Facilities in the room were basic but clean. There was a balcony overlooking a small lake which was really lovely with geese and ducks around. The area was well kept with picnic tables and there were lots of dog walkers. Breakfast was available at the services next door but we did not use them. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Sehr gute Lage. Exzellenter Preis als Paar. Da wir unser eigenes Bett für unseren Hund nehmen, dachten wir, dass 15 £ extra jede Nacht ein wenig extrem war, nur um ihn mit uns zu haben.

Just home after the loveliest experience! Just a hop, skip and a jump from Dalscone Farm, (under 30 min safe walk on pavement all the way) which was my destination for several days... and best breakfast ever to start my days! And Hamilton House is a lovely leisurely walk to the River Nith, where I got fish and chips to bring back to my room. Thank you Rena and Derek for making me feel so very welcome... and for putting me in touch with Mark at DumfriesTours who took me on an amazing 5 hr whistlestop tour around the area on my last day, delivering me to the train station to head to Glasgow. Couldn't have been a more wonderful experience to mark my milestone year! love, Cathy from Canada, who'll be back to visit soon! xx PS... oh, and it's so lovely and QUIET... even though I was in a room facing Moffat Rd, I had the best sleep EVER is my wonderful king sized bed with AMPLE squishy pillows...

Im Hotel für seine Nähe zum Hafen Cairnryan wegen einer frühen Abfahrt am nächsten Morgen. Wir hatten ein komfortables Zimmer geeignet für unsere Bedürfnisse, mit großem Platz für die Familie. Es gibt einen Parkplatz an der Website. Wir kamen spät und gingen früh, so konnten wir die Einrichtungen nicht nutzen, aber die Bereiche, die wir gesehen haben, waren gut dargestellt. Sie konnten uns ein Frühstück mit dem Abgang organisieren, da wir vor dem Frühstück serviert waren.

Was für einen tollen Aufenthalt hatten wir hier, tolle Lage, erstaunliches Personal, schönes komfortables Zimmer mit großartiger Aussicht . Das Personal war so hilfreich und konnte nicht mehr tun, um uns so willkommen zu fühlen. Dieses Hotel befindet sich in schönen Gegenden mit schönen Wanderungen. Wir können nicht auf unsere Rückkehr warten

Stayed one night to break up the long journey home from Ireland. I stayed in room 5 overlooking the garden and a lovely church. Coffee making facilities were very good, with nice buiscuits and chocolate mints. I slept with the window open and was not disturbed by any noise. This is an old listed building, and the room looked a little tired, but I was not there long enough for this to really matter. Unfortunately I did not find the bed to be very comfortable, but you can not please every guest, and it is all down to personal preference. Breakfast was included and ordered the night before. A lovely young lady brought my breakfast, which was very good, and set me up for the rest of my journey. Would I stay here again? Certainly.

Vor zehn Jahren blieben wir bei der Glenlossie und es war einer der besten B&Bs, die wir je in Schottland erlebt haben. Ich gab es Top-Marken auf Trip Advisor und das ist eine Seltenheit! Die Besitzer waren freundlich, das Frühstück war großartig und der Ort hatte eine professionelle und geschäftliche Luft. So, denken wir, wir würden uns für ein paar Tage zu D&G gehen wir vor kurzem dachte, wieder zu buchen. Inzwischen wurde der Platz von dem größeren Caledonian Hotel neben der Tür übernommen und ist nun tatsächlich ein Anhang. Es geht nicht darum, dass die ehemalige Umgebung des Gebäudes tot und verschwunden ist. Es gab Schleif im Park und alte Stühle und Junk in der Passage außerhalb unseres Erdgeschoss-Schlafzimmerfensters, die wir nicht lange geöffnet konnten, weil der Zigaretten rauchen aus dem, der weiß, wer obwohl die konstante Husten durch die dünne Wand Wir haben einen in einem Geschäft gekauft. Um fair zu sein, wurde das Zimmer jeden Tag besucht und Kaffee/Tee/Soap etc ausgefüllt (nicht der Plug). Sie bekommen das Gefühl, niemand ist um den Ort ”manage”. Die Vordertür ist immer auf der Snib. Mail über den Porsche unerhoben. Frühstück wird jetzt im großen Haus serviert und das ist es. Das Buffet ist durchschnittlich und der Porridge würde nicht gewinnen Oscar Nominierung noch länger. Es ist eine Schande, weil die jungen Osteuropa-Lasse in der Verantwortung ihre Besten tun. Ich weiß, covid hat den Hotelhandel hart getroffen. Personalmangel sind jetzt ein gemeinsames Merkmal und es ist ein Wunder, dass Orte wie diese überhaupt offen bleiben können. in der Der Fall Caledonianers die Begräbnishandel hält sie weiter, ich versammeln. Glück ihnen. Aber ich denke, die Verwendung des Namens Glenlossie für das geistige Gebäude neben der Tür ist ein wenig absurd und ziemlich traurig in den Umständen.

Yet another fabulous stay here however on this occasion 9 adults and 7 children stayed two nights. This Inn is very convenient for the motorway so it made the ideal place for our family, both sides of the border, to meet here. The rooms were very comfortable the wee extras in the bathroom, including body lotion, are always lovely to use. The available fridge in the room allows fresh milk to be kept and used for tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The jar of coffee tastes so much better than those familiar (bitter in my opinion) sachets of coffee and the tea cakes make a tasty change from the 'usual' biscuits available in some hotels. Breakfast was delicious... choices of cereal, fruit juice and fruit and yogurt as well as a cooked breakfast. I don't know how Alison manages to get so many different meals out together particularly when one wants fried eggs, another scrambled and yet others want bacon well cooked. Alison was not fazed by any of this. There are highchairs too if needed. The sofas around the fire made a great area for us all to sit and natter and play boardgames/cards. There are plenty of games available to keep anyone occupied. We found Alison her usual chatty and helpful host putting everyone at ease and making us all feel welcome. We will not hesitate to stay here again.

Erste Dinge erst .....it's nicht der Ritz, sondern für das, was ich über Agoda gezahlt habe, wahrscheinlich der beste Wert für Geld, den ich für einen Übernachtungsaufenthalt verbrachte.Ich reiste nach Bolton, um ein Auto für meine Frau zu kaufen und brauchte einen Übernachtungsaufenthalt, bevor ich nach Hause ging.Bewertungen Ich habe gelesen, zu sein fair war meist genau ....in Bedarf an etwas TLC aber mein Zimmer war sauber ....I hatte einen tollen und komfortabelen Schlaf .....in dem Morgen, Frühstück war außergewöhnlich ...I wollte nur irgendwo übernachten für einen Ruhe etc ..... gründlich genossen es .... sehr freundlicher Service und Personal.

Das Hotelzimmer ist wie KTV dekoriert. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr weit entfernt, nicht in die Stadt, das ist, dass der Weg zum Hotel zu einem Ausbruch führt. Der Weg zum Hotel ist wirklich nicht gut. Die Servicepersonal des Hotels ist enthusiastisch. Das Frühstück des Hotels ist im Allgemeinen, es gibt im Allgemeinen kein Auto, das nicht empfohlen wird, zu buchen, und es ist teuer und unkomfortabel. Die Freunde sind entschlossen, unverschämt, aber auf dem Weg zum Hotel fühlen sich wie ein Auto in den Wald. Niemand ist auf dem Weg. Es ist alles unsachgemäß, so leicht zu gehen. Das Hotel ist nicht wie ein Schloss, ein bisschen ähnlich. Gut Preis nicht, andere sind gut. Das Hotelzimmer ist wirklich groß genug im Vereinigten Königreich, es gibt auch einen Whirlpool und ein Badezimmer. Aber das Dekorieren ist nicht so groß wie KTV, es sieht etwas schrecklich aus. Die Halle des Tages sieht gut aus und die Hoteltür ist auch gut. Es ist wirklich ein bisschen schrecklich in der Nacht ~

Stayed here for a birthday celebration long weekend with my partner. Freya was a fantastic host and very accommodating and helpful. Ample parking outside the property for cars, and grounds very clean. There was accommodation in a separate building in the grounds which can be stayed in also. Good location, we drove down but a hop, skip and jump from Dumfries train station. 10-15 min walk to town centre, 25 minute walk from Crichton park and 10 minute drive to Dumfries Royal infirmary. Room itself very modern, clean and quiet. Stayed in a double room and it had an en suite toilet and shower - well equipped and shower was fab; great water pressure and never wanted to get out! Bed was comfortable and lovely bedding. Very nice touches in the room for residents: coffee machine with nice Costa capsules, biscuits and equipped with iron and board. Got breakfast as part of our stay and was good quality full breakfast. Was just what we needed to set us up before Parkrun! Freya was very good at suggesting where to visit in the local area and we will be sure to visit again soon, we had a relaxing stay. Would recommend for anyone, staying for a work trip, visiting friends or family or having a break away. Thanks a mill!

In the heart of Robert Burns history is this little piece of history. I would advise you to take the walk around the grounds following the crystal clear lake around to the hermitage where the poet penned some of his famous lines. Previous reviews I read worried about my room being tired in decor but found it well furnished & well kept. Yes the building is old it's a historic place so some floors are uneven etc . There is fishing on the river if that's something you would like to do. Amazing nature around the grounds unspoilt area. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and the food was lovely. Would definitely return, we were booked in Hawthorn with a lake view. The only thing if your a light sleeper is you are above the games room if people are playing pool at night. Also if you need a socket take an extension by bed lead (1 cpap user) .

Easy to find and get on and off the motorway on way up to Scotland. Good rooms , we had a superking which was great with everything you could need plus lovely hospitality tray with tea , coffee and biscuits. Even a jar of chocolates! Bathroom with good shower and toiletries , even toothbrushes and toothpaste in case you forget yours. Easy to walk up for a look at the blacksmiths shop and the outlet village if you want. Good price too especially if you book direct. Dawn was a perfect host, thank you for a great stay.

We arrived on Friday to get married on Saturday, with 25 of us in total. The whole process has been incredibly easy and stress free. Staff have been amazing throughout the whole process from us booking last year to us leaving this morning. Breakfast was brill, as was the food in the restaurant/bar. We opted for salmon and beef for the wedding breakfast and everyone said how beautiful everything was. The bridal suite was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. It also had everything we needed including an iron and ironing board. The grounds are beautiful and we were lucky with the weather, literally cannot wait to get my wedding pictures back. Everyone has throughly enjoyed the weekend and stated what good value the rooms were. So a big thank you to everyone at the Mill, you really have given us the most magical weekend! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a stress free day.

A short 10 minute drive from the motorway, along a scenic drive and you’ll find a magnificent Scottish countryside hotel. A hidden gem. Slightly random parking for 20 or so cars. Very friendly helpful staff. Easy check in. Lovely room with a four poster, in keeping with the hotel. Dinner and breakfast was lovely! I would highly recommend Springkell! I strongly believe in supporting small businesses and the owner and staff are very appreciative of your custom. Simply brilliant, very beautiful and quiet. Great food and friendly staff!! Will be staying again! 😀👏🏻

When you first arrive it's a bit thought provoking to say the least, but go with the flow. The building from the outside was obviously a grand house in it's day but as with all these huge properties they take a lot of looking after. Once inside the owners were really nice and welcoming. The hotel was querky but in a good way and the rooms were clean, large and had a bath with real running hot/ not like warm hot water. Considering it's actually wedged between a motorway and a main line rail service we had a really good night's sleep. Breakfast was a continental style which is perfect for us as there are only so many fried plates you can eat. My only negative was the wifi was not powerful enough to provide service to the room, so it was realitivly peaceful from the endless YouTube rubbish we now seem to watch as UK TV is well pants to be frank. Definitely give this place a try

I was greeted as a returning customer but hadn’t been there for 17years  The staff were very friendly and helpful and polite  The service I received was excellent and the food was excellent that I received  The first room I stayed in was a little bit tired but as it’s a single bed room it was more than acceptable  The second night was a different room as I extended my stay and was a superior single and was more in price but I found it to be excellent  A great hotel with great staff and would recommend a stay if you’re passing through Lockerbie or need a hotel base in the area
