Kefetew Guest House was our landing point for two days after arriving Ethiopia. Genet is a well-seasoned host, having lived and managed restaurants extensively in the U.S. before returning to her country of birth after the death of her father. As we were traveling with our two teeen daughters, we were covering a family room in the first floor. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was excellent with ample of hot water. What sets this guesthouse apart, however, is the quality of food. Genet and her kitchen crew manage the perfect fusion between traditional Ethiopian food and dishes that are more easy to the Western palate. As traditional food is healthy and tasty, you will get used to it very fast, but if you travel with children, Genet's kitchen is a very good starting point from a culinary perspective. I would also like to remark that we left two suitcases at Genet's house for a charity to pick up in the following days. Not only was this not a problem to Genet - she even gave us an update once the goods were collected. Kefetew Guest House is located at CMC road, which is quite a busy road leading to the airport. At night however, the neighbourhood is quiet. You might however get an early wake-up call by the muezzin of a mosque situated nearby. To us, this was not a disturbance, as we considered this an exotic increase of our vacation experience. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We would like to add the following general observations which we found helpful at the time of our travelling through Ethiopia (April and May 2023). These observations are not related to above review, but should considered as additional input for readers considering to travel to and in Ethiopia: 1. At the time of this writing, Ethiopia still suffered from the consequences of two years of Covid and 16 months of civil war. Tourists were still scarce, therefore we were both regarded as a source of potential business and as a welcome change in perspective. The Ethiopians we met were friendly, open and curious. We responded friendly and open ourselves, but remained firm when things got too overwhelming. 2. The majority of Ethiopians are orthodox Christians with a minority of Muslims. Although people are tolerant and friendly, they take their religion seriously. When visiting churches and mosques, the tried to treat these institutions with utmost respect and dignity, also with our dress attire (no tank tops please). If visiting a church on Sunday, we would recommend buying a white shawl to cover shoulders and (women) head, they cost almost nothing, make a good souvenir and earn you the respect of other churchgoers. Most of the churches have guides eager to explain paintings and structures - and bear in mind: If a curtain is covering an entrance or a painting, it is there for a reason and not as an invitation to boldly go where no tourist went b

The place is ok for a night or two, especially if you are on a layover. It's conveniently located in Bole close to the airport and to some restaurants and bars. Complementary airport shuttle 24/7. Breakfast is available but limited. The rooms are ok. They are clean but desperately need renovation. In my room, the floor was full of scratches and the color was coming off, the furniture was old and partly broken, the curtains had holes, bedsheets and towels were almost falling apart. Still, for a night it was ok if you don't have high expectations and cleanliness matters more to you. What I didn't like was that I booked a suite room (Genius upgrade from booking.com) but upon my arrival I was given a standard room. The reception didn't inform me about that, I just noticed when I entered the room. When I asked about it, they told me that the room was not available because someone had Covid and couldn't check out. However, the hotel has several suite rooms (and when I checked the night before for a friend, there were still suites bookable). So it seems they just didn't want to give me the room upgrade... I also asked them before my arrival to check about an event that was supposed to happen in a nearby hotel the night of my arrival, but they never did.

Erstaunlicher Aufenthalt! Die Gastfreundschaft bei Haile Grand Addis war außergewöhnlich - wir waren sehr willkommen und die Aufmerksamkeit von der Mitarbeiter war 10/10. Unser Zimmer war wunderschön und das Frühstück war lecker. Sehr empfehlenswert Besuch.

Sehr gutes Hotel, in Adsbabe gehört zu einem Fünf-Sterne-Niveau, die Mitarbeiter hier sind sehr gut. Ich habe mich am Geburtstag des Abreisetags gefreut, sie haben mich auch speziell auf den Geburtstagskak vorbereitet, sehr überrascht!

Das Dach des Hotels Adswa, die Einrichtungen sind komplett, basierend auf dem Zuhause kann alle Bedürfnisse erfüllt werden, die Zimmertypen sehen Richtung und Konfiguration, die Einrichtungen sind neu, das Hotel ist das chinesische Essen, das Restaurant im ersten Stock des zweiten Stocks enthält ein Paket, es gibt einen chinesischen Spa, das Dach-Stipendium kann die Aussicht auf die Stadt von Adswa beobachten, Neben einem Fußballplatz können Sie das Spiel sehen.

Staff were friendly, willing to help and occasionally went out of their way like when we needed to order a cab. Staff at the main bar downstairs were exceptional and quite engaging, promptly responding to every request. For the meals, I ordered for room service twice and none of the meals came as per the menu order - both were fairly flat and lacked vegetables. That said, rooms are well spaced and clean.

This is about 5 minutes' drive from Bole airport. The hotel is a good sized, well equipped hotel with a nice breakfast for your day. We did need a few things from the staff like the location of a late night pharmacy and they called around and got us the information and directions we needed to help us out. That was huge! The location is amid downtown's restaurants, shops, malls, and more. Even a Burger King a block away. English speaking was perfect! The room was very well appointed with waters, amenities and a really good bathroom.

Das neue Hotel ist relativ sauber und laut am Straßenrand. Die Einrichtungen sind komplett und das Personal an der Rezeption ist sehr gut. Das Schlimmste ist chinesisches Essen. Das chinesische Restaurant auf der negativen Etage hat nur sehr wenige Leute und sagt nicht, wie es schmeckt. Die Zutaten sind wirklich frisch und fischig. Ich weiß nicht, wie lange es gedauert hat, chinesisches Frühstück zum Frühstück und etwas Kartoffelraspel zu essen. Ich kann Buffet wirklich empfehlen.

Dieses Hotel befindet sich im Transitbereich des internationalen Flughafens in Addis Abeba und ist gut wert, wenn Sie eine lange Layout haben. Das Zimmer ist wunderschön und sauber, die Dusche - schwach, und das Bett - sublime. Das Frühstücksbuffet war außerdem eine wunderbare Variante und war wirklich lecker. Die Geschäfte und Restaurants sind sehr teuer und Einrichtungen nicht groß, so ist es definitiv wert, im Hotel zu buchen. Es ist erheblich billiger, durch trip.com zu buchen, nur sicher, dass Sie mindestens einen Tag im Voraus buchen, wenn Sie sehr früh landen - Buchungen müssen von der Büro bestätigt werden, die erst um 8 Uhr (Ethiopien Zeit) eröffnet. (Meine Fotos machen nicht das Bett oder Dusche Gerechtigkeit!)
