7.5/10 Location: Outside of “central” Athens but easily connected by metro & buses. Kifisia is gorgeous, safe, filled with high end boutiques, restaurants + cafes. Room/Ambience: Hotel itself is stunning + very relaxing vibe. Decor details incredible as expected of a boutique hotel of this nature.  Food: Very good selection of hot + cold, plus actual barista coffee. Do not expect American style breakfast - this is Europe after all. We did not eat lunch or dinner but the menus looked great and was filled with locals in the evening. Service: Although reception staff were sufficiently friendly, service very lacking for a high end boutique hotel. It was 26 degrees celsius every day while in Athens. Not prior to our stay, nor during check-in did anyone advise us that the pool was closed likely until end of May. This is not advertised on any booking platform, or on the hotel website, which was very disappointing. We sat in the pool lounge chairs for over two hours (staff saw us as the restaurant is immediately adjacent). Nobody offered us pool towels to lie on, or if we wanted to order any drinks or food. My partner had to get dressed, go to reception and ask. They didn’t even offer to clean the pool given the hot weather made it ready for use. It really put a downer on our stay, and why we opted not to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. Similar experience at breakfast; nobody offered us coffee orders, we heard someone else order and realised it was available.

From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed — the team struck that ideal balance of professionalism and warmth, and we immediately sensed we were in an LGBTQ‑friendly space where we could fully relax. The design of the hotel is stunning: modern, stylish, and thoughtfully curated without ever feeling pretentious. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for such a central location. Waking up to views of Athens and stepping out into the city within minutes made our long weekend feel effortless. The staff were always ready with recommendations, from local restaurants to nightlife, and every suggestion hit the mark. Whether we were enjoying a drink in the lounge or returning late after exploring the city, we always felt at home. It’s rare to find a hotel that blends style, comfort, and inclusivity so naturally. We left already talking about when we’d return. If you’re a couple looking for a chic, welcoming base in Athens, Ocupa Hotel is an absolute gem.

This place is quite unusual. My room was upgraded so that I had a suite over two floors, with a small private pool on another lower level. Absolutely every convenience had been considered, some extras might verge on overkill (bog roll tied up with a ribbon for example). The room looked amazing on first inspection, but I quite quickly realised the smell of the pool was so strong it stung my eyes, and the sound of the ventilation unit was quite a roar. There was only one small openable window on the mezzanine level next to the bed and I had to sleep with that open as wide as possible. Bed was extremely comfortable, I had to turn off the pool ventilator unit in the middle of the night because it kept waking me up, but once I had done that and the smell of baking bread entered the room from a bakery down the road I slept like a log. Staff were really nice and friendly, but they are working with quite difficult circumstances and perhaps unnecessarily. The kitchen is on the bottom floor and breakfast is served on the 5th floor roof (from which you can see the Parthenon) breakfast is a little awkward as you get a huge wicker basket 🧺 full of food plus crepes, plus omelette, plus tuna sandwich, a whole baguette (some more little ribbons), and I am not sure anyone can eat as much as is provided, and the server had to keep travelling up and down in the one person elevator. Probably would be better to ask guests what they would like to have for breakfast out of the options available and have a coffee/tea station upstairs. There is the option to take lunch in your room - for which the picnic basket concept makes a lot more sense. Seems like there should be a way to make the place feel more efficient and common sensible. I did get the feeling that they might have only just opened and are finding their feet, so I hope this review will be useful - certainly was a generous accommodation and staff are working very hard to make sure guests have the best possible experience.

Quite modern entrance hall and room (bathroom for disabled was not our choice). Reception friendly and provided good recommendation for late dinner. The first morning I woke up by very loud cleaning personnel. Walls are paper thin and door not soundproof. You hear everything. Breakfast terrace with nice view. Pool terrace too small and only available for some hours if slot pre-booked. Music, food and shisha on the rooftop club/restaurant quite okay.

Das Hotel hat eine fantastische Lage; man sieht das Meer direkt gegenüber. Links vom Hoteleingang befindet sich ein Supermarkt. Am Meer gibt es zwei bis drei Restaurants; die Preise sind angemessen und das Essen recht gut. Die Hotelzimmer sind allerdings zu klein und die Betten sind nicht besonders sauber – vor allem die Laken! Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung und wird bis 10 Uhr im Erdgeschoss serviert. Die Zimmer sind schlechter als in manchen Ji Hotels in China, und der Check-out ist schon vor 11 Uhr! Mir fehlen die Worte. Der größte Vorteil dieses Hotels ist seine exzellente Lage.

Das Zimmer ist sehr sauber und wurde gerade renoviert. Die Bar im Obergeschoss bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Stadt Athen. Der Service ist sehr gut! Und es liegt ganz in der Nähe der U-Bahn und des Busbahnhofs, so dass man sehr bequem überall hingehen kann.

Wir verbrachten hier einen kurzen Städtetrip und fanden das Hotel einfach, aber sauber – für den Preis konnten wir uns wirklich nicht beschweren. Das Highlight waren definitiv der Poolbereich und die Dachbar, die sich perfekt zum Entspannen am Nachmittag nach einem Sightseeing-Vormittag eigneten. Die Umgebung war nicht die malerischste, aber das schien für Athen recht typisch zu sein, bis man die touristischeren Teile nahe der Akropolis erreichte. Trotzdem fühlte ich mich zu Fuß immer sicher. Die Hauptattraktionen waren etwa 30 Gehminuten oder eine Uber-Fahrt für 5 £ entfernt. Es gab eine U-Bahn-Station in der Nähe, die wir aber letztendlich nicht genutzt haben. Insgesamt eine solide, preisgünstige Option mit toller Aussicht vom Dach und entspannter Atmosphäre.

I booked a single room and it was larger than expected and the bathroom had a bath. I was on the 9th floor. The room had a city view which was unexpected. There was air conditioning, a kettle a fridge and plenty of space for luggage. There was no coffee available only T. So I bought my own. There was a range of shower wash and body cream. The soap was olive oil soap and very nice. The water in the fridge was not complimentary and I had to pay for it when I checked out. I didn’t book breakfast. It was quite noisy at times on Floor 9 with screaming children and young men congregating chatting and being loud. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well in it. The plug sockets were not near the bed. The pool at the top was brilliant but it was very busy. The views were spectacular and the food in the bar was very good. The staff in the bar were very kind. The hotel is very well situated near train stations but walking is much more interesting! There are some great shops and markets in the area and museums are not far away. It takes about 20 mins to walk into the centre if you enjoy your walk. I recommend junk shops on the walk to the Acropolis.

The hotel was sleek. I like the minimalist style of the hotel. Looks very new. The receptions area was bright and shiny. Classy. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant and a swimming pool (do not know if you can swim in the summer). It is not that big. From the rooftop you can see the parthenon. It was nice! The staff there are friendly and helpful. The food is okay and drinks were good though hotel price as we all know, is pricey. The room was spacious enough but they had no telephone to use to call the receptions if ever you need anything. However, I like that they had a nespresso. The location though is not that near to Plaka and Acropolis. It’s almost more than a kilometer away but it’s a straight line. If you are a walker, that would be a good warm up. They could call you a cab any time and they had all the information that we needed. Downside: Elevator was slow and noise from the hallway and the road could easily be heard. Wish they would do something to make the rooms sound proof.

Absolutely loved my time in this hotel! Had a great time, amazing poo, incredible roof top restaurant, the most iconic view possible ever in all of Athens with a beautiful setting!! Could not have asked for more!! totally loved it would definitely come back :) Also loved the set out, all of the marble, the foyer and the staff were amazing to me and the restaurant team really did a lot to look after me and my dietary sensitivities!! Mega love to all who looked after me and massive massive thanks!!
