what an amazing hotel, far exceeded our expectation. the hotel and residences is situated at the higheset point in Val Thorens with amazing views. we stayed in residence attached the hotel, we had access to all the facilities of the hotel , great swimming pool , extensive kids games room(ping pong Pool table football etc). All the staff without exception were so friendly and helpful, it made our stay even better. the shuttle service from anywhere to anywhere in Val Thorens is truly wonderful, I would highly recommend this Hotel!!!! I would definitely go back there again. Made our holiday truly magical

Needs updating … but amazing location. Pillows old and lumpy but the ski room staff make it very easy with the family. The shuttle bus is unreliable.. when being picked up… it’s on a best efforts basis even when they tell you it’s on route!

Had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hotel is lovely and has many good qualities. Friendly check in staff (appreciated somebody taking care of my skis as soon as I arrived). Room was very comfortable although I had requested a double bed which wasn't facilitated (later rectified). Breakfast was the biggest disappointment of the hotel. On the first couple of days the breakfast room was chaos. I walked in and wasn't greeted or taken care of. I had to find my own table (almost all of the free tables were full with dirty dishes). Nobody from the staff attended to me. I managed to get hold of someone and ordered a coffee, after 30 minutes wait the coffee still hadn't arrived. Overall it was a very stressful and unpleasant start to my stay. I did make a complaint to the reception after the second experience was the same in the breakfast room. The next day I did notice an improvement and the manager was much more friendly and attentive. Whilst the service did improve in the breakfast room as the week went on I felt that over all the breakfast was not 5 start quality / service. Otherwise I enjoyed the hotel and the rest of the staff were very friendly and the spa was lovely. The ski room staff were great and it was a lovely touch to have my skis carried out to the snow each morning. I appreciated the check out process and again somebody took care of collecting my skis from the ski room and there was a free shuttle to take me down to my transfer.

Was so disappointed - this hotel more a three to four star. The staff were completely rushed off their feet in all of the restaurants and some seemed very inexperienced. The food started off good but then quickly went down hill, one night the soup was inedible and the meals lacked imagination and seemed to be quickly make up as a mid-week meal In the room, the toilet didn’t have a filter, the cleaning staff were clearly very busy as they would leave dirty bins on the bench, forget to replace towels and soaps etc. The rooms were filthy (accumulation of the dirt throughout the season, I gave allergies and they didn’t have hype alergenic ill owns and so would wake up at night struggling to breathe. And every morning from 6 am there would be scrapping and a lot of noise - like tables were being moved.

Booked a spa treatment at Koh-i Nor Hotel Spa for a friend's birthday present and hugely regretted it. The appointment for the treatment was confirmed over email, followed by a phone call as requested by Koh-i Nor to provide my credit card details. However, upon arrival, we were told (dismissively) that the booking didn't exist and no treatment slots were available. I showed the two staff at the spa reception my confirmation email and log of the phone call. The response was then that the person who I'd spoken to on the phone didn't know how to use their booking system and so the booking was never made. They seemed to be of the opinion that this explanation was entirely satifsfactory to close the matter and no apology was made. I found the staff to be uncharismatic, rude and lacking in any sort of empathy. Nonetheless, we decided to pay for general spa access, as we'd already stopped skiing early for the day and made the walk from our apartment over to the Koh-i Nor. The spa itself was disappointing. Lots of the storage lockers weren't working, so it was difficult to lock away our valuables. The floors in the changing rooms were flooded, private changing facilities were very limited and there was no facility provided to dry or store wet bathing suits (which may explain the flooded floor). In the spa itself, there were not enough beds for everyone using the spa at one time and the spa facilities themselves were medicore at best. If you're looking for a spa experience whilst staying in Val Thorens, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

It was our 3rd year in a row. That will explain all actually. Great chalet service and management, super comfortable chalet with indoor spa, ski in&out acces to slopes, very helpful ski shop staff. Nothing bad at all.

The Hotel has lovely and obliging staff and is perfectly located for Ski in and Out conditions in the winter. The hotel team will happily pick you up and drop you off anywhere in town with their transport. The rooms are well presented, clean and modern although the showers could be a rain-head shower rather than a bath connection, but that's my preference. The bar area and staff are excellent. The spa is just perfect after a day on the slopes with Steam Sauna, Dry Sauna, Pools Jacuzzi etc. The only personal area for improvement would be breakfast, which seemed understaffed and disorganised. While it was a busy weekend, there were not enough people to cater for the needs of customers in a timely fashion. I would happily return.

Very good but....the staff were clearly committed and hard working but perhaps over worked. The management need to get them more support at the busy times. The ski shop team were incredibly talented and helpful. The hotel is left a little wanting for the price point but the location is excellent and the rooms are good but quite pokey in their price. Overall very good, but needs to keep the pace for its pricing.

The location (ski in/ski out) is great. Bedrooms are really large with more wardrobe space than usual in ski hotels. Breakfast was brilliant. Dinner - main courses were inedible (starters and desserts were great so obviously a different chef), but there are so many great restaurants in town don’t take half board. Shuttle into town was useful especially when eating out in the evening. The best thing without a doubt is the staff - reception, ski room, waiting staff and housekeeping were outstanding.
