The Windsor Town House

We stayed at this 5-star 'hotel' for 1 night, thank God we didn't stay longer. This place should not have the rank of a hotel! Everything about this place disgusted and disappointed us. We had a horrible basement dirty room for £145 a night. We couldn't change the room. The staff at the check-in was nice and super friendly; however, useless. They didn't help us change our room on arrival when we realized we were placed in the basement. Btw, the reception stopped working after evening time at this '5 star hotel' lol. The room was so dirty, the bedsheets were broken and had hair, the worst thing I have ever experienced in hotels was the SEMEN stains on the bed (see in pics), and the dirty toilet seat... In general, nothing looked clean in the room, literally everything was dusty, had some hair and stains. Just total disgust. I tried to claim a refund from ***********, but they just said that the hotel refuses to refund and they are not even interested in investigation. I am completely shocked that *********** promotes such 'hotels' and doesn't feel responsible for our experience at all. They just ghosted us for now and stopped answering my messages. !!! So, I want to warn everyone here that you should not stay at this place and you should never rely on ***********. You can find a better platform to find hotels, which will help you if you ever experience something like this on your stays. Now we feel like we were completely ripped off, had a terrible stay at someone's old grandma's house that has never been cleaned for 50 years... Very small room in the attic if there were two of you. But the bed was very comfortable. ( cushions were grubby). I had to ask to have it dusted. However,altogether the room could do with a deep clean. Thick grime around the toilet. The remote control was filthy and sticky. The room furnishing were very tired and in poor repair. The lampshade didn’t fit, full of cobwebs and slanted on one side. The list could go on. No tea bags, I had to ask. no biscuits, hot chocolate, or anything special provided. Over 50 stairs to the ‘attic’ rooms. Yet, the location is superb. Disappointed with the price I paid for what I got.

I have just returned from a two day stay at the Windsor townhouse with our cousins who came over from Canada, The hotel is situated in a great location with just a couple of minutes walk to the city centre, I should say that I am not normally the type of person that complains much but I thought I should wright an honest review as I was disappointed with my stay, when I booked the two rooms the images on the website looked very nice but unfortunately it was not what I imagined apart from the breakfast room which is nice, the two rooms we stayed in are in need of some TLC and a deep clean with thick dust particularly on the head of a 4 poster bed in one of the rooms, the furnicture in the room we stayed in had handles missing on the chest of draws and one that was there came off in my hand as I tried to open it, the shower was very poor with hardly any water pressure, as I previously said I don't normally complain but to be fair to people looking to book a stay at the Windsor townhouse ( rated 5 star ) I thought I should.

Positives: very friendly staff, great location. Negatives: definitely tired room. We had a so called four poster that had seen better days. Definitely didn’t look like the pictures on the website. When we asked them about that they said the pictures were indicative but as they had been running for a number of years we should expect some wear and tear? No milk in the fridge so had to go down to the reception in the morning before we could make tea. The sugar and tea bags had no lid on the containers, the sugar was hard! Room not as clean as we’d expect. Etc etc.

This was our first time staying at the Windsor Townhouse, and we will definitely stay again. The staff were genuinely warm, friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Princess Room, complete with four-poster bed, and facing onto the famous Great Pulteney Street. The room was tastefully decorated, and even had a fridge which was a great addition. The bathroom was modern with beautiful smelling toiletries. Breakfast was continental, and included a very good variety of cereals, 3 types of toast, with jam and marmalade, and also a fruit platter. You could also order a hot breakfast from the menu for an additional charge. I would defintiely recommend this hotel without hesitation!

Great location, rooms very comfortable, service excellent and breakfast was great. Rooms may be a bit small but very comfortable and well furnished. We shall definitely stay agian when we next go to Bath as the location is excellent. We highly recommend it.

The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and kind. Felt like being at home. I arrived on my little boys birthday, he had on the day turned two years old. Oliver, who was the gentleman who checked us in. Had kindly presented my little boy just as we arrived. With a beautiful slice of cake to celebrate his birthday. He was okay helpful also. Other staff such as Victoria, Gloria and Katolina were also very friendly and extremely welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel due to beautiful decor, great location and most importantly the kindest of staff. Thank you all for a lovely experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Traveling with my Mom on her second trip to the UK, the Windsor Townhouse made a lasting impression. We were warmly greeted by the staff, given excellent advice for Bath tours and dining and were made to feel at home in their very well appointed facility. Our room looked out over a rugby pitch and was in earshot of the church bells which added to the experience. It is located a 5 minute walk from the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. The included breakfast was a treat. The staff ensured every detail was attended our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Staying at the Windsor Townhouse made us feel as if we were staying in a friend’s home and on a vacation that is comforting. We will definitely return and look forward to forward to our next visit.

Friendly staff, parking 10 minutes walk away, continental breakfast or option of upgrade for extra cost. Comfortable bed, but room smaller than expected with a half size bath. Quiet location. No staff on duty to assist with an issue we had in the evening.
