The Dirty Bottles Inn

Wonderful stay! The room is clean, the breakfast is great, the staff were nice and accommodating, the hotel is close to attractions. Will definitely stay here again.

Rushed welcome after a 20h journey however in all fairness it was dinnertime and the restaurant was packed. Within 5 minutes, we were brought to the 2 bedroom unit, given a breakfast card to fill out for the next morning and left to ourselves to ohhh and ahhh at the coziness and cleanliness of all of the spaces within. Plush white bedding and pillows. Soft thick bath towels. Coffee maker with lots of choices. Cozy welcoming living area with large windows and view to the small park area across the street. Everything worked as it should and we had no issues at all. The location is second to none. A few steps away from the castle and the pretty town shops yet quiet and peaceful. We were there for 2 nights and had all of our meals at their gorgeous welcoming restaurant. Every single meal was ordered quickly, brought to us quickly and served with a friendly smile and a bit of a chat. And the food was so good! … I mean, really really delicious and surprisingly fair priced. I cannot recommend them enough, for lodging and food and location. The rest of our trip lodgings and meals were constantly compared to Dirty Bottles and hands down, nowhere came close even though of all of our hotels stays, this was by far the lowest priced.

We just walked past this place as we didnt want to eat at the castle and decided to give it a go. And WOW, perfect Sunday roast lunch for really reasonable price. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend isntead of eating at the castle grounds really simple cafeteria.

We stayed in the lodge, a separate area across the pathway, it was lovely and staff couldnt be any more helpful. We also had evening meal (crab slider was delightful) and breakfast which was ordered the evening before and arrived fresh at our table. Would highly recommend the lodge, hotel and restaurant

Fab stay in great hotel located very close to town centre. Relaxed a**osphere, good food and quirky interior. We loved it.

Really enjoyed our visit to the dirty bottles, great a**osphere in this very old pub, read about the story of the dirty bottles in the window and the mysterious death of the last man who touched them. Great staff on hand to give advice on food. The food was excellent with a great selection of real ales call in give it a go. Book a table to avoid disappoin**ent

Lovely old pub with really nice, comfy rooms, central location, very close to lots of castles with plenty to do. Breakfast was great but not very impressed with the evening meal, meat was very dry and overcooked. Staff ok but not great sunday morning when we tried to hand passes back for refunds, reluctant to open the door and just laughed at us through the window when we were knocking. Would go back due to rooms and location.

Came across this on a wet evening and found it to be warm and friendly. Great food and fantastic prices. Portion sizes were plenty and lovely a**osphere within the setting. Between the 4 of us we had 2 roast meats and 2 smokehouse off the menu and no one was left disappointed.

Visited twice, once for drinks & once for food. Staff were lovely throughout both visits -- despite being busy all were smiling & polite. Food was great, reasonably sized portions & well made. The inside of the restaurant & the bathrooms are decorated very nicely, there's a very cozy a**osphere. 10/10 experience - would 100% recommend!
