I haven't had much experience at all in backpackers but I was impressed with the Civic Guesthouse. The staff have mostly been very friendly, accomodating and helpful, and the general atmosphere really positive and safe which is awesome. They have a good cleaning routine so the place is in good condition and maintained really well. It's in a great location and has all the amenities/facilities you need. Noise management is handled really well with a nighttime quiet rule. One negative comment I will make is that there is not really a system at all for recyclable items. There is just one bin for recyclables such as drinks cans but aside from that all waste goes into the general bins/landfill and this is pretty soul-crushing since there are so many people coming and going and therefore so much waste disposed of in this way. It would be great to have an improved system for this to sort waste and educate people in the process to be aware of where they are getting rid of their waste. Otherwise, thank you Civic for a great backpacking experience!

We stayed for 7 nights. When booking the receptionist helped us book a room that was quiet, private and had a view. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is on top of a small hill close to the start of the 'goat track' up Castle Hill, and a 15 minute walk to the CBD in one direction, the Strand in another, and about 20 minutes to the ferry terminals. There is free parking on site.

Initially sent to the wrong room but the desk staff sorted it. The views are great of either the ocean or marina. We had an ocean view , also overlooked the pool. The place is actually quiet considering its also a ****** and popular restaurants. The staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights and can recommend this hotel for a couple or family stay. It's close to the strand and easy walking to lots of cafes , restaurants and the beach side walk.

Good location, friendly at reception, clean room and comfortable bed. Just a bit tired regarding the room itself and t.v stations some worked some didn't and they went on and off, but not that big of a deal. A bit noisy around the area but I still slept well.

The staff at Rambutan are very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome. The rooftop, poolside restaurant is fantastic with its excellent and varied selection of dishes and is so popular with the public that I found it necessary to book my favourite table on the balcony looking over the town. The wonderful staff members speak many languages. Flying up solo from the Victorian winter I was dismayed to find myself in a cramped room, looking onto a blank wall, so dark I needed the light on. I had probably ticked 'accessible' which meant all the rooms reached by the lift which all face the blank wall around the pool. I expressed my disappointment to reception and was immediately and gratefully moved to a room, up a flight of stairs but looking down onto the pool and restaurant, as pictured. The rooms are small, filled up with enormous beds so that there is no way to unpack a suitcase. I needed a comfy chair. Rambutan is well within walking distance of the passenger ferry, The Strand, Anzac Park, and the centre of the city, surrounded by restaurants, and just 2 blocks from all the shops.

From previous reviews I thought no way, well how wrong was I. Great location. Clean and large. Amazing staff. Great whistle stop for us. Our four legged mate was very welcomed. Ground floor unit. Even meet a gentleman who travels with his galah on business. Staff welcomed us both with open arms. Pool is fabulous. Price reflects older establishment but they are caring for this old girl. We would definitely stay again. Only downside was the mattresses probably need replacing but are still very comfortable, had a great sleep. Thank you Robert Town 👌👌👌

Das Doppelbettzimmer war die günstigste Option, obwohl wir als Paar reisen, aber die Einrichtungen waren sauber, das Personal außergewöhnlich freundlich und Service 24 Stunden.

Wir blieben hier während einer Familienreise für 5 Nächte. Der Aufzug im Autopark war nicht die ganze Zeit dort. Die Wohnung war schmutzig, die Couch war in Farben bedeckt, der Teppich war schmutzig und brauchte Ersatz. Alle Oberflächen in der Wohnung wurden in Staub gekackt. Die Dusche in einem der Badezimmer wurde gebrochen, wir berichteten das und wurde jemandem gesagt, dass sie sich aufrecht schauen würde, niemand kam je. Wir brauchten zwei Einzelbetten in einem Zimmer und mussten mehrere Male anrufen, um das zu bestätigen, auf der ersten Anruf wurde uns gesagt, dass sie nicht Zeit haben zu gehen und zu prüfen, die zweite Anruf wurde uns gesagt, dass es war und als wir gerufen wurden, um das letzte Mal zu bestätigen, dass wir es gesagt wurden Es gab eigentlich nicht und dass wir ein gefaltetes Bett organisieren müssen, um von einem externen Unternehmen zu bringen. Es gab Pubs im Gefrierschrank, leere weiche Trinkflaschen im Kupfer. Keine Mantelhänger, um Ihre Kleidung aufhängen. Keine Reinigungsmittel in der Wohnung. Wir mussten eine Waschmittel-Flüssigkeit beantragen, damit wir unsere Gerichte machen konnten. Die Dusche/Badegel in den Badezimmern war so dünn, dass es scheint, als hätte jemand die Flaschen gerade mit Wasser gefüllt. Verschwenden Sie Ihr Geld nicht, indem Sie sich stören, hier zu bleiben.

Verwirrt zu checken. Rezeption ist in einem anderen Hotel. Es wäre irritierend, wenn Sie kein Auto und mussten Spaziergänge mit Gepäck. Modernes Komplex. Mit einigen Essensoptionen und einem Kinoskomplex. Kurz zum Stadtzentrum. Sehr kleines Zimmer. Nur ein Bett, kein Platz für einen Stuhl außer dem kleinen Tischstuhl unter dem Tisch. Der erste Eindruck, als ich die Tür öffnete, war der übertriebene Geruch von Zigaretten. Dies ist eine nicht rauchende Einrichtung, aber offensichtlich nicht durchgesetzt. Tabak wird auf Gürteln gefärbt und auf Teppichen verbrannt. Kein Abfall. Trotzdem ist das Zimmer sehr sauber. Dann ein Bad von einer guten Größe, aber kein warmes Wasser! Einfrieren Dusche zu Beginn meines Tages - zumindest erweckte mich trotz gewaltsam. Die Türen von der angrenzenden Zimmer schlägt laut und ist erstaunlich. Rezeption, in einem anderen Hotel, geschlossen im Checkout so unfähig, Feedback zu Rauch und kaltes Wasser zu geben. Keinig gepreist - und Sie erhalten, was Sie zahlen. Bessere Optionen in der Nähe - und sie haben sogar heißes Wasser. Liebe Kaffee für leichtes Frühstück im Park.
