Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

Lovely clean refurbished hotel and every one of the staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly. We could not fault them at all. They all work very hard. Two speciality restaurants but we only managed to get into Luigi which was excellent too. Pool area great but music when entertainment team dancing a little too loud. Drinks top quality and food in buffet restaurant excellent Only downside was our sea view room. It was a side view and could not see the sea when sitting on the balcony as there was a side wall. I don’t think this was the hotel’s fault but TUI and the classification on their website. £490 extra was a lot to pay for this view. We had two rooms and could only change one which was disappointing but we were there during a Portuguese bank holiday when the restaurant became a little chaotic too. Having said all this I’d visit again if ever wanted a holiday in this area again. Just a short walk to the beach too

Our first four days coincided with English half term and a Portugese holiday and as others have said it was very busy and service in bars and restaurants challenging. I don't think the hotel has been open long following refurbishment. We spoke with the management who were very apologetic and very aware of where the improvements were needed and made no excuses just looked for solutions which was refreshing. Our remaining week was lovely. It was quieter which enabled the staffing issue to be addressed (shortage across the Algarve due to accommodation costs) and service was very good. We saw improvements every day, service in the restaurant was good and tables cleared quickly. More umberellas around the main pool, more sunbeds, and there already seemed plenty. Move from plastic cups to hard plastic wine goblets around the pool. We went to the Italian twice and enjoyed both but saw an improvement the second time, the Risotto was scrumptious! Wine in all restaurants is bottled and very nice and the beer is Super Bock. The main pool area is lovely but we spent our time in the adults only area which had some four poster sunbeds and infinity pool which was gorgeous, surrounded by trees and flowers, just blissful. There was an enclosed area for parents with smaller children with a play area and pool which looked good and tennis courts and a football court which were popular. We upgraded to a bigger room and glad we did as the balcony was huge and the extra storage appreciated. All the staff are lovely and work hard, the manager definitely leads by example, he was everywhere and at all times of day. They do enforce the removal of towels policy which we found a good thing. The location is amazing. 390 yards down the path from the pool area and you are on the beach. There are a couple of bars to the left, one you need to climb through the rocks to get to but we preferred Sun and Sombre and also Restuarant Atlandida which is superb but you will need to book early. We wanted to revisit but could not get in again. There are some lovely walks on the boardwalk if you go right all the way you will get to the sea wall and lighthouse, approx 50 mins or 25 mins walk to Alvor, which has a lovely old town and marina although you can go on the road and do it in 10 mins. Uber about 3.5 euro, taxi 5 euro approx. We are looking forward to returning and seeing how much more they have achieved.

This is an amazing hotel. Amazing quality of food, the buffet is elegant and the service is amazing. We got to meet Sergio that just arrived and his personality, charm and guest contact is one of kind his attention to detail and guest one of kind. Carlos another amazing person always involved and makes you feel like your at home. Thank all and the rest of team

This is a lovely hotel but is just let down by the food. The hotel itself was great, super clean bedrooms, pool area was good especially with the addition of the adult area. The rooms were cleaned daily. The drinks provided were definitely a 10/10, so much choice! We also really enjoyed the paddle tennis and football pitch. The staff were also all extremely welcoming which made our stay enjoyable. However, the standard of food in both the buffets and restaurants is not good enough. Especially in Luigi’s which you would expect better food as it is the on site restaurant. Food is often very bland and cold with a lack of choice and labelling. Breakfast was nice but we did struggle on an evening with the choices. Definitely personal opinion as we did not travel with children but the entertainment team are too full on for our likings. Especially when around the pool, the team would come over to guests on the sun beds. Some may like this but we found this over bearing especially when we were trying to relax. Overall it is a good hotel, just majorly let down with the food. Other than that, our stay was great.

after an early morning flight from Manchester, Arrived at the pastiana blue at around 1.15,told our room wasn’t ready they said they’d txt us, after waiting 2 hours we went to reception to be told they had tried to contact us( lies, as checked the number they had and it was correct) this was the start to a very disappointing week spent there, I would definitely not recommend this hotel, the food was very poor quality and mostly bland and cold!! One night we couldn’t get into the restaurant until 9pm, had to queue as the tables were all full of empty plates etc, waiters walking round with no idea what to do. The guy working at bubbles bar worked tirelessly having to make the cocktails on his own, always people having to wait ages for a drink, he always had a smile though! All in all I have no idea how this hotel is a tui 4* plus hotel, the only plus is it’s had a lovely refurb by the looks of it and the rooms were clean the bed was very comfortable. After reading reviews from May 24 it’s unbelievable that absolutely no improvements have been made.

amazing hotel staff were friendly and welcoming food was amazing the whole experience was just amazing great value for money and with the beach being a 5 minute walk and the alvor marina around the corner it’s in the perfect location all round 10/10

Brilliant service, food and facilities, absolutely wonderful entertainment and the staff are marvellous too! They went above and beyond to make sure our visit was amazing! The live music was a highlight, Vania was great and knew all the classics. On top of all of that , the area itself is lovely, only a short walk to the beach and a slightly longer but definitely manageable walk to Alvor town, would 100% recommend!
