Maol Reidh Hotel

I'm so sad to see on Google that this beautiful hotel has closed. It was one of my favorite accommodations on our bike tour through Connemara. Our room was enormous, very clean and comfortable, and even had Netflix on the TV. The restaurant here was top-notch and served some of my favorite mussels we had on our trip along with a perfectly cooked duck breast. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I hope it can reopen one day as I would love to go back.

A family run hotel .Tony is very accommodating and nice about everything.A cosy place, very good food,nice comfortable big room. The staff are excellent . It's not the Ritz,it's much better . So handy for visiting North Connemara. Highly recommended.

First time staying here and it was fantastic. Tony is an excellent host who looks after his guests extremely well. Hotel is cosy, warm and offers delicious food. Breakfast was amazing, best eggs Benedict I’ve tasted. We will definitely be back. Mary and Jim Downpatrick

Stayed here for 12 days visiting family in the area. Everything about our stay was perfect.Tony is a wonderful host and looks after his guests perfectly. The rooms are really comfortable and spacious and the lobby, bar and restaurant areas are beautifully decorated and cosy. There was traditional music during our stay which was lovely to sit with a glass to enjoy! The food is fantastic-having tried out most of the menu during our stay it is consistently delicious.I can recommend the hake,lamb, homemade chicken Kiev and the fish and chips -all were some of the best dishes I have tasted in Ireland . The breakfast has an extensive buffet to start with; alongside a table service hot menu including a mouthwatering full Irish breakfast. A huge thankyou to the chef Damien and to Katie, Sinead, Karen and all the other wonderful staff who could not be more accommodating to us. Location wise you are a short stroll to the local shop to pick up essentials, within close distance to the beautiful Renvyle beach and a short drive to the iconic Kylemore abbey which is a wonderful day well spent. Hands down a real gem of a hotel in the Connemara countryside.

We had a wonderful time staying with Tony and the team at Maol Reidh Hotel. Everything was perfect, it was our best experience ever. The staff are amazing, so friendly, helpful and full of good humour. We laughed from the time we arrived until we left. The breakfast and dinner were top class, beautiful fresh food. It's clear that this all-round wonderful experience is generated by Tony himself, he couldn't do more for us to ensure that we had an enjoyable stay. So thank you Tony & team, we sure will be back!!

A huge thank you to Tony, and his team at the wonderful Maol Reidh for our enjoyable stay at this fabulous hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived and were greeted with a warm welcome by Tony and this set the tone for our visit. Every comfort was provided in our large, spacious, well-appointed room. We enjoyed beautiful food in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner which included the freshest of local fish and a wide ranging menu to suit all tastes. In the evenings we were treated to great music by local musicians in the bar which had a warm relaxed atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay and this added to the ‘home from home’ feel of this special hotel.Tony had lots of helpful recommendations for activities during the day, from this beautiful location in the heart of Connemara we explored nearby Killary harbour, local beaches, Letterfrack and Connemara National Park. We would highly recommend this special hotel for any trip to Connemara for the food, the location, the service and the welcome, certainly a true 5 star experience!

We visited the bar and restaurant this week and were so impressed with everything. Firstly the welcome was warm and relaxed. A lovely menu offered a really wide and interesting choice for all tastes. Also, unusual sometimes, there was a very good and extensive wine list. Our food was really delicious, prawns, hake, monkfish and pollock were enjoyed by our table - and all very reasonably priced. And there were lots of non fish dishes available too - we found it difficult to decide! The ambience was very relaxed although busy and we found the surroundings very comfortable, service was great and friendly. Lovely spot, a real gem. We can’t wait to return.

We had an awesome experience in the restaurant and bar in the hotel. We had heard so many good things and couldn’t wait to try it ourselves. We loved how the bar was in the front of the hotel and the staff was incredible! The were soo friendly and took such great care of us and chatted us up a bit. The food was delish and such HUGE portions. The seafood was very fresh and prepared beautifully and my lasagne was amazing. Another great spot for a few pints and an awesome dinner! We loved that Tony came around and chatted people up at least while we were there as well!

The Maol Reidh Hotel in Tullycross is an excellent choice for a stay to explore the wonders of SEA and SHORE in the REAL CONNEMARA👍👍👍. The hotel itself is a lovely and cosy place with beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. Our dinner in the Iasc Restaurant was very tasty, the scallops were outstanding. We enjoyed every minute and would love to come back (Paddy from Dundalk😉).
