Hotel Kailas

Our cottage was large but dated with very basic bathroom. Room was not cleaned between our two nights. We only saw two cockroaches in our month in India and both of them were in this room! Very good restaurant, nice gardens and superb location.

This is a lovely place situated in a park like area just next to Ellora caves. The room in the huts are very comfortable and nicely designed. The beads are great and there is a nice terrace. The restaurant is the best in the area (although very slow) and the ***agers are very nice. We had a great stay here and stayed some extra days. The only drawback are the ladies who clean the ground from leaves, who cleaned outside our cottage for hours and stared at us, while we tried to rest.

Small but nice place. The entire backyard is empty and you can see the hills and forest. It is just a few 100meters from the entrance to the Ellora caves. I recommend you have Alu partha for breakfast and Chicken curry with Butter nan for dinner.

The primary advantage is the location of this property. Situated at a stone's throw from the main entrance of Ellora Caves it is much beneficial for the travellers who want to explore Ellora from a close proximity. We stayed at Cave facing cottage which was basic but without any problem. The hotel compound will give you the special advantage of having a glimpse of Ellora caves. The hotel restaurant serves tasty foods. Behaviour of the hotel staff is warm and hospitable. Worth mentioning is the reception and dealings of the hotel ***ager Mr. Santosh. He is always ready to help you in any situation. We faced cash problems during the trip which he immediately solved proving cash as we transferred using UPI. You can listen to the chantings coming from Grishneswar Temple, one of the Jyotirlingas located at a walkable distance. It is undoubtedly the best hotel to stay near Ellora.

There are ***y small to medium restaurants near the exit gate of ellora caves.This restaurant is part of a Kailas Hotel and spacious one. Different types of sitting arrangement. Washroom is clean. Food is not costly as per the ambience of the restaurant.Do try vati curd which is very refreshing after a hectic tour of caves. Nice hotel just beside Ellora caves. Cave facing rooms are good. Service is outstanding. Food is tasty. Geyser was not working, however hot water bucket was supplied. ***ager is helpful. View of sunset from hotel lawn is memorable.

Enjoyed the stay with family because it located very near to Ellora and easy walk to Grushneshwar ***dir. Stayed in Family Room 17 and 18. 17 had garden view. Pros: Bed and Linen were clean and basic toiletries were also provided. AC and geyser were functioning. Cons: Intercom can be provided. Toilet walls can be cleaned better and an exhaust in bathroom can be good addition.

Hotel is good Rooms are good . We selected cave facing cottages and paid some thing more . But there is no use. Caves are far away and you can not gate view. There is no intercom or call bell in room . Thus can not contact reception or doom service. For any thing you need to walk about 50 Mtrs and then place order. Food is good but costly. In a room you may find insects . Little more cleanliness of washrooms are expected.

Enjoyed our stay here, the room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate at their restaurant and the food was always good. The location was very good, you can see the caves from the property and it was only a short walk to the main entrance
