I was a bit disappointed in the room, the table wasn’t near the mirror so I couldn’t sit to put my makeup on and the light was not very good, the only place that was lit well was the bathroom but I can’t stand for very long due to my stroke. The room was very small, we kept hitting our toes on the bottom of the bed which was very painful at one stage I thought I’d broken my little toe, felt like getting a hammer to the bottom of the bed 😡😖 I thought it was just me then my friend did it I know how she felt 😖

Myself and my friend were drawn to the Palace Hotel for its competitive price and location - both of which could not be faulted. Very inexpensive and centrally located in Buxton next to the train station and local shops all within a five minute walk easily. However, without a doubt, you get what you pay for. Whilst the room looked perfectly clean and functional on arrival, both my friend and I awoke after the first night with sore backs. The beds are cheap and unsupportive. The shower is basic and paltry in its water flow. For a one night stay, it’s fine, but don’t expect luxury. The biggest warning we need to issue pertains to the gym. Unless you are a local Buxton male, you won’t feel comfortable here - I couldn’t use one room as there was loud rowdy discussion between men ongoing in a very confined space which made me feel totally unwelcome. I retreated to a different room, also very small and very unclean, with dirt and dust and flakes surrounding the windows and ripped mats on the floor. See photos attached. My friend used the pool which he also described as dirty and he had to take all of his belongings with him into the sauna as the lockers had no locks or keys, rendering them obsolete. The fact that people pay a monthly membership fee to attend this gym is genuinely astounding. Overall, cheap, mildly cheerful, suitable for a night or two basic stay but do not expect luxury from this hotel.

Staff brilliant. Value brilliant. Absolute bargain.  Hot Breakfast was average which was an extra tenner but it had a good selection of cereal, toast, yoghurt. Rooms were basic but in a good way. Everything you need for a cheap stay. Clean. Only small gripe was pillows weren’t the best so next time I’ll bring my own. Some may like the more flat pillows. Thanks IBIS derby.

Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr malerischen Lage im Derbyshire Peak District. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und komfortabel, aber grundlegend. Der einzige negative Punkt, den ich erwähnen möchte, war, dass es kein warmes Wasser für die Dauer meines Aufenthalts gab, aber ich würde das nicht gegen das Hotel halten, da es eine unvorhergesehene Frage war. Ich würde diesen Ort für einen kurzen Aufenthalt entspannende Pause empfehlen. Die örtliche Gegend hat einige sehr freundliche pubs und Restaurants, zusammen mit einigen schönen Spaziergängen.

Wir blieben für eine Nacht für eine besondere Gelegenheit. Als wir ankamen, wurde uns gesagt, dass der Spa für eine Veranstaltung geschlossen wurde, die sehr enttäuschend war, als ich dieses Hotel reservierte, weil der Spa & die Nutzung des Pools & Sauna planen. Das sollte zum Zeitpunkt der Buchung bekannt gegeben werden. Das Gebäude und die Grundstücke waren beeindruckend, aber bei der Ankunft war unser beigefügtes Oberzimmer kalt. Die Rezeption setzte auf unserem Ersuchen die Heizung ein, aber dies hätte tun müssen, bevor wir ankamen, da es 8 Grad draußen war. Wir saßen eine Stunde im Zimmer mit unseren Manteln auf, bevor wir einen tragbaren Heizgerät beantragten, weil die Strahlen nur Lukewarm sind. Das Zimmer war nie wirklich warm & als wir von dem Abendessen bei 9.15 zurück kamen, war die Heizung wieder abgeschaltet und wir mussten es wieder abschaltet. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut und die Server waren schön, aber unorganisiert. Wir wollten im Hotelbar ein Getränk haben, aber es war so kalt, dass es leer und nicht komfortabel zu bleiben war. Ich habe gehört, dass mehr als ein Mitarbeiter über das Kalt im Hotel klagen. Was ein sehr angenehmes Aufenthalt gewesen sein könnte, wurde durch das Kalt vernichtet. Leider werden wir nicht zurückkommen.

Es gibt keinen USB-Anschluss. Ich habe einen ähnlichen gesehen, aber dabei ist mein Ladekabel kaputtgegangen. Nachdem ich es der Rezeptionistin mitgeteilt hatte, fand sie sofort zwei Ladekabel für mich und meinte, sie würde sie mir kostenlos abgeben. Am nächsten Morgen ging ich in einen nahegelegenen Supermarkt, um es zu kaufen, und gab das Ladekabel an der Rezeption zurück. Außerdem war die Steppdecke zu dünn und ich bin mitten in der Nacht wegen der Kälte aufgewacht.

We used to live this hotel since December 2023. This time during our stay the bathroom curtain was very stingy and it’s bad smell spread all over the room. The staff and other facilities are always good. If they take little more care of cleanliness then it would be commendable.

下午3點可辦入住。房間、衞生間面積大，但與房間比窗户小、對面是樓中其他房間的窗户沒有視野，窗户被鎖死無法打開，聯繫前台，説酒店所有窗户都打不開，但因為有換氣設施，住着沒有憋悶的感覺。床舒適乾淨。WiFi速度慢。位置靠近市中心，步行30分鐘到火車站。酒店服務態度差，預付款住3晚，因家中有急事，衹住了兩晚，多次與酒店協商，酒店不給退剩下1晚的預付房費。

Lovely hotel. Clean, tidy, comfortable. Staff were excellent, one & all. Conveniently located with a short walk to the station, the shopping centre, a football ground and other such exciting places as 10 pin bowling, cinemas, axe throwing (highly recommended) and crazy golf for adults only! As a Londoner, I don’t know what I expected of Derby but I’m very glad I made the trip. I have nothing negative to say about the Stewart Hotel, the people of Derby and the fantastic Derby as a whole. Well worth a visit.
