Oldwell Hotel

I had stayed at Oldwell hotel a few years back with my daughter. My daughter was so impressed she is planning on spending her Honeymoon there next year. She loved it so much that I brought my sister back. She said was best part of the trip. We plan to go back. We will request Suite Mare. Rooms, views, staff were amazing! Thank You for giving my Sister a memorable experience.

Love this hotel, staff is amazing. Beach is awesome and options for dinner or lunch and snacks are great. We loved our stay here and will be back again soon.

This place is Paradise personified. It's known locally as the hidden gem, having experienced it first hand, I must whole heartedly agree. The beach, the views, the colour of the sea and the soft texture of the sand are what you would only expect to find in the Caribbean. Simone, couldn't have done any more to ensure that our visit was extremely memorable. Although our visit was only short, it is one that will remain in the forefront of our minds and we look forward to our return.

Many dream of having the sea at their bedside.. at the Oldwell your dreams come true... mine did !! The Restaurant, placed on the terrace just above the beautiful beach gives you a sense of being on the water...and the sunset is just spectacular. Excellet Dining experience !! Jenny, owner and host, is just sensational in making sure your ever comfort is met !!

First, the hotel. It is in a beautiful position on the beach. The place is very attractive. Rooms are simple but in the main comfortable, apart from the bed in one of the rooms which was not. The beach is nice- although personally I think the public end is better in terms of the sand and angle into the sea. The food is adequate but nothing special, and much more expensive than the exquisite and much cheaper fayre in Tropea. Breakfast was mediocre and limited. The staff were charming and helpful. I would, on the basis of the above, have given four stars. My decision to give two is based on the customer service I received, I needed to leave early due to my mother’s mobility issues. This was not the hotel’s fault. I wad told, on the basis of alleged contact with management, that I would be refunded 30 % of the total bill. If left after one night of the total five nights paid for. The booking was non- refundable, so I was very appreciative of this. On the basis of this commitment, I booked another hotel. When I went to pay the bill on early check out, I noticed that it was 100 % of the total, not the 70% promised. I was told that the earlier commitment had been due to a “mistake”. I would have respected a decision from the start to keep all of the money, as this was within the proprietor’s rights in line with the nin/ refundable booking policy. It also would have allowed me to make an informed decision of whether to leave early and lose all of the money. My irritation is with the practice of committing to take 70% and then talking 100 % with no notice. The extra revenue raised from me is in my view lost to the cost of the hotel’s integrity. It’s a shame- I would have recommended and / or gone back. .

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, framed by cliffs. The sea is crystal clear, and the beach itself lovely. The rooms are comfortable and ideal for a beach stay. Some reviews are critical of the rooms- I am often left baffled by what people expect. The staff were lovely, and very understanding when we had to leave earlier than we wanted to. I will return. Recommended.

Piccolo hotel in una splendida baia con mare cristallino gestito da personale attento e competente, la sera si ammirano dei tramonti stupendi seduti al bar gustando ottimi cocktail o cenando in terrazza in riva al mare. Pesce fresco in arrivo tutti i giorni cucinato anche piacere. La spiaggia davanti l’hotel è attrezzata e ben servita

Veniamo a Oldwell Hotel da 5 anni, ormai il personale fa parte della nostra famiglia. Ci fanno sentire tutte le volte come se stessimo a casa nostra. Personale sempre cordiale, pulizia giornaliera eccezionale, un mare infinitamente turchese con un panorama fantastico che vede calare il sole dietro lo scoglio a passo di nuoto dall’hotel a cui vengono fatte escursioni giornaliere da Tropea. Come posizione dista solo 2 chilometri da Tropea, facilmente raggiungibile a piedi. Un grazie di cuore ai cordialissimi Sig.ra Jenny, il Professore, Virginia e Roberto. Arrivederci a presto.
