Eigentlich sind wir nur für den Ausblick auf die Dachterrasse des Best Western gekommen - und dann doch für ein paar Cocktails und Snacks geblieben. Als ersten Snack hatten wir das Huhn mit Kirschsauce. Das war ungewöhnlich, aber lecker. Als zweites hatten wir die lokale Käseplatte - die ebenfalls sehr lecker war. Die Hauscocktails, z.B Rooftop Girl oder Mens Edition, sind eher ungewöhnliche Mischungen, die man so nicht unbedingt kennt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, und beherrschte ein relativ gutes Englisch. Die Musik auf der Terrasse war relativ laut (wie fast überall in Georgien), und eher Techno-lastig. Der Ausblick ist zwar nett, fanden wir aber nicht berauschend - da hat man von der Bagrati-Kathedrale mehr.

Stunden später berichtete die Hotelverwaltung, dass sie die Buchung storniert haben, weil ich aus Russland komme. Sehr seltsames Verhalten für den Besitzer oder Verwaltung. Meine Bewertung wird wahrscheinlich mehr Werbung für Menschen anderer Nationalitäten oder Rassen sein, aber die Politik der Russophobie in diesem Hotel ist nicht bekannt. Das Hotel ist nicht in der Hauptstadt, die Lage ist ein wenig entfernt. Neben dem Hotel ist eine hohe Brücke, die Nacht ist sehr scharf und der Geräusch auf der Straße ist sehr groß. This is a good choice for budget travelers for a one or two night stay. Hotel is in a central location (set back from the road so look out for the signs on the main street) , 2 km from Kutaisi train station and 10 minutes to city centre . The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Wifi is good, beds are comfortable, room is well heated. There is a balcony which we didn’t use but would be nice in the summer months . Breakfast was plentiful and hearty. There were two negatives for us. The balcony door didn’t lock and there were no English speaking staff on premises. I was checked in over the phone by the manager and her number is posted on the door. The next morning we were able to ask the lady who cooked our breakfast if we could store our bags for a few hours, we managed ok with translator. However if you needed help to call a taxi or for anything else this was not available, which might be an issue for some travelers . I also wasn’t sure how secure our bags were for the time we were gone, perhaps a locked cupboard or storage area would be better. Having said all that however I would stay at the hotel again because it was excellent value for money

The helpfulness of the team at reception and room service is amazing. Anything from helping us plan where to go, to fulfilling any requests within minutes. Location is a walking distance from pretty much anything you want to see or any good place to eat. The best hotel in Kutaisi for sure!
