Amazing staff very helpful and went above and beyond hotel lovely breakfast great no complaints here we will be coming back

Our room was very huge, bathroom was very big. Everywhere was clean, a lots of towels. Minus swimming pool and and jacuzzi was old but we were happy because we was there alone 😀 till 9pm.

The Hotel is quite impressive, it is large, has an indoor and outdoor pool, a small fitness room and a bar area open till around 2 am.
Parking is free around the back, a bit tight and limited but welcomed!
Parking in the front is around £10 a night.
Staff are friendly and helpful and always at hand.
Changed our room due to noise immediately and apologised with no fuss!
Seemed to be child friendly too with a nice play area at the rear.
Located 15 minute walk or a 2 minute drive into Torquay and a 4-5 minute walk to the seafront, perfectly located, though rooms on the road side may be a bit loud for light sleepers.
The rooms are nice, the showers are adequate and need updating, like the bathrooms.
The whole hotel could probably do with a lick of paint, but doesnt affect stay!

Booked into the Abbey Sands with wife and baby, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Thanks to Tom and Faye who helped with provision of Cot and drinks. Nice indoor and outdoor pool with garden and outdoor space for drinks. 5 minute walk to beach and 15 minutes along prom to main quay.

We feel misled by the website stating that they had onsite parking. We had to park in a paid lot a block away. Also, the outdoor pool was closed due to a wedding taking place at the hotel. Everyone working at the hotel was focused on that event. Lastly, no dinner service due to lack of staffing. On a positive note, the room was spacious and well appointed. Very comfortable. And the valet was very helpful in assisting with bags.

Amazing staff, and knowledgeable, top location. Although paid for parking, there was also free onsite parking. Outdoor pool was closed for maintenance, but indoor one was available and we had a dip. hotel didn't serve evening meals, but staff happy to recommend a good takeaway and nearby places to eat .... with a smile. reasonable VFM. Very near to beach and big park with crazy golf which was fun.

You really cannot fault this hotel. We booked last minute to extend our holiday that we'd been having in Kingswear as we wanted to check out Torquay. There was just a bog standard family room available over looking the carpark for 1 night. It was just the job. Huge in size. A double, single plus a bunkbed, and a table with 4 chairs. Yes the room was traditional/old fashioned style but in keeping with the age/style of hotel and immaculate. The bathroom was bright, spacious and clean. It was quiet - no road noise etc. The communal areas in the hotel are great. The outdoor pool, picnic tables on the lawn, lovely bar with terrace etc all make it a great place to stay. For what we paid it was an absolute steal. The staff all super fridndly and smiley - great location.......we'd definitely book up for a few days in future.
