SSHAKIB16Nestled in the lush highlands near Ella, my stay around Ravana Falls was nothing short of breathtaking. The property, often referred to locally as “Ravana Rabge,” perfectly captures the charm and serenity that make this region one of Sri Lanka’s most beloved travel destinations.
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the stunning architecture and its seamless blend with nature. Built across multiple levels on a hillside, the structure offers panoramic views of rolling green mountains, dense forests, and the distant valley below. The design is both modern and rustic, with warm wooden finishes, open balconies, and large glass windows that allow natural light to flood in throughout the day. Early mornings here feel magical—the soft golden sunlight gently touches the hills, while birdsong creates a peaceful wake-up call.
One of the highlights of the property is its beautifully maintained outdoor space. The pool area is particularly inviting, offering a refreshing escape after a day of exploring nearby attractions. Sitting by the pool, surrounded by greenery and fresh mountain air, creates a sense of calm that is hard to find elsewhere. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, encouraging you to relax and fully enjoy the moment.
The rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Each space provides a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, with attention given to both aesthetics and functionality. Waking up to a balcony view of the hills is an experience in itself—perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or coffee while soaking in the scenery. The overall ambiance makes it ideal for couples, solo travelers, or even small groups looking for a peaceful retreat.
Another major advantage of staying here is its proximity to key attractions. Ravana Falls is just a short distance away, offering a spectacular natural sight and a refreshing stop for visitors. GGinbuHowwanDieses Mal habe ich das perfekteste Hotel in Sri Lanka gehabt, das mehr als fünf Sternen wert ist.
Wir reservieren ein Verwaltungshaus, ein großes Bett unten und zwei kleine Betten oben. Die elektrische Fensterschachtel ist fast vollständig aussehend und der Balkon ist zu sehen, wie der Berg von außen ist. Sie können auch drei Brücken und einen Zug übersehen.
Die Minibar gab Dutzende von Packungen, die alle kostenlos sind, Sichuan Wasser ist auch kostenlos, Wein und Getränke.
Der Pool ist sehr gut und sehr ausgezeichnet, wie ein unbegrenzter Pool.
Es ist sicher, dass Sie mit dem Essen wählen, das Essen ist ein fünf-Top-Bestell-Stil, sehr lecker und sehr speziell, ohne Getränke. Das Frühstück hat auch eine sehr spezielle Eiertasche, die sehr schöne Fotos auf dem Weg zum Restaurant machen kann.
Die einzige ist, dass es mehr Würmer gibt. Die einzigen beiden Taschen der gesamten Reise sind, die hier gepflastert wurden, wenn sie nachts schlafen.

GGastnutzerHimmel auf Erden! Absolut vermasselt jeden Morgen mit Frühstück auf ihrem Dach übersehen den berühmten Ella Rock. Vielleicht der beste Schlafzimmerblick, den ich je gesehen habe. Wir reisen im April, das bekanntlich muggen und heiß ist, aber die elektrischen Fans sind sehr mächtig und halten uns schön und cool in den Abenden, sie haben sogar einen Schlaf auf sie gesetzt!
Ich hätte nicht mehr gefragt. 5 min TukTuk nach und von der Stadt (500sr oder £ 1.50). Oder einen ruhigen 10-minütigen Spaziergang.

TtorinessWenn man bedenkt, dass dies ein 3-Sterne-Hotel ist, sind die Pluspunkte die großen Zimmer mit Balkon und fantastischer Aussicht (zumindest für uns). Der Pool ist sauber und ziemlich groß, ebenfalls mit fantastischer Aussicht und einem Wasserspiel aus Beton mit Elefantenmotiven!!! Die Lage des Hotels ist auch ziemlich gut – weit genug von anderen Hotels entfernt, um ruhig zu sein, aber nah genug an Ellas Hauptstraße, sodass man sie in 10–15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichen oder einem Tuk-Tuk-Fahrer den doppelten Preis von Colombo zahlen kann, um hin und zurück zu kommen. Der große Minuspunkt für uns war, dass das Zimmer nicht täglich gereinigt wurde, obwohl uns beim Einchecken gesagt wurde, dass es gereinigt würde. Und mir wurde als Grund dafür genannt, dass wir unseren Schlüssel nicht abgegeben hätten – was seltsam erscheint, nachdem ich jahrzehntelang in Hotels gewohnt habe und nie dazu aufgefordert wurde oder musste, einen Schlüssel abzugeben, um eine normale tägliche Zimmerreinigung zu bekommen. Die Unterstellung, es sei unsere Schuld, dass wir keinen Schlüssel abgegeben hätten (nicht, dass uns das beim Einchecken gesagt worden wäre), war extrem ärgerlich. Das Essen war ok, aber überteuert, sodass wir woanders gegessen haben (es gab viele Möglichkeiten). Es gab viele Kleinigkeiten in den Zimmern, die man leicht hätte verbessern können – auf jeden Fall keine zerrissenen Badetücher und keine leere TV-Halterung von der Wand (als ob da mal ein Fernseher gehangen hätte, aber jetzt nicht mehr – oder war es nur in unserem Zimmer so, wer weiß). All diese Kleinigkeiten summieren sich zu einem Zimmerpreis, den ich wirklich zu hoch finde – aber wir sind in der Hochsaison hier, also ist das vielleicht einfach der übliche Preis.

GGastnutzerWir kamen müde und nicht in Geist, aber wir waren so spirituell getroffen, dass der Stimmung auf einmal stieg. Die Gastgeber hatten Tee, kommunizierten im Haus – fühlen sich nicht als Kunde, sondern als willkommener Gast.
Hotel am oberen Rand des Berges, und von jedem Zimmer – Ausfahrt zur Terrasse mit erstaunlicher Aussicht. Am Morgen wachst du auf – und du hast nur Berge und Schweigen. Das Zimmer ist sauber, komfortabel, alles wird bis zu kleinen Dingen gedacht.
Das Frühstück wurde speziell für unsere Präferenzen zubereitet: frisches Obst, Eier, Toasts, sogar Muzzi! Das Personal ist nicht formal freundlich, sondern wirklich gut.
Wenn Sie nicht nur übernachten wollen, sondern sich um die Seele kümmern und sich mit der Seele – Hier ist genau Ihr Platz. Ich möchte wieder zurückkehren und allen empfehlen. Vielen Dank an die Gastgeber für eine solche Atmosphäre!

SSwatiKWe had 2 nights in Hotel Onrock. It's a nice hotel and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. The breakfast was good. The only thing is that the hotel is located quite high up, and the walk-up is very steep. Other than that, all was good.

GGastnutzerAlthough the location is a little inaccessible, that’s how the beautiful view of train coming out from tunnel can be seen. And the inaccessible location is overly compensated by the service, there is TukTuk to fetch you from Ella Town or Ella station when you arrive. During your stay, they fetched us back from Ella town after dinner around 9pm to the accommodation for the convenience. Also upon check out, they sent us back to Ella station. So, you can to enjoy the view in absolute nature without compromising the convenience. Absolutely love the place. Just walking distance to 9 Arch.

We had an **absolutely wonderful** experience at Alta Vista, thanks to the **exceptional hospitality** of **Nandan and his team**. The **spacious, well-equipped rooms** (with both fans and AC) provided a **comfortable and relaxing retreat**.
The **breakfast was a highlight** – a **delicious, wide spread** that set the perfect tone for our days. The **prime location** was unbeatable – just a **2-minute walk to the main city center**, with easy access to **trending restaurants and vibrant spots**.
What truly made our stay special was the **attentive service and warm atmosphere**. **Great food, fantastic service, and genuinely caring staff** – we couldn’t have asked for more!

One thing which can make more effective is WhatsApp service. WhatsApp will speed up things. Service was prompt if you have a Srilanka number over phone call.

MMaso Maso (Maso)This was one of my best stays in Sri Lanka. The only thing I could fault the place for, was the water pressure was not very good. I know serious world problems right. As a frequent world traveler I look for clean/safe/valuable for money accommodation, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, working AC for the hot climates and good Wi Fi. This place ticked all those boxes and some. Great hosts and you have the option of paying the extra for a home cooked meal, which was tasty and plentiful. It is located in a very quiet serene part of Ella and you will either be faced with a short drive into the Ella township or an approx 20min walk. The hosts went out of their way to ensure a great stay, helped with luggage up the steep stairs to the accommodation and bought some required items, when the host went into town. Pics shown stairs leading up to the accommodation, so definitively not wheel chair friendly. Another pic shows the evening meal. We also opted for the host to provide breakfast and it was just as good and affordable.
