The Caribbean on the edge of the Mediterranean When you first arrive at the Regency Hotel in the suburb of Gammarth near the capital Tunis, you pass through the reception hall and a carefully-arranged garden that reminds you of the unique atmosphere of the Caribbean. Then, you walk along wooden corridors to discover a setting that looks like a forgotten piece of paradise: Here lies the Sanremo swimming pool, the restaurant and the disco, bordering a sandy beach that tempts the visitor to dive and swim in the warm waters. A large number of hospitality workers make their best to transform the hours you spend at Sanremo into an unforgettable experience, offering a variety of cocktails, iced drinks, appetizers and different seafood meals, including sea urchin and lobster. The atmosphere, marked by joyfulness and carefully-selected music, can be enjoyed at every hour of the day. And as the sun sets, one can share the dance floor with hand-picked guests. We rate our experience at Sanremo, 9 points out of 10. However, the only thing that can challenge this Mediterranean-Caribbean dream is the heavy presence of the constantly grumpy manager, who acts more like a doorman than a host. Our advice: please try to avoid him.
