Das Hilton Scranton ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber die Zimmer sind soweit Sauber. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, wir sind für 1 Nacht dort gewesen und hatten ein Zimmer im 6. Stock, was auch sehr ruhig war. Das Frühstück ist typisch für Hilton und auch sehr lecker, empfehlenswert sind vor allem die Omelette. Der pub unten in der Lobby war ebenfalls ganz gut, leckeres Essen zu adäquaten Preisen. Falls ich mal wieder in der Gegend bin, würde ich wieder dort übernachten.

Room was booked as part of a travel package for a music event at the mountain. Check-in was 3pm, event’s doors open at 4, you would think they would anticipate a lot of people descending on the property at the same time. Many of the rooms were not ready at 3, leaving a large group of travelers stuck in a warm lobby or in line out the door in the hot sun. Instead of bringing out pitchers of water, or some token of appreciation for the wait, the woman at the desk just attempted to avoid eye contact with everyone. When we it was our turn to check in, the clerk told us that the room was not ready, it would be about 15 minutes, to sit off to the side and she will call us over as soon as it’s ready so we don’t have to go through the line again. After about 20 minutes, my husband checked with her and she replied “Oh, yeah, it’s ready.” Who knows how long we would have sat there if he didn’t check back? They only had enough keys to give out 1 per room. The electronic key through the app does not work at this facility. The key stopped working, and when we went down, the woman in front of him had a disabled key too. The alternative side entrance next to the elevator broke down, so everyone had to go around through the lobby. I wonder if that’s a fire code violation in case of a need to evacuate? The restaurant is closed, and the “continental breakfast” is a rolling cart full of gas station-style faire. The room was not clean. It did not look vacuumed. There were strangers finger prints all over the ice bucket lid. There was black mold and obvious water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom, likely due to no exhaust fan. We started with an empty roll of toilet paper, facial tissue box was out too. There was a little dorm fridge on the floor right in the middle of the path to the bathroom, we moved it right away because it was surely something we would fall over getting up in the night to use the bathroom. There was a letter telling us they are not performing housekeeping during our stay because of Covid and to leave trash and dirty linens outside the door and to call the desk to request more. I have stayed many nights at hotels in the same price range for concerts and my kids travel team sports. I don’t expect a ton, but this place can do much better.

Das ist nicht meine normale Wahl für Hotels, da ich oft lieber “Hilton”. Mein Vater ist ein Mitglied des Fairfield Inn (Marriott) und er hat uns das Zimmer kostenlos mit seinen Punkten erhalten. Die Eincheckung war einfach, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher, warum meine 86-jährige Mutter in der Gesetzgebung ihre Kreditkarte für mögliche Zimmerschäden vorzulegen, wenn es bereits eine Karte auf der Datei für sie und ihren Ehemanns Konto war. Das Zimmer war sauber und meine Mutter in der Gesetzgebung bestand darauf, dass es das neue “Fairfield” look war. Das Badezimmer hatte Seifenversorger, die ich bei der Waschung nicht benutzen möchte, aber ich verstehe, warum einige Hotelmarken sie verwenden. Das Frühstück war kostenlos (ein paar heiße Optionen mit nicht heißen Optionen). Das Frühstückszimmer war sehr klein und schwer zu bewegen... Tische wurden eingeklemmt. Ich habe nicht an dem Essen teilgenommen, aber meine Mutter hatte keine Beschwerden im Gesetz. Kaffee war gut. Die Auscheckung war einfach und alle Mitarbeiter waren freundlich. Unsicher, wenn ich zurückkehre.

Wir brauchten einen Ort, um auf unserem Weg nach NYC zu schlafen. Dieses Hotel war direkt von I81 und wir haben immer gute Erfahrungen mit Hampton Inn. Das komplimentäre Frühstück ist immer schön. Die Hilton-App ermöglichte uns nach 10 Uhr direkt in unser Zimmer zu gehen und es über Bluetooth zu öffnen. Slick.

Derzeit im Days Inn bleiben. Sehr erschwinglich. Pool ist warm. Heiße Rohr ist HOT. Zimmer ist ausreichend. Bett sind weich. Ansichten sind schön. Anfrage ein Bergblickzimmer, wenn möglich. Die Skyline in der Nacht ist eigentlich sehr schön. Ich wünsche, dass ich binokuläre gegeben habe. Basic cable. Wifi ist stark. Frühstück ist grab-and-go. Vorverpackte Sachen. Nicht viel Sitz. Sie werden derzeit auch renoviert. Die Lobby-Resträume waren unter Wartung. Das Hausbetreuungspersonal ist hilfreich, aber Sie müssen sie vor 3 Uhr fangen.
