Skky Hotel

Not recommended. Jacuzzi suite was terrible, over 1/2 hour to fill and the tub has been repaired so many times it’s ridiculous. Room was so hot even with the fan on and patio open we couldn’t sleep. Pillows were horrible. We travel tons for work and stay all over Canada definitely would not stay here again, have let our crews/site know poor quality hotel there are definitely better in town.

The Skky is the best hotel in Whitehorse! The staff are the friendliest and most helpful that I have ever experienced in the Yukon! The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I have been staying at the Skky since it opened years ago and will always return.

We stayed for one night in an Executive Suite with balcony. The room was clean, spacious and had great amenities including a Nespresso machine and tea station, fridge, fireplace, jetted tub and separate shower stall. The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. It’s an easy walk to breakfast at The Airport Chalet and there is an on-site restaurant in the SKKY hotel which is open later in the day.

We have stayed at the Skky hotel MULTIPLE times. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, the rooms are basic but very clean and the restaurant has amazing food! We always book here when we are travelling the next day because it is directly across from the airport. It is about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown. Here is my only complaint... there is no shuttle or pickup from the airport to the hotel. You can see the hotel from the airport and you could walk if you had no luggage, but it is very inconvenient when you have luggage and the cab drivers will randomly charge different prices. So ask, before you get in the cab - how much?

Great staff very helpful. Clean quiet hotel no complaints at all. Would recommend this location to anyone travelling through Whitehorse. The restaurant was very good. The only issues I had was getting plastic cutlery for my dinner in my room there seemed to be some conflict between the front desk and the restaurant.

I picked this hotel for its proximity to the airport, as I had an early flight out. It is a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal. I had a room on the ground floor, which was pleasant, clean and comfortable; a great place to lay my weary head. Even better, there is an Indian restaurant on the premises so I satisfied my curry craving with a very nice meal.

As wonderful as the reception people were, I just can’t give a very enthusiastic recommendation for this hotel, not least given the amount of money that I paid for the room. I paid the same rate in my last city in the territories and got a newly-built luxury hotel with all of the amenities. The Skky hotel is extremely dated, with the furnishings and style of the 1990’s or earlier. A bit of renovation seems to have been done, but not enough to justify these prices. When I arrived at the room, the temperature that was set by the housekeeping staff was 64 degrees F and I wanted it to be 73. It took 7 hours to get to this temperature! There is a small work desk, but it is too small to give any leg room. The desk lamp has outlets that I could use to power my laptop. However, the outlets were upside down, and so my power supply was not able to be supported since all of the weight is as the bottom. It would just pop out of the outlet. Hence, I had to power my laptop using an outlet next to the bed just so that I could use the computer at the desk. Very inefficient. The wooden desk chairs were very uncomfortable and there was no reading chair to relax in. There was really no comfortable place to sit in this room. I found the pillows much too big and ended up using the towels from the bathroom to make a pillow. The bathroom is very tiny and there is hardly any room to set up toiletries or move around. The parking lot is only partially paved and there aren’t a lot of spots. There is no breakfast here. There is a restaurant that is 5 minutes down the road that you can walk to for breakfast, which will run you about $20, based on what you order. Overall, this hotel was a “miss” for me. I might not have minded the place if I was paying a budget rate, but the hotel is very expensive and is not a good value.

Whenever we visit Whitehorse, which is 3 or 4 times a year, we stay at the Skky Hotel. It is conveniently located with plenty of parking and plug-ins for cold weather. They know when we book our room that I always ask for a fan, and almost every time, it is already in the room. The reception area is always spotless, and the staff is super friendly. Being across from the airport and on the Alaska Highway, it is easy to access for travelers. They also have rain shower showers, which are so nice and refreshing.

Safe, clean, friendly and good prices. I ate at the onsite restaurant and the food was awesome! Whitehorse downtown is getting sketchy and I had my truck broken into at a business by walmart but I feel secure and don’t worry about it at skky. Also downtown hotels seem to have bed bugs but skky is clean and no worries.
