.The room was spacious with contemporary and minimalist design but still very functional. There's even a divider between the bathroom to the rest of the room so it felt like staying in a junior suite instead.
.The facilities were amazing, best indoor pool I've been to ever. It was fitted with all the aqua techs which provide so many massage options. There's also 2 types of saunas, a salt room, a steam room and even a ice tube filled with ice.
.The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing
.The service was so good because I was very frustrated and hangry as the QR code and the TV ordering system didn't work and I called the restaurant repeatedly and no one picked up. So I went down and spoke to Daria, who listened to my concerns and personally took me to the restaurant so that I can order something from the restaurant menu that I really wanted to take back to the room which is not supposed to be done. Diana from In Room Dining even came to deliver the food to my room for me, which actually wasn't her job. I felt looked after and treated like a guest in a 5 star property.
To top it up, we decided to have lunch at the hotel restaurant after checked out and met Vladislav, who gave us an amazing service from food to drinks. Absolutely perfect.
I will definitely come back to stay here next time I am in Sofia and will recommend it to everyone who's coming to Sofia.

GGastnutzerThe Junior Suite was wonderful, essentially a studio apartment with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, large windows, a private balcony seating area and extensive shelf space. The bathroom was very modern with a very nice tall shower. The beds were very comfortable and the room was large, with a couch. Definitely a great place for both short and long stays.
There were a few small inconveniences in the room, but nothing that affected our stay (water seemed to leak over the door of the shower onto the shower mat; toilet seat was very stiff and loud to open/close; closets were very wide but oddly short to accommodate extra drawers, so too small to hang dresses in full length; the automatic lighting inside the closets did not turn off correctly; and our key card stopped working in the middle of our stay and had to be fixed at the reception). The hotel is very close to a tram stop, so it's easy to get into the city center, and it's also very close to the Cultural Center. It is a bit more of a trek to walk into the city, but still possible in 20 minutes or so. The hotel is located on a small street off the main road and the sidewalk leading up to it is very narrow and in disrepair. You would not guess that the inside of the hotel is so sleek and modern based on the older surrounding area.

AAnonymer BenutzerGroßes, komfortables Zimmer, das allerdings besser instand gehalten werden könnte. Im Winter empfiehlt sich ein Zimmer mit Westausrichtung, da die Luftverschmutzung aus Nordosten deutlich höher ist. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Eine 300 m lange Asphaltstraße am Hotelausgang für den Flughafentransfer zur Hauptstraße wäre wünschenswert gewesen; die derzeitige holprige und unbefestigte Straße ist recht unangenehm.

GGastnutzerHotel is good, service leaves much to be desired. We arrived at the hotel at 2 p.m. and asked on reception if the room is ready (normal check-in at 3 p.m.). The answer was that the room will be ready by check-in time (3 p.m.). We came to the reception at 3 p.m., our room was not ready. The reception lady asked ask to wait 10-15 min. We came to the reception at 15:30, the room was not ready. The lady apologised and asked us to wait 15-20 min maximum. We came at 16:10 - the room was not ready. On my question “when will it be ready?” I’ve got the answer “I don’t know”. I asked the lady to call to the floor responsible/cleaning supervisor and clarify. The answer was “ I already called them, they also don’t know”. I got angry as nobody could tell me when we can expect the room ready. After I applied to their manager, the key was provided to us in 5 min. The room was not so bad, but in the bathroom there was strong sewage smell that stayed in the room for the whole night.

GGastnutzerThe attitude of the receptionist was unprofessional, rude and unacceptable.
For one hour, the whole hotel didn’t know how to charge my credit card, as their credit card machine doesn’t follow EU rules for 3D security, thus jeopardising clients’ private data. I wasted a full hour on the phone with my bank, only to find out that the hotel doesn’t follow rules on how to securely handle credit card data. The management kept telling me that it’s my fault, despite the fact I never before have had problems with card payments before.
Breakfast food was decent, with a choice between a couple of set menus.
The hotel was clean, rooms were quiet, and it was situated and in a convenient location, within 3-4 minutes from the nearest metro station.
Some of the photos on their site are dated, as the interior is different now.

NNoi ChaUnser Aufenthalt im Hotel Budapest in Sofia war angenehmen und bequem. Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend, leicht zugänglich und nahe zu vielen wichtigen Attraktionen, so dass es eine perfekte Basis für die Erforschung der Stadt.
Das Essen im Hotelrestaurant war lecker, mit einer Vielzahl gut zubereiteter Gerichte, die unsere Erwartungen erfüllten. Der Abendessensservice während des Neujahres war jedoch bemerkenswert langsamer, wahrscheinlich aufgrund der großen Zahl der Gäste, die die Gelegenheit feiern. Obwohl die Wartezeit angesichts der Urlaubsgeschwindigkeit verständlich war, hätte etwas mehr Effizienz die Erfahrung verbessert.
Das Hotel Budapest bietet im Allgemeinen eine gute Küche, eine gute Lage und eine willkommene Atmosphäre. Mit wenig Aufmerksamkeit auf den Service während der Spitzenzeiten ist es eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für einen Aufenthalt in Sofia!

TTott21Normales Ibis-Hotel in der Nähe des Flughafens. Dame an der Rezeption war nicht gerade freundlich. Service im Restaurant war überfordert. Ok für eine Nacht als Zwischenstopp. Nicht für Städtetrip geeignet.
