celsius - at no extra charge. Some of the room's optional extras were mini fridge, safe, beach towels etc. but we didn't need any of these. The room itself was a bit dated which you would expect for a 3 star hotel, but very clean and overall pleasant. The biggest issue we had with the room was no ventilation (no window or extractor fan) in the bathroom so it got very damp and slippy after a couple of back-to-back showers, and took ages to dry out. I would also recommend for daytime nappers or those with younger children to get a room not overlooking the pool as it can get noisy with pool activities and general merriment. The all inclusive buffets were good. A reasonable variety of hot and cold foods that changed slightly day to day. The quality of the food was a bit hit and miss - some things were a bit bland but others were super tasty and I kept going back for more - you just have to experiment and have a bit of everything to find the things you really like. The desserts were usually really good and the fruit and salads fresh and tasty. All food was labelled well for those with specific dietary needs which I thought was very useful. The all inclusive drinks were a real winner for us - very generous pouring of spirits, nice sangria and tap wine, and slushies as well as soft drinks, coffee, tea and water on demand for no extra charge! Ice cream tubs and bar snacks were also offered throughout the day. I was very impressed and we would stay at the hotel for drinks rather than going quite often. The entertainment crew were lovely and would ask if you wanted to join in an activity that day but did not pester (I know sometimes they do) and respected your privacy and quiet times. All in all I was really happy with this stay - Benalmadena is a very family friendly and lovely area of Costa Del Sol in general, so it was nice to find a great beachside base to stay!

I have given this Hotel 4 stars although for the last couple of years I would have rated it 5+ as I really loved it. The staff from front desk to cleaners were absolutely amazing. The food was great and always hot when it should be but this year all changed. The show cooking wasn't an item and food and plates left sitting for a while before being lifted away, the bins were left to overflow and not a nice place to sit outside. My family were staying at another hotel and we all agreed to meet at Palia La Roca and take the evening from there. The Reception staff wouldn't allow them to enter the hotel as for insurance purposes they weren't covered for non residents but two family members did get in and had purchased drinks but the rest had got stopped at the door. Terrible trea**ent from a hotel I had visited 4 times in two years. I shall not return.
