This was a really lovely stay in a glamping tent which would highly recommend. The staff looked after us very well - Solomon in particular was an exceptional guide. We also had a fantastic dinner under the stars.
However a couple of things to mention:
The safari is a 40 minute drive away as the accommodation is far from the park entrance. Not a problem, but worth noting.
The water wasn’t working for a short while, but this was fixed quickly. Don’t expect a 5 star luxury stay, but I was really impressed with the tents.
We were the only ones staying there, which meant it was lacking in ambiance a little bit.

Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage und Aussicht und insgesamt war es eine angenehme Erfahrung. Die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch und die Aussicht atemberaubend, was den Aufenthalt wirklich verschönert. Egal, ob Sie den Sonnenaufgang oder den Sonnenuntergang beobachten, die Landschaft ist atemberaubend.
Das Zimmer ist auch sehr groß, die Einrichtungen sind auch gut, das Frühstück und Abendessen im Restaurant sind sehr gut, ich empfehle dieses Hotel.

Himmel auf Erden! Absolut vermasselt jeden Morgen mit Frühstück auf ihrem Dach übersehen den berühmten Ella Rock. Vielleicht der beste Schlafzimmerblick, den ich je gesehen habe. Wir reisen im April, das bekanntlich muggen und heiß ist, aber die elektrischen Fans sind sehr mächtig und halten uns schön und cool in den Abenden, sie haben sogar einen Schlaf auf sie gesetzt!
Ich hätte nicht mehr gefragt. 5 min TukTuk nach und von der Stadt (500sr oder £ 1.50). Oder einen ruhigen 10-minütigen Spaziergang.
11/10 würde empfehlen

Bequem, weil es sich in der Nähe der Station und der Busbahnhof befindet. Es ist auf dem Berg, aber seit dem Morgen hat der östliche Himmel geöffnet, was mich sehr gut fühlt. Wichtigstens, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und freundlich.

Our recent stay at Mandara Rosen Yala was a genuinely pleasant experience. The hotel's commitment to cleanliness was evident, and the staff were consistently helpful, making our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast each morning provided a good start to the day, while the dinner buffet was particularly impressive, offering a fabulous spread that was a highlight of our evenings.
The hotel's serene atmosphere allowed us to relax and recharge, which was much appreciated after exploring the local area. We felt welcomed and valued as guests throughout our stay, thanks to the attentive service.
If our travels bring us back to Kataragama, Mandara Rosen Yala will certainly be our hotel of choice once more. It's an establishment that promises comfort and excellent dining experiences.

Ich habe oft Sandwiches um 6 Uhr morgens gefragt, aber ich bin sehr besorgt, weil die Rezeption nicht in die Küche gekommen ist. Aber das Küchenpersonal hat gute Arbeit geleistet und in fünf Minuten sehr leckere Sandwiches vorbereitet. Danke. Dieser Ort ist eine sehr schlanke Hügel, so ich denke, es sollte kein großer Wagen sein, aber ich denke, wenn Sie schwer sind, können Sie nicht aufsteigen. Fünf Minuten zu Fuß können Sie in das Chill Restaurant erreichen, also ist es sehr gut für die Position. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, ein offenes Zimmer zu wählen, nicht ein Berg.

PPurplehaseWe had 2 deluxe double rooms booked. So far so good. On arrival it looked like they didnt know we where coming. I need to mention, we were the only 3 guest in the whole resort. Check in was a bit bumpy, but we managed. After arrival we were asked for sinner, we only had to choices. Rice and curry, or chicken rice.....there are kayaks and a pedal boats available, but they will charge u 3500rs per person for half broken down kayaks even we it never mentioend anything sbout payment. So we didn't go. We took the pedal boat and were still charged. Nice birds around tho. We saw tucans and pelicans but still with no one around they still charged us upon check out. Food was ok, better go for rice and curry. 2500rs per person😜
Breakfast is chicken on toast eith pineapple, no sauce, no water, just 3, pieces of fruit. Chsrged 1500rs
We had own own ssfari booked so can't say much about their service. Upon check out they try to charge 15usd for the single occupancy even tho i booked 2 double rooms. So overall i wouldnt recommend the place, mot sure why all reviews are rhst positve. Pool was murky, **** laying around everywhere and overall i found the olace 20usd cheaper as we paid, just one day before arrival.

One thing which can make more effective is WhatsApp service. WhatsApp will speed up things. Service was prompt if you have a Srilanka number over phone call.

CChristiansenReally lovely place up the hill from the town. Nice and quiet, and the hosts were amazing. Gave us some delicious spiced tea on arrival and a nice mint tea with breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was also delicious (and a huge portion). The only small issue is if you walk from the train station to the hotel, google takes you on a 15 minute route up a winding steep hill. However, there is actually a direct path from the town to the house (have drawn a simple map in the photo here. Yes, you are actually on the train tracks for a minute or two. If you can’t find it, the host can explain how to find the path back into town so at least you won’t need to take the long way into town at night for dinner and fun

QQiongqiongGood for value. The location is very good, it’s at end of the town, convenient to go hiking and the restaurants. It’s quiet at night. The room is very clean. The owner is friendly. He gave us a pot of tea to welcome us when we arrive. Also he provided us the bus schedule information and advices for the time in Ella.
It will better if there is a kettle so we can try Ceylon tea we bought.
