Senda Watapuy

Senda Watupuy did not disappoint. It had a very cool luxury in the jungle vibe - beautifully appointed lobby, amazing pool and cool hut like room. The service was great. I was nervous because we arrived late at night and no one was answering the phone but once we got there, there was an employee there to get us, show us around and give us any information we required. I would definitely recommend.

Senda Watapuy exceeded our expectations in every respect: expansive, clean, rooms; excellent meals in beautiful dining areas; competent, friendly and very helpful staff; amazing views of the surrounding mountains and forest; lovely swimming pools. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was delicious every time! The room was huge with a private mini-pool cleaned every morning. Wifi was good in the lobby areas and in the room. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly all the time. The property is excellent for birding--quiet with lovely gardens and undeveloped spaces away from the buildings. The riverside also provides a chance for other water birds. Finally, there is a short but steep trail up the mountain across the river to a mirador through some forest as well. Senda Watapuy is luxury accommodations at a bargain! Wow, we will go back to this property again!

Beautiful, peaceful boutique hotel in a semi jungle setting, yet only 15 min walk to Tayrona NP. Photos are very accurate. Large individual thatched cabanas with private deck, loungers and dipping pool. Big bathroom with twin sinks and walk in shower. Very comfy bed. Fan and air con. Gorgeous pool and grounds with a river running along the bottom you can swim in. Very good food. Excellent massage service. However, service and organisation needs some attention for me to give a 5 star rating. Menus and services such as spa or taxi/excursions are accessed via an app which is all in English, yet none of the staff speak English! This causes confusion and is somewhat frustrating in communication terms when nearly all the guests are European or American. The app also doesn't work well. So, for example, the taxi we booked, although confirmed on the app, wasn't actually ordered for us. Ditto a spa trea**ent I requested. There also appear to be too many staff, so they don't have enough to do, which means they pass their time chatting and are not especially attentive when you do want service. We also had a few other little ******* like no welcome drink on arrival or even bottle of water in the room after a long journey; no white wine available by the glass until our last night, despite the fact we could order at the sister hotel next door; hot and cold taps to the washbasin when only cold water available; shower that was either boiling or freezing and inconsiderate use of sprinklers to water the grounds which meant we had to get wet a number of times to access our room. If some if not all of these issues could be rectified, I would give a five star rating because it is a gorgeous place.

This was a dreamy hotel. When you pull up to the reception, there is a stunning review of the mountains. The staff was very friendly and helped with my bags to my cabana. The main pool was fun to swim in and I also enjoyed the mini pool at my cabana. The cabana was clean and spacious and had great bath products in the shower (though suprisingly they didn't have lotion). The breakfast was delicious and I had the best arepa de huevo of my entire trip at Senda Watapuy. The grounds are gorgeous and you can hear the river, birds and bugs at night. I got a massage, which was fantastic in an open air cabana at the hotel, looking out over the river. A real treat to go to Senda Watapuy!

We have stayed here as a family (2 adults, 2 children under 8) and as a couple, and it was perfection both times. The staff are incredibly friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, the pool is stunning, and waking up to nothing but the sound of the river and birds was complete bliss. It’s extremely close to the entrance of Parque Tayrona, and a short drive to waterfalls. I have recommended this hotel to anyone who will listen. It is by far my favourite hotel in Colombia.

This hotel is unable to refund me in a timely manner after a proper cancellation. I assume they are honorable people but their explanations are not very clear. Even with clear explanations, it is unreasonable to delay a refund for so long. I hope they are able to improve in time but beware.

A little bit of paradise- nature, luxury, a river and top notch gourmet food. Not sure what was the highlight, from the infinity pool as walk in the lobby to the impeccable rooms with outdoor dipping pool in the midst of jungle, it was like paradise. The staff was incredibly attentive and non intrusive- no one hovering over you, yet ready to get what you need! We actually used their app to get room service and it was great (more so because the lobby is far from the rooms). The food!! Breakfast is included and it’s huge and delicious! Order the mixed fruit and don’t miss out on the Colombian delicacies (cayeye and arepa) or the outstanding pancakes! Lunch and dinner are not included, but prices are fair (to cheap) for gourmet level cuisine. Don’t miss out on the Caribbean stew, any salad, burger or the churrasco (we got the truffle and the chimichurri and both were outstanding) - just fyi, the meat is not ultra soft because it’s not tenderized. The mash that comes with most entrees is really delicious, it has plantain (or green banana) with gold potatoes- very delectable and a little bit sweeter. And definitely don’t miss out on the desserts!!! Their signature dessert is something like a tiramisu but with cocada. Overall an amazing experience!

They did not care about our time . They gave us our 3 rooms 30 minutes late and the rooms were dirty and stuff left behind from previous guests . When we complained to the front desk they did not care , specially one of the workers was very rude to me and my family her name is jeimis , she should not be dealing with customers . Our air conditioner did not work for 2 of the rooms for 2 days and they gave us a fan . 2 of the workers humberto and Eliezer were very helpful in the whole situation . They also overcharge us for xtra people in the room and room service charge was sketchy too .

This is an absolute dream from the moment we arrived. The staff was kind, knowledgeable, helpful and felt at ease. Our go to person was, Leica, she was so sweet! She picked our meals everyday we were there and we loved all the recommendations.
