AAnonymer BenutzerIt was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay.
The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time.
The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata!
The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub.
Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable!
Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat!
The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back.
Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!

HHanson@Dieses Hotel bietet ein unschlagbares Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis inklusive Frühstück, Abendessen und Getränken. Die Zimmerausstattung ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen und lässt zu wünschen übrig, aber da das Hotel direkt am Biwa-See liegt und die Umgebung toll ist, ist das Zimmer für eine erholsame Nachtruhe nicht so wichtig.

GGastnutzerDas Zimmer war sehr gut. Das öffentliche Essen war ok; das Wasser war nicht so heiß und wie ursprünglich. Frühstücksauswahl war ok, kann besser sein und mehr Auswahl haben als Meeresfrüchte. Abendessen war großartig! Das einzige, was fehlte, ist die Lage. Es gab nichts anderes um das Hotel. 2 Tage Aufenthalt war mehr als genug. Es gab keine anderen Einrichtungen oder Veranstaltungen als ein Bad, Fuß/Handbad, glückliche Stunden.

Food are delicious and nicely decorated
Every day it comes with some free local snacks like financiers and biscuits
One incident that didn't quite went well is early morning after breakfast
As we are rushing to head out before housekeeping and there's no more water in the room, we return to the dinning hall and try to ask the staff to help to fill up some water in their provided water bottle. one lady took over the bottle and head to the kitchen to fill up, but we can hear she's complaining to her colleagues about it.
Shortly, while handing over the bottle, she signal us to leave. We did so but once just stepped out, she simply slams the dinning hall shut! I was surprised by her reaction. It was quite rude of her to do that. If it's against the regulation, they can rightly say so and communicate upfront than doing this repulsive reaction
Overall, a nice stay amid a slight mark on the service rendered

RRoger MichaelOk. Zunächst lassen Sie Ihre Erwartungen zu Hause erwarten Hotel-Level-Service. Sobald Sie das getan haben, wenn Sie einen billigen, aber sauberen Ort zum Aufenthalt wollen, ist das. Dies ist eine Senkan - eine Einrichtung für Jugendorganisationen und Jugendorganisationen, unabhängige Studien und Freizeitaktivitäten durchzuführen, von denen viele Grundunterkünfte haben, aber höhere Klasse als Jugendherbergen. Sie sind überall in Japan. Ich habe im Tatami-Mat-Zimmer auf dem Boden mit gemeinsamen Toiletteneinrichtungen verblieben. Der Bodenboden hat ein großes Gemeindebad - offensichtlich getrennt für Männer und Frauen. Sie haben Lichter um 11 Uhr und die Gäste müssen gleichzeitig zurück. Es gibt eine sehr moderne Kaffee-Website, die günstige Frühstücke serviert (siehe Fotos), aber der Kaffee läuft um 6 Uhr. Es gibt einen Komfortladen 10 Minuten zu Fuß, so empfehle ich Ihnen, Snacks und Getränke auf dem Weg von JR Ishiyama Station zu kaufen. Für das Abendessen gibt es ein Familienrestaurant - gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und gutes Essen - ca. 6 Minuten zu Fuß.
Die Senkan liegt auf einer kleinen Insel durch eine historische Brücke. Die Aussichten auf den Fluss, der in den Hauptsee Biwa fließt, sind entspannend, viele Vogelwild und viele Bäume (der Senkan ist auch eine Wassersportanlage). und die Sonnenauf- und Sonnenuntergang sind schön.
Das Personal ist sehr nett. Es kostet mich ¥5,500 für eine Nacht und ich werde dort wieder bleiben, wenn ich die Gelegenheit habe.

The view was amazing, the open-air private bath was amazing, the service was amazing, the food provided was amazing. There’s even a shuttle bus from the nearby station.
I loved it. My friends loved it. The staff even ran across the whole lobby lounge from the check-in counter, and did a full dive into the souvenir store counter for us. Most memorable icecream buying experience.

hotel room is large and clean. Though the hotel design is kind of conventional old hotel, I would accept that given its price , room size and location.
the best part of the hotel is the view, overlooking the Lake Biwa. If you can manage to wake up early, you are able to see the sunrise from your room.
breakfast is unexpectedly good. Not to mention about the nice lake view from the restaurant, the variety and quality of food is good.
highly recommended for its value for money.

TthewandercuratorNach einer besetzten Kyoto liebe ich die friedliche und ruhige Umgebung dieses schönen Onsen Hotel-ryokan und charmante Burgstadt. Alles über das Hotel spricht von Entspannung und Wohlbefinden. Es ist nur ein 7-8min Spaziergang vom Hikone-Bahnhof, aber es gibt ein Hotelshuttle, das um 9, 10 und 11 Uhr verlässt, wenn Sie eine Absturz brauchen. Die Pick-up könnte wahrscheinlich auch arrangiert werden. Das Hotel bietet eine schöne Außenterrasse mit Schlossblick, ein Spa mit Massage, eine Bibliothekssalon mit kostenlosen Getränken bis 10pm, einen Fußreflexwinkel und eine kompakte Ecke mit Seidebad (alle mit Schlossblick) und heißen Steinbänken. Ich hatte den ganzen Eifer für mich am Abend, so war es sehr entspannend. Das Personal ist auch nett und wunderschön, machte einen Versuch, alle Dienstleistungen und Einrichtungen in Englisch zu erklären. Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch einer der besten, die ich in meinen Reisen nach Japan gesehen habe. Wenn Sie das Schloss besuchen, ist die Einfahrt direkt außerhalb des Hotels. Die Hauptstraße des Schlosses ist ca. 5-10 min entfernt, aber Sie werden durch ein berühmtes japanisches Konfektionswerk, Taneya und Club Harie passieren. Ihre Erinnerungen sind eine, die sogar die japanische Ehrlichkeit. Ich möchte eines Tages wieder mit meinem Partner hierher kommen. Danke für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt.

AAnonymer BenutzerHotel is fancy and clean. Love the Japanese style room and also the hot spring included in the hotel. We check-in late at 8pm and we felt warm welcome by the concierge staff as the staff helped collect our luggage’s and arrange sending them to our room. The check-in staff are inflexible on the late check-out request and she seems only wants to sell the membership account.
It’s a bit hard feeling of the way she tell us a BIG NO if we don’t join the membership for the late check-out.
End up we didn’t request it anymore as we didn’t like been “force” to do so.

LLuke CarlisleBrillantes kleines Hotel, weniger als eine Minute zu Fuß vom JR-Bahnhof entfernt, wo es ein sehr hilfreiches Touristeninformationszentrum und ein Frühstücksbuffet für jeden Gast gibt.
Das Badezimmer war modern, neu und glänzend, mit einer großzügigen Badewanne (für Japan) und die Bettdecke fühlte sich besonders angenehm an. Die Einrichtung ist modern und dezent, aber keineswegs schlicht.
Das Hotel verfügt außerdem über einen kostenlosen Mini-Sento, der mit separaten Einrichtungen für Männer und Frauen kostenlos genutzt werden kann und ebenfalls modern ist.
