Evening meals available. Buffet slightly expensive if you do not make full use of it. Would I stay here again - yes.

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is 2 min walk to the local train/bus station and 3 min walk to the outdoor shopping area. Good parking. The front staff was welcoming and offered help to any questions I had. The room was great, I slept very well in the bed. The breakfast buffet 😋 excellent. Multiple options for hot and cold meals. All in all, a great stay, will surely come again.

So this is like any other conferencehotel, some of the rooms are quite old, and some of them are nice, you get what you pay for. Conference lunch was just OK, breakfast OK after Norwegian standard, big plus for the waffle iron. The dinner at the pi (3,14) rooftop restaurant was the big plus here. Nice view and fresh air, after a day at the conference. A hour in the spa, was also a nice treat!

I spent a few weeks at Grand in November and December, and I could not be more pleased with my stay. If you are going to visit Gjøvik Grand is the perfect place to stay. It’s a short walk from the rail- and bus station, and once settled in your room you live in the heart of what can be called the “restaurant district” of Gjøvik. The hotel is connected to Egons, but I recommend experiencing the restaurants and cafes close by. Within a few minutes’ walk you can eat Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, Turkish, Indian, and Spanish and Latin food, and the hotel also offers a great evening meal! Grand offers both breakfast and an evening meal included in the stay. Having experienced evening meals in other hotels I did not expect much and I was very pleasantly surprised. The evening meal is a full dinner with usually two options where soup is a constant. The food tastes great. I had the best Boeuf Bourguignon at Grand! It is a clearly a big advantage that the hotel has their own chiefs, since the quality is consistent. In addition there is “fika” with Norwegian waffles every afternoon. They taste good. I was very pleased with my room. Bed was comfortable and big plus with the two armchairs. Great pillows! I also had a very nice bathroom. Housekeeping is not daily for visitors that stay for more than a night, but you inform the front desk when you want to have your room taken care of. The staff is very friendly and I have only good things to say about their service level. There was always a “good morning” and a friendly face. In addition to being close to other restaurants it is also close by the stores downtown and to the shopping centre CC Gjøvik. Before heading to the shopping centre I recommend to see what the individual and independent stores have to offer.

Wir haben das ein Doppelzimmer für eine Woche über Sylvester gebucht. Das Zimmer war klein aber ausreichend, nur der Kleiderschrank hat gefehlt, für eine Woche Aufenthalt sind 3 Fächer einfach zu wenig. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und vielfältig. Das Essen im à la Carte Restaurant war sehr gut.Das Abendessen in Buffetform war nicht so der Brüller. Man sieht im gesamten Hotel ,dass es schon ziemlich alt ist ,man hat allerdings mit einigen Sanierungsarbeiten versucht, das zu kaschieren. Ein negativer Punkt bei unserem Besuch war ,dass die Frühstückszeit um eine Stunde reduziert wurde, auf Nachfrage hat man nur auf die Aushänge verwiesen, nach dem Motto: da stehts doch .Wenn ich allerdings 5 Tage lang eine andere Frühstückszeit habe und diese sich plötzlich ändert, schaue ich nicht auf die Aushängeschilder ob sich irgendwas geändert hat. Alles in allem ein schön gelegenes Hotel mit gutem Frühstück.

Die Umgebung ist warm und das Zimmer ist groß genug. Das Frühstück ist gut. Es gibt Gerätekarten und Pools, die für die Gäste verwendet werden, und das Hotel Huaxia, und die Mitarbeiter der Rezeption sind sehr nett. Es ist sehr gut erlebt.

Das Hotel liegt mitten in Otta und ist gut zu erreichen. Wir waren hier auf der Durchreise und haben uns wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer mit guter Aussicht. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Lage & Umgebung Das Hotel liegt gut erreichbar im Zentrum von Otta. Drum herum gibt es Läden und auch direkt nebenan eine Tankstelle. Für die Durch- und Weiterreise perfekt. Zimmer Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Aussicht zum schönen Fluß, so konnte man nachts noch das Wasser rauschen hören. Die Betten waren gut und es war auch sauber. Alles da was man benötigt. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Service Es gibt den ganzen Tag über Gratis Kaffee in der Lobby was wir als sehr praktisch empfunden. Auch das Personal war sehr freundlich – wir wurden sehr nett in Empfang genommen. Gastronomie Das Frühstücksbuffet ist wirklich klasse – alles ist vorhanden und sehr hübsch präsentiert. So macht Frühstück Spaß. Es gibt sowohl Süßes als auch Herzhaftes. Das Brot war besonders lecker. Daumen hoch für das schöne Frühstück in einem tollen Restaurant-Ambiente.

A very rustic and historic looking hotel in Valdres. The interior and design are very classical, and the interior design is clearly from the original time of construction, giving the hotel a unique look and feel. The check in went easily and the receptionist was easy to deal with and welcoming. Got a free upgrade here as well as they had capacity. Had dinner at the hotel since there are not many restaurants around. The menu is fairly limited, and you should not expect any complex dishes in design or flavour. The dishes are classical and overall well made though, so you will have a filling meal nonetheless. The chocolate fondant for dessert was good but again the dishes are pretty simplistic. The trout for the main course was well prepared, though I would have missed some more complex sides to really elevate the protein. Had a Moscow mule and it was decently good. Though they did not have copper mugs, which is always a minus. They had an okay selection of beer on tap, and I had a Brooklyn lager of that as well to end off the meal. The breakfast hall has a whole rustic old school design to it and seemingly handcrafted chairs and more, which helps to immerse you in the history of this hotel. The superior room was spacious and we even had a balcony, which is quite rare nowadays in hotels. Spacious and clean, so nothing much to complain about there. The classical design of the hotel and look of everything helps make it feel different and a more unique experience and stay than the average modern constructions. A very reasonably good stay in Valdres.

Wir waren schon mehrfach hier im Vandrerhjem/Hotel: mit Kindern, mit Freunden oder als Paar. Jedes Mal waren wir zufrieden. Auch diesmal. Es gibt Familienzimmer oder Doppelzimmer mit Bad. Alles funktional, schick, sauber und modern. Fernsehgerät mit norwegischen und englischsprachigen Sendern. Eine Gemeinschaftsküche ist vorhanden. Kaffee für Gäste ganztägig kostenlos. Es gibt ein Restaurant (Rabatt für Hotelgäste). Das haben wir bisher nicht ausprobiert. Das Frühstück ist prima. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Der Service ist sehr gut. Nettes Personal! Takk for oss!
