Pier House

Didn't stay at this hostelry but had a great impromptu supper. Overlooks the harbour and is a lovely place that locals use. Our evening started rather stressful with having at short notice to find a place to stay for two nights. Rowena came to our rescue and went above and beyond her remit and sorted us out a room with the Raishley Inn for the two nights. She was an absolute diamond and we can never thank her enough.

Great lunch of local fish and scampi. Staff really lovely . Operating under difficult circumstances after their fire in January . Locals use this pub do we knew it would be good. Lovely section outside in the sun overlooking a fabulous harbour,

Wonderful evening, street food was excellent, staff were really helpful and the evening was complete by the impromptu singing from the travelling Elderberries absolutely brilliant, a great night was had by all.

Although this has been done up after a fire so everything is new, it is missing something. It is bland. The decor and tables reminded me of a Travel Lodge and the lights were turned on full in the evening. It felt as if they were catering to the masses. It’s fine but nothing special other than the location when the sun is out and you can sit outside.

Hi everyone.! We arrived slightly later than our usual time as Marvin and myself are regular visitors to the Pier House after checking in and a quick chill out after the drive from our home in Lytham st Annes, we met up with a few of my friends & locals in the Harbour side..! It was my birthday on Friday 20th January hence the visit to celebrate in my favourite place in the country, I was happily sipping my first Gin & tonic when the fire alarm was sounded.(6.30/7.00pm,ish) at first the response was oh! It’s a false alarm..! But no it isn’t there was a considerable blaze gathering momentum at the rear of the building, as a ex oilfield worker and fire team leader part of the drilling team on board oil rigs all over the world I knew only to well the present danger could cause..! Outside now was the shout..! I’m sure you’re aware of how the rest of the evening panned out.! I myself would like to express the professionalism and calmness of your emergency response team especially Helen the Area Manager, all souls,staff & residents alike were accounted for safety first. Residents where relocated to the Rashleigh Arms alls well that ends well, Good luck with the rebuilding and repairs Marvin & me will be back ASAP..! Many thanks for an eventful birthday weekend.! Visited this pub numerous times over the years. Great location next to the harbour with sea views but they don’t accept cash now so we won’t be returning again any time soon.Shame but it’s the principle.

We stopped here last year (before the fire) and wanted to rebook but due to renovation work this wasn’t possible. The food was excellent along with the friendly staff. A beautiful place just for a drink right on the harbour. Would definitely recommend.

Great food - love the menu variation, super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the best views of the harbour a great place to enjoy drinks with friends in the sun! A must go to place if visiting Charlestown!

I visited the Pier Inn almost a year to the day with my partner Dawn and was met with kind hospitality at the bar by the fabulous Jenny who served us two fantastic pints of cool Cornish ale and cider. The setting is second to none particularly on the hot sunny day that it was when we visited. A very memorable visit and one we hope to make again sometime soon, only pity is that it's over 400 miles away from home. Big thanks to Jenny and the Inn for being so damned cool!
