Das Hotel ist ein ziemlich gemütlicher, ruhiger und schöner Hof. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber gut sauber. Wir waren in der Wärme und es gibt keine Klimaanlage, daher müssen Sie mit dem offenen Fenster schlafen und ein paar Insekten eindringen. Der schlechte Punkt ist, dass es keinen Beamten in der Nacht. Es gibt keinen Weg, Wasser oder andere Dienstleistungen zu bestellen. Wir hatten keine Orte, um die Nacht zu essen. Es ist gut, gegessen zu sein. Sie fühlen sich wie Gastgeber in einem Haus. Frühstück ist sehr gut! Die Tische sind sehr gut gestellt und die Optionen sehr gut. Es ist ein Ort, wo Sie nicht fühlen, wie in einem Hotel.

This charming and extremely well priced hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the main street in Viana do Castelo. The staff was lovely, the hotel charming. The room was spotless, and impeccably comfortable. The bathroom was also sparkling and everything functioned perfectly. Breakfast was lovely. The breakfast staff was cheerful and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We spent three nights at Torre de Gomariz for some rest and relaxation after hiking a portion of the Camino Portuguese, and it was a great choice. Room was very spacious with a nice patio and huge bathroom. Enjoyed a view of the pool and the vineyards in the distance. Bed was very comfortable and it was nice having A/C for our stay. Only complaint about the room was a weird door at the back of the walk in closet that wasn't soundproofed, so often you could hear your neighbors or people walking by. Didn't want to take the car out so we ate all our meals at the property. Breakfast was excellent with both a cold buffet and choice of hot entrees - really enjoyed the pancakes with Nutella. Dinner was on the second floor of the Tower, with a good mix of Portuguese and other offerings. Servings were pretty huge, so we left full every night. It did get loud one evening as there was a tour group taking up most of the restaurant, but fortunately they went to bed earlier than us so it calmed down by dessert. Also did a wine tasting one afternoon, fun to try the various wines and really enjoyed the slight carbonization they use in the white wines. Very surprised when they gifted us with three bottles upon check-out from the hotel, and they came in handy as we were not a huge fan of the wines in Douro or Braga. The spa and pool area are a great offering, especially on rainy days when the outdoor pool isn't possible. We used the steam room and sauna every day of our stay, highly recommend reserving a visit. I also got an excellent massage on the last day of our stay as I was still a bit sore from hiking. Only other issue with our stay was an ill-timed fire alarm at 1:30 in the morning, which took a little time to shut off as most of the staff was still working a wedding. Didn't have a problem falling back to sleep, and the staff nicely gave up 15% off our spending for the inconvenience. Wasn't expecting that, and it was much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in Portugal again.

Das war ein schönes kleines Boutique-Hotel in der Nähe des historischen Zentrums. Wir wurden immer mit einem Lächeln begrüßt und nett behandelt. Ich habe ein Zimmer mit meinem Sohn geteilt und die Zwillingsbetten waren mehr als ausreichend. Das Hotel ist etwas älter, aber der Aufzug funktionierte großartig und das gesamte Gebäude wurde gut gepflegt und sauber. Mein einziges Höhle war da, es gab keine Außenseite, Sie müssen einen Schwimmkappe und Wasserschuhe für den Pool tragen und der Pool war in einem sehr heißen Zimmer im Inneren. Das kontinentale Frühstücksbuffet war gut und bietet viele Variante. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt wirklich genossen und würden hier nochmal bleiben!

This hotel is so beautifully restored and it’s in an ideal location, right next to the train station and the funicular to the hilltop Santa Luzia, in the heart of Viana do Castelo, yet quiet and peaceful. There are many lovely spaces to sit, chat, work, play games, in the common areas. There’s a pool and patio adjacent to the bar, which also serves as the breakfast room. Important for me, due to some mobility limitations: there’s an elevator. I stayed for five nights while my husband was walking the Portuguese Camino, and he took a rest day here and stayed two nights. Our room (202) was, I believe, a standard double room, but it was spacious and very comfortable. It was serviced daily and spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, there was space to unpack and a desk to organize my things (one small drawback being the limited number of outlets, leading me to have to charge my phone next to the sink, risking it getting wet), there was a soaking tub!, and a seating area looked out the window with a view of Santa Luzia (as well as some construction and renovation or maintenance on the railroad station 😊). Some earlier reviewers disparaged the breakfast provided. Something must have changed if their reviews were accurate (maybe their feedback inspired improvement), because the amount and variety offered was considerable: a variety of breads and cereals, spreads, cheeses, deli meats, yogurt, fruit, hard boiled eggs, hot scrambled eggs, bacon, plus juice, coffee, and tea. Quite an appetizing colorful display! The best feature of this hotel though is the incredible staff! Everyone was gracious and always willing to help, with a smile. Daniela and Alberta were especially attentive and helpful to me, and Rui went way “above and beyond” in helping me get train tickets, arranging a massage for my pilgrim husband when he arrived, attending to special requests, giving excellent restaurant recommendations, etc. My heartfelt thanks for all the help so readily and graciously given. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Beschreibung Hotel direkt an der Uferstraße gelegen , die Straße ist etwas laut am Wochenende , gegenüber des Hotels die Promenade und direkt der Strand mit vorgelagerten Naturschutzgebiet. Das Hotel ist sauber und gepflegt . Der Empfangsbereich ist sehr ansprechend , direkt neben der Rezeption befindet sich die Hotelbar und Aufenthaltsbereiche für die Gäste , auch ein schöner heller ” Wintergarten”. Lese und Fernsehbereich auch vorhanden Die Meerblickzimmer sind recht klein , wobei wir das größte in der Reihe für unseren 3 wöchigen Aufenthalt bekamen. Zimmer Nr. 103 . Das Bett ist recht schmahl ca 200 x 160 m, Stauraum im Kleiderschrank sehr begrenzt , drei Schubladen , zwei Ablagefächer oben , zwei Seiten zum aufhängen der Kleidung , jedoch wenige Kleiderbügel . Der Zimmersafe befindet sich auch im Kleiderschrank . Der Safe ist gebührenfrei !!!! Ablagebank für Koffer vorhanden . Der Fernseher empfing als deutsches Programm nur RTL :-( Eine Garderobe fehlte leider gänzlich , haben wir sehr vermisst !!!!!!! Zwei kleine Sessel mit kleinem runden Tisch und Minibar. Tisch und zwei Stühle auf dem Balkon zum Meer hin . Das Bett ist schon ziemlich beansprucht , die Matratzen sollten mal ausgetauscht werden . Reinigung der Zimmer gut :-) Rezeption sehr nett und hilfsbereit , Personal im Restaurant und Frühstücksraum , sehr nett und Kundenorientiert Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr übersichtlich , es wurde in den ganzen drei Wochen leider nicht verändert oder ergänzt . Zwei Sorten Wurst , zwei Sorten Käse , alles ohne Würze ziemlich fad :-( Konfitüre im Plastikpack , Rührei aus dem ” Kanister ”, drei Sorten Brötchen leider auch ohne Geschmack und zwei Sorten Toast , Croissant + Kuchen. Müsli , gekochte Eier und Obst meistens aus der Konservendose. Schauriger Kaffee aus dem Automaten , Fruchtsäfte zu süß und aus der Tüte . 1 Woche geht das ohne weiteres , aber drei Wochen das war schon hart ! Frühstück im Außenbereich möglich Wir hatten HP gebucht , die wir auch leider nicht empfehlen können !!!! Wir empfanden die Speisen immer als ziemlich Geschmacksneutral , einfach nicht lecker !!!!! Jeden Abend suchten wir uns aus der HP-Karte unser Abendessen aus , die ersten drei Positionen waren Standart , ”Starter”Brot, Oliven ,Thunfischpaste , Suppe oder Salat und änderten sich in drei Wochen nicht , einzig die letzten zwei Positionen änderten sich täglich , ein Fisch und ein Fleischgericht Wer bei Fisch und Fleisch nicht fündig wurde , konnte auf Spaghetti Bolongnese oder Lasangne ausweichen , die tägliche Alternative , aber auch nicht lecker !!!! Der Salzstreuer wurde unser ständiger Begleiter in drei Wochen Halbpension Sport & Unterhaltung Schöner ruhiger Innenhof mit Swimmingpool , Kinderbecken , zwei Duschen Sonnenliegen und Schirme vorhanden , Badetücher gegen Gebühr Fitnessraum , nicht genutzt

We stayed here as part of a golfing trip to northern Portugal. We enjoyed the golf course which is very good … if lacking in decent practice facilities. The hotel is nothing special … clean and functional - no bar, but you can buy alcohol in reception for consumption in your room. There is a pool and gym attached which is for use by hotel guests - and outside members too. The staff in the gym were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok. As the hotel does not have a restaurant, we had a package which allowed us to eat in the golf club restaurant. The food here is very mediocre indeed … a set menu with a choice of two dishes per course (more for desert). My veal pasta was pretty much inedible on one night I am sad to say. The staff in the restaurant are very hit and miss … apart from Miguel who tried exceedingly hard and looked after us very well. Thumbs up to him!
