Kingsbury hotel is in a prime location closer to the beach activities. Some rooms are with sea view. Shopping mall is nearby that offers variety of shops and services. Restaurants provide wide selection of food options with local and international cuisines. The rooms are carpeted which emits old odour. The room furniture needs modernising. We experienced issues with booking. They couldn’t find our booking and gave us a room in a lower floor and the furnitures were old with smelly carpet. On my complaint, we were upgraded to a suite room in a higher floor which was classy and the view was excellent. Don’t know I can afford to stay in a suite. The staffs were helpful. I didn’t have a chance to use all amenities but I noticed there were many options. I will stay again if I am given a room in a higher floor or if I can afford a suite room.

Die Gästezimmer sind typische Stadthotels – weiße Wände, einfache Betten, unscheinbar, wie ein anonymer Brief, gelesen und dann im Reisewind verstreut. Nur der Pool auf dem Dach vermag Träume zu wecken. Ein azurblauer Pool schwebt über der Stadt, die Skyline von Colombo fließt in der Dämmerung: Silhouetten von Pagoden und Glasfassaden begegnen einander, Krähen tragen die untergehende Sonne über den Himmel, und der Wind des Indischen Ozeans trägt den fernen Klang von Schiffshörnern. In diesem Moment blickt man nicht zu Bawas Tempeln hinauf, sondern spürt einfach die Stille des tropischen Flairs. Für diesen Blick auf den Pool und die Dämmerung lohnt es sich zu verweilen.

Das Zimmer war recht groß und geräumig. Die größten Nachteile waren die mangelhafte Schalldämmung und die zu niedrigen, weichen und unbequemen Kissen. Das Frühstücksangebot war im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels in Colombo ordentlich. Die Lobby war sehr repräsentativ und der Service hervorragend.

I recently stayed at the Colombo Court Hotel, and while it offers good value and excellent rooms, the hospitality felt a bit rigid for a tourist. First, the bright spots: The room itself was fantastic. It was large, impeccably clean, and featured great-quality sheets with plenty of excellent pillows. The bathroom was stocked with plush towels and quality toiletries. Since I arrived fighting a cold, the great selection of coffee and teas in the room was an absolute lifesaver. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived at noon after an all-night flight. Even though it's the low season and the hotel felt completely empty, the front desk rigidly enforced the 2:00 PM check-in time. They didn't even offer an early check-in for a fee. Instead, I was told I could wait out in the heat by the pool for two hours. There was also a strange billing issue at check-in. The front desk asked me for a $43 payment, even though I had already prepaid in full. I had to firmly show them my paperwork showing the booking platform's virtual credit card payment before they backed off. They didn't bring it up again, but it felt a bit like a shakedown attempt. Finally, my booking confirmation explicitly stated checkout was between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Yet, at 11:30 AM, staff knocked on my door telling me checkout was actually at 11:00 AM. Even after showing the front desk my confirmation, they insisted their rule was 11:00 AM. The staff was always friendly and polite, but it felt like they were serving their rulebook rather than their guests. The property is very clean but has much more of a business-traveler vibe than a welcoming tourist destination. I have another reservation here for my return leg, but I’ll be canceling it to stay somewhere else.

Ich kam um 12 Uhr mittags im Hotel an, um mein Gepäck abzugeben, konnte aber schon früher einchecken, worüber ich sehr dankbar war. Lage, Sauberkeit, Service und Ausstattung waren für den Preis absolut zufriedenstellend. Das Gallery Cafe ist in der Nähe, daher würde ich bei einem erneuten Besuch in Colombo definitiv wieder hier übernachten und es auch Freunden empfehlen.

Das Marine Bay Colombo (MB), ein Hotel direkt am Meer, liegt nur wenige Schritte von der Straße und der Küstenbahn (mit Anschluss an die Fähre) entfernt und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Indischen Ozean. Die Lage ist gut, Geschäfte und Einkaufszentren sind fußläufig erreichbar. Die Zimmer bieten Meerblick, und man kann gelegentlich die Fähre vorbeifahren sehen. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und mit einer eher einfachen Ausstattung versehen, aber sehr sauber und hygienisch. Das Personal ist herzlich, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet, die Betten groß und komfortabel, und die Toilettenartikel wie Handtücher, Bettwäsche und Kissen sind von guter Qualität. Zahnbürsten, Zahnpasta, Kämme und Hausschuhe werden jedoch nicht bereitgestellt (dies ist in Sri Lanka wohl üblich). Das Frühstück im Hotel ist ebenfalls gut; die Auswahl ist zwar nicht riesig, aber abwechslungsreich, nahrhaft und schmackhaft. Insgesamt bietet dieses Hotel gute Ausstattung, guten Service und ein angenehmes Ambiente für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt.

Große Wohnung, 2 Schlafzimmer mit vollen Amnistía. Frühstück hat eine Menge Auswahl, aber der Geschmack ist Bot ziemlich gut. Nur Becher-Abschnitt macht gut. freundliches Personal, gute Lage, schöner Blick.

Das Hotel Nippon Colombo bietet einen anständigen Aufenthalt mit wenigen Schlagzeilen und Fehlern. Die Zimmer waren ok ziemlich sauber, aber könnte einige Aktualisierungen in Bezug auf Dekoration und Wartung nutzen. Der Service war freundlich, aber manchmal etwas langsam, und einige Einrichtungen fühlten sich ein wenig datiert. Das Restaurant hat uns wirklich mit den srilankanischen Gerichten und einer Vielzahl von Optionen beeindruckt, die authentisch und gut vorbereitet fühlten. Ob es Frühstück oder Abendessen war, die Mahlzeiten standen konsequent und waren das Highlight des Aufenthalts.

I booked this hotel on August 8 and received a confirmation. However, when I arrived at around 9 PM on August 15, the hotel had no record of my booking under my name. It was a really frustrating experience – especially after a long day of travel. I contacted Trip.com customer service immediately, and they worked on it, but unfortunately they couldn't secure a room for me at this property. I had to find another hotel last minute that night. The good news: Trip.com has already reached out to me and confirmed they'll reimburse all my costs. That's a huge relief, and I really appreciate their responsiveness. Despite this one-off glitch, I still trust Trip.com for future travels – these things happen, and they handled it professionally. Since I never actually stayed here, I can't comment on the rooms, cleanliness, or service – so I'm keeping my ratings neutral across all categories. A quick tip for fellow travelers: Always double-check your booking by calling the hotel directly a day before arrival, especially if you're arriving late. Even with confirmation, errors can slip through. That way, you avoid the stress I went through. Overall, I can't recommend or criticize this hotel – I just didn't get to stay. But full credit to Trip.com for stepping up and making things right. Will definitely book with them again.

Excellentw location next to many great restaurants including Chilax. Nice uninterrupted view of the Indian ocean. Good aircon and ample hot water in the bathroom. Good WiFi throughout. It’s a bit loud from the passing trains even after the windows are closed. Rooftop view of the Indian ocean is really relaxing. Staff is nice and relaxed. We recommend.
