Hosteria Sara by Gaiarooms

The property is very close to the Plaza Mayor on a pedestrian street. The room was okay for an overnight stay. It is located next to a restaurant with a huge beer menu and very good pizza. We did have a problem with check-in. There isn’t anyone to check you in; you have to do it yourself on a tablet. We didn’t get an email with the booking number that we needed to check-in. I found it on the ********** app, but it required some searching.

Hotel didn't have a front desk or any physical person working there. It was a very strange system where you were emailed a link to complete where you upload your passport and they give you virtual keys. There was a tablet to do the check in on inside the hotel but it didn't work. I had phone connection issues and had a very difficult time getting into the room and connecting with someone for assistance. I was also informed on ********** check in time was 2pm but then couldn't check in until 3. Since there is no one working at the hotel there is no option to drop off bags prior to check in (something that all the other hotels in Spain offered). The room itself was fine but the check in experience and late of luggage storage make things very difficult.

Hosteria Sara by Gaiarooms looks great in the pictures but we have had a pretty poor experience. Our room smelled of sewage which the staff obvious knew about because of the tiny wall air-freshener and the plugs over some of the offensive holes in the bathroom. It didn't work and we resorted to buying our own candles and air-freshener. Additionally, the "easy, contactless" check-in process was not very easy and indeed not contactless. We had to make multiple phone calls and walk over to their office a few blocks away to get the front door code and pick up the key to our room. It's fine to have a number you call but we were under the impression that there would be a front desk on site. As international travellers, we don't have cell phone plans in Spain so just checking-in cost me over $60 CAD in call and data roaming fees. Lastly, we had requested 2 single beds which we were told would be done. Instead there was one king-sized bed which we were told by the staff when we enquired would be separated the next day. It wasn't. I have been so repulsed and exasperated by this place. They definitely don't deserve their rating on ***********. Salamanca is a gorgeous place that you should definitely visit but don't stay here and I will personally be avoiding facilities by gaiarooms going forward.

Hosteria Sara does not have a reception. It is therefore very important that you have at hand the emails that they have sent you so you can enter the building (you will need a code) and can check-in. The check-in process involves filling in a form, writing your ID/passport details (which can be time consuming) and paying. To be honest that's pain in the ass, however you are getting a room in the high season for 40 eur per night so I guess that's OK. In case of an issue (or if you want to leave in a secure place your luggage on the day of departure after check-out) they have an office 5 min away and I have to say that they were helpful. The room (in my case the first floor) was accessible via an elevator or staircase and it was clean and tidy, with daily clean-up, a TV and a bathroom. Overall not modern or huge but I would say that it was very good value for money considering the location. The only issue is that the room is not very silent (we could hear the A/C machine outside our bedroom), so the conform during your sleep is not great. So to sum-up, incredibly good location in the city centre, clean and tidy basic hotel. If you are on a tight budget Hosteria Sara is a great option, if you can afford extra 20 eur/night and value a reception and are used to non-basic hotels this may not be for you.

Nos sorprendió positivamente todos los detalles con los que contaba la habitación. Equipada para cocinar. Camas muy cómodas y todo perfectamente aseado. Se encuentra en pleno centro de Salamanca. Un sitio totalmente recomendable

Muy decepcionado con el personal y la atención al cliente de este establecimiento pues he sido víctima de un fraude online y no he sentido ningún respaldo por parte de ellos. Resumo: Hace 4 semanas reservé dos noches a través de la plataforma de reservas más popular y el establecimiento empezó a comunic**** conmigo a través del chat privado. A los pocos días recibí un mensaje, en ese chat, en el que se me pedía actualizar mi tarjeta para la reserva, lo hice y poco después vi que había sido víctima de un cargo fraudulento de casi 200E a nombre de una empresa nigeriana. Al poco tiempo, el establecimiento se pone en contacto conmigo siempre en el chat para informarme de que es un fraude y que no abriese el link, aunque ya era tarde. Desde entonces y hasta hoy, he tenido que interponer denuncia, anular tarjetas, reclamar al banco, reclamar a la plataforma de reservas, que al final accedió a reembolsarme, y en todo este tiempo, Hosteria Sara by Gaiarooms, lo único que ha hecho es responderme diciendo que no es su responsabilidad pues es la culpa de la plataforma. Irónico que digan eso cuando toda la comunicación lo mandan por ese chat, pero ahora que me han timado, ya no son responsables... Con una extensa experiencia profesional en hoteles, no puedo entender como teniendo aun la reserva activa con ellos ( estancia prevista para este viernes ) nadie de su establecimiento ha tenido el gesto de contactarme para saber cómo iba mi situación y cuando les he preguntado si pensaban tener algún gesto comercial para empatizar conmigo y asi motivarme a mantener la reserva ( descuento en tarifa, incluir desayuno, incluir parking , algun upgrade,etc - las fórmulas son infinitas, no tengo que decirlo yo ), me vuelven a decir que ellos no tienen nada que ver... Como les he dicho a ellos directamente, les recomiendo que se ahorren las múltiples fórmulas vacías de "estaremos aquí para ayudarle" y que en cambio, empiecen a cuidar a sus clientes. De lo contrario, perderán muchos más clientes como yo.

Un hotel con un sistema muy moderno para hacer el check-in, sin contacto; todo fue por teléfono o a través de códigos o aperturas a distancia nada más llegar al hotel. El precio fue inmejorable por una noche.

O mais desagradavel foi não ter ninguém para nos receber, o número de telefone não é compativel com o que nos foi cedido, houve um casal que nos abriu a porta para podermos entrar no hotel, depois de diversas tentativas o casal nos disse qual era o telefone, depois ninguém nos contactou o mandou mail para saber como funcionava o check in e por fim a rececionista ainda queria que nos deslocassemos para outro local para fazer o respetivo chek in depois de horas de viagem e com uma bebé e uma criança para não falar das malas. No que respeita ao quarto tinha boas condições de lompeza e conforto.

Excelente localização, perto da praça e da catedral ( não muito perto da estação de trem, mas foi possível ir a pé com mala de mão- talvez um táxi seja interessante para quem não quer andar muito). Check-in automatizado, vc mesmo escaneia os documentos… cozinha com fogão, frigobar, louça e chaleira elétrica ( perto tem mercado), boas camas , chuveiro com banheira… tudo simples mas muito bom!!! Foram dias excelentes em Salamanca!!!
